I Corinthians 6

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

Darf jemand unter euch, der eine Sache wider den anderen hat, rechten vor den Ungerechten und nicht vor den Heiligen?

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Oder wisset ihr nicht, daß die Heiligen die Welt richten werden? Und wenn durch euch die Welt gerichtet wird, seid ihr unwürdig, über die geringsten Dinge zu richten?

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Wisset ihr nicht, daß wir Engel richten werden? geschweige denn Dinge dieses Lebens.

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Wenn ihr nun über Dinge dieses Lebens zu richten habt, so setzet diese dazu, die gering geachtet sind in der Versammlung.

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

Zur Beschämung sage ich’s euch. Also nicht ein Weiser ist unter euch, auch nicht einer, der zwischen seinen Brüdern zu entscheiden vermag?

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

sondern es rechtet Bruder mit Bruder, und das vor Ungläubigen!

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Es ist nun schon überhaupt ein Fehler an euch, daß ihr Rechtshändel miteinander habt. Warum laßt ihr euch nicht lieber unrecht tun? Warum laßt ihr euch nicht lieber übervorteilen?

Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Aber ihr tut unrecht und übervorteilt, und das Brüder!

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Oder wisset ihr nicht, daß Ungerechte das Reich Gottes nicht ererben werden? Irret euch nicht! Weder Hurer, noch Götzendiener, noch Ehebrecher, noch Weichlinge, noch Knabenschänder,

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

noch Diebe, noch Habsüchtige, noch Trunkenbolde, noch Schmäher, noch Räuber werden das Reich Gottes ererben.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Und solches sind euer etliche gewesen; aber ihr seid abgewaschen, aber ihr seid geheiligt, aber ihr seid gerechtfertigt worden in dem Namen des Herrn Jesus und durch den Geist unseres Gottes.

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Alles ist mir erlaubt, aber nicht alles ist nützlich. Alles ist mir erlaubt, aber ich will mich von keinem überwältigen lassen.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Die Speisen für den Bauch, und der Bauch für die Speisen; Gott aber wird sowohl diesen als jene zunichte machen. Der Leib aber nicht für die Hurerei, sondern für den Herrn, und der Herr für den Leib.

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

Gott aber hat sowohl den Herrn auferweckt, als er auch uns auferwecken wird durch seine Macht.

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

Wisset ihr nicht, daß eure Leiber Glieder Christi sind? Soll ich denn die Glieder Christi nehmen und zu Gliedern einer Hure machen? Das sei ferne!

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

Oder wisset ihr nicht, daß, wer der Hure anhängt, ein Leib mit ihr ist? "Denn es werden", spricht er, "die zwei ein Fleisch sein."

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Wer aber dem Herrn anhängt, ist ein Geist mit ihm.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Fliehet die Hurerei! Jede Sünde, die ein Mensch begehen mag, ist außerhalb des Leibes; wer aber hurt, sündigt wider seinen eigenen Leib.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Oder wisset ihr nicht, daß euer Leib der Tempel des Heiligen Geistes ist, der in euch wohnt, den ihr von Gott habt, und daß ihr nicht euer selbst seid?

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Denn ihr seid um einen Preis erkauft worden; verherrlichet nun Gott in eurem Leibe.
