I Samuel 1

Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim–zophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite:

Имаше един човек от Раматаим-Софим, от хълмистата земя на Ефрем, и името му беше Елкана, син на Ероам, син на Елиу, син на Тоу, син на Суф, ефратец.

And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

И той имаше две жени; името на едната беше Анна, а името на другата — Фенина. Фенина имаше деца, а Анна нямаше деца.

And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.

А този човек всяка година се изкачваше от града си, за да се поклони и да принесе жертва на ГОСПОДА на Войнствата в Сило. А двамата синове на Илий — Офний и Финеес — бяха свещеници на ГОСПОДА там.

And when the time was that Elkanah offered, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions:

И в деня, когато Елкана принасяше жертва, той даваше дялове на жена си Фенина и на всичките й синове и дъщери;

But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.

а на Анна даваше двоен дял, защото обичаше Анна; но ГОСПОД беше затворил утробата й.

And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.

А съперницата й я дразнеше много, за да я наскърбява, защото ГОСПОД беше затворил утробата й.

And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.

И всяка година, когато той правеше това, тя я дразнеше; всеки път, когато отиваше в ГОСПОДНИЯ дом. И тя плачеше и не ядеше.

Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?

А мъжът й Елкана й каза: Анна, защо плачеш? Защо не ядеш? И защо е нажалено сърцето ти? Не съм ли аз по-добър за теб от десет сина?

So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.

Тогава Анна стана, след като ядоха и пиха в Сило. А свещеникът Илий седеше на стол до стълба на вратата на ГОСПОДНИЯ храм.

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.

И тя, с огорчена душа, се молеше на ГОСПОДА и плачеше много.

And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

И направи обрек и каза: ГОСПОДИ на Войнствата, ако наистина погледнеш на скръбта на слугинята Си и си спомниш за мен, и не забравиш слугинята Си, и дадеш на слугинята Си мъжко дете, тогава аз ще го дам на ГОСПОДА за всичките дни на живота му и бръснач няма да мине върху главата му!

And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.

И докато тя продължаваше да се моли пред ГОСПОДА, Илий наблюдаваше устата й.

Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

А Анна говореше в сърцето си, само устните й се движеха, а гласът й не се чуваше. Затова Илий я помисли за пияна.

And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.

И Илий й каза: Докога ще си пияна? Откажи се от виното си!

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

А Анна отговори и каза: Не, господарю мой, аз съм жена с наскърбен дух. Нито вино, нито спиртно питие съм пила, а излях душата си пред ГОСПОДА.

Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

Не считай слугинята си за негодна жена, защото от голямата си мъка и от скръбта си говорих досега.

Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

Тогава Илий отговори и каза: Иди си с мир; и нека Израилевият Бог изпълни молбата ти, която си отправила към Него.

And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.

А тя каза: Нека слугинята ти намери благоволение в очите ти! И жената отиде по пътя си и яде и лицето й вече не беше скръбно.

And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.

И те станаха рано сутринта и се поклониха пред ГОСПОДА, и се върнаха, и дойдоха у дома си в Рама. И Елкана позна жена си Анна, и ГОСПОД си я спомни.

Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.

И на определеното време, след като забременя, Анна роди син и го нарече Самуил, като каза: Защото го измолих от ГОСПОДА.

And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer unto the LORD the yearly sacrifice, and his vow.

И Елкана се изкачи с целия си дом, за да принесе на ГОСПОДА годишната жертва и обрека си.

But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.

Но Анна не се изкачи, защото каза на мъжа си: Нека не идвам, докато не се отбие детето; тогава ще го занеса, за да се яви пред ГОСПОДА и да остане там завинаги.

And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee good; tarry until thou have weaned him; only the LORD establish his word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

И мъжът й Елкана й каза: Направи, каквото ти се вижда добре. Остани, докато го отбиеш. Само ГОСПОД да утвърди словото Си! И жената остана и кърми сина си, докато го отби.

And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh: and the child was young.

А когато го отби, го взе със себе си, заедно с три юнеца, една ефа брашно и един мех вино, и го донесе в ГОСПОДНИЯ дом в Сило. А детето беше малко.

And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli.

И заклаха юнеца и донесоха детето при Илий.

And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.

И тя каза: О, господарю мой! Жива душата ти, господарю мой; аз съм жената, която беше застанала тук, до теб, и се молеше на ГОСПОДА.

For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

За това дете се молех и ГОСПОД изпълни молбата ми, която отправих към Него.

Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.

Затова и аз го посветих на ГОСПОДА; докато е жив, ще бъде посветен на ГОСПОДА. И се поклониха там на ГОСПОДА.
