Psalms 124

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

שיר המעלות לדוד לולי יהוה שהיה לנו יאמר נא ישראל׃

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

לולי יהוה שהיה לנו בקום עלינו אדם׃

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

אזי חיים בלעונו בחרות אפם בנו׃

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

אזי המים שטפונו נחלה עבר על נפשנו׃

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

אזי עבר על נפשנו המים הזידונים׃

Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

ברוך יהוה שלא נתננו טרף לשניהם׃

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

נפשנו כצפור נמלטה מפח יוקשים הפח נשבר ואנחנו נמלטנו׃

Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

עזרנו בשם יהוה עשה שמים וארץ׃
