Ecclesiastes 11

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

Хвърли хляба си по водата, защото след много дни ще го намериш.

Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

Дай дял на седмина и още на осмина, защото не знаеш какво зло ще бъде на земята.

If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.

Ако облаците са пълни, изливат дъжд на земята; и ако дърво падне на юг или на север, на мястото, където дървото падне, там си остава.

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Който се взира във вятъра, няма да сее и който гледа на облаците, няма да жъне.

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

Както не знаеш пътя на вятъра и както не знаеш как духът влиза в костите на утробата на бременната, така не знаеш и действието на Бога, който прави всичко.

In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Сей семето си сутрин и вечер не въздържай ръката си, защото не знаеш кое ще успее — това или онова, или и двете ще са еднакво добри.

Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun:

И светлината е сладка, и е добро за очите да виждат слънцето,

But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.

но дори човек да живее много години и да се весели през всички тях, нека си спомня дните на тъмнината, защото ще бъдат много. Всичко, което идва, е суета.

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

Весели се, младежо, в младостта си и нека сърцето ти се радва в дните на младостта ти. Ходи в пътищата на сърцето си и в това, което гледат очите ти, но знай, че за всичко това Бог ще те доведе на съд.

Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

Затова отмахни от сърцето си печалта и отдалечи злото от плътта си — защото младостта и черните коси са суета.
