I Kings 18

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

И след много дни ГОСПОДНОТО слово беше към Илия в третата година на сушата и каза: Иди, покажи се на Ахав, и Аз ще изпратя дъжд по лицето на земята.

And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

И Илия отиде да се покаже на Ахав. А гладът в Самария беше страшен.

And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:

И Ахав повика Авдия, който беше управител над дома. А Авдия много се боеше от ГОСПОДА;

For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

и когато Езавел избиваше ГОСПОДНИТЕ пророци, Авдия беше взел сто пророци и ги беше скрил, по петдесет в пещера, и ги хранеше с хляб и вода.

And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.

И Ахав каза на Авдия: Обиколи земята до всичките водни извори и до всичките потоци; може би ще намерим трева, за да запазим живи конете и мулетата и да не избиваме добитъка.

So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.

И те си разделиха земята, за да я обиколят: Ахав отиде сам по един път, а Авдия отиде сам по друг път.

And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?

И когато Авдия беше на пътя, ето, Илия го срещна. И той го позна и падна на лицето си, и каза: Ти ли си, господарю мой, Илия?

And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

А той му каза: Аз съм. Иди, кажи на господаря си: Ето Илия.

And he said, What have I sinned, that thou wouldest deliver thy servant into the hand of Ahab, to slay me?

А той каза: Какво съм съгрешил, че предаваш слугата си в ръката на Ахав, за да ме убие?

As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.

Жив е ГОСПОД, твоят Бог — няма народ или царство, където господарят ми да не е пращал да те търсят! И когато кажеха: Няма го! — той караше царството или народа да се закълнат, че не са те намерили.

And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

А сега ти казваш: Иди, кажи на господаря си: Ето Илия!

And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.

И ще стане така, че когато си отида от теб, ГОСПОДНИЯТ Дух ще те отнесе не знам къде; и когато отида и кажа на Ахав и той не те намери, ще ме убие! А слугата ти се бои от ГОСПОДА от младостта си.

Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the LORD, how I hid an hundred men of the LORD'S prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

Не е ли съобщено на господаря ми какво направих, когато Езавел убиваше ГОСПОДНИТЕ пророци — че скрих сто души от ГОСПОДНИТЕ пророци, по петдесет в пещера, и ги храних с хляб и вода?

And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here: and he shall slay me.

А сега ти казваш: Иди, кажи на господаря си: Ето Илия. Той ще ме убие!

And Elijah said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.

Тогава Илия каза: Жив е ГОСПОД на Войнствата, пред когото стоя — днес непременно ще му се покажа!

So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.

Тогава Авдия отиде да посрещне Ахав и му каза. И Ахав отиде да посрещне Илия.

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?

И когато Ахав видя Илия, Ахав му каза: Ти ли си, който докара беда на Израил?

And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

А той отговори: Не аз докарах беда на Израил, а ти и твоят бащин дом, защото оставихте заповедите на ГОСПОДА и последвахте ваалимите.

Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

И сега изпрати и събери целия Израил при мен на планината Кармил и четиристотин и петдесетте пророци на Ваал, и четиристотинте пророци на Ашера, които ядат на трапезата на Езавел.

So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

И Ахав изпрати сред всичките израилеви синове и събра пророците на планината Кармил.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Тогава Илия дойде при целия народ и каза: Докога ще куцате на две страни? Ако ГОСПОД е Богът, следвайте Него; а ако е Ваал, следвайте него! Но народът не му отговори нито дума.

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

Тогава Илия каза на народа: Само аз останах пророк на ГОСПОДА, а пророците на Ваал са четиристотин и петдесет мъже.

Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:

Нека сега ни дадат два юнеца. Те нека си изберат единия юнец и да го разсекат на късове, и да го сложат на дървата, но да не слагат огън. И аз ще приготвя другия юнец и ще го сложа на дървата, но няма да сложа огън.

And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

Тогава вие призовете името на вашия бог и аз ще призова Името на ГОСПОДА. И Богът, който отговори с огън, Той е Бог. И целият народ отговори и каза: Добро е това слово.

And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.

И Илия каза на пророците на Ваал: Изберете си единия юнец и го пригответе първо вие, защото сте много; и призовете името на вашия бог, но не слагайте огън.

And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

И те взеха юнеца, който им се даде, и го приготвиха, и призоваваха името на Ваал от сутринта до пладне и казваха: О, Ваал, отговори ни! Но нямаше глас и никой не отговори. И те подскачаха около олтара, който бяха направили.

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

И около пладне Илия им се присмиваше и казваше: Викайте със силен глас, защото той е бог — или се е замислил, или е по нуждата си, или е на път, или може би спи и трябва да се събуди!

And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

А те викаха със силен глас и се режеха според обичая си с мечове и копия, докато кръвта бликна от тях.

And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

А когато мина пладне, те пророкуваха до времето, когато се принася хлебния принос, но нямаше глас и нямаше кой да отговори, и нямаше кой да обърне внимание.

And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.

Тогава Илия каза на целия народ: Приближете се при мен. И целият народ се приближи при него. И той поправи ГОСПОДНИЯ олтар, който беше съборен.

And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

И Илия взе дванадесет камъка според броя на племената на синовете на Яков, към когото беше ГОСПОДНОТО слово, казвайки: Израил ще бъде името ти!

And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

И той построи от камъните олтар в ГОСПОДНОТО Име и около олтара направи ров, широк, колкото да побере две сати семе.

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

После нареди дървата, разсече юнеца на късове и го сложи на дървата, и каза: Напълнете четири ведра с вода и я излейте върху всеизгарянето и върху дървата.

And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

И каза: Повторете. И те повториха. И пак каза: Потретете. И потретиха.

And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

И водата течеше около олтара и той напълни и рова с вода.

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

И по времето, когато се принася хлебният принос, пророк Илия се приближи и каза: ГОСПОДИ, Боже на Авраам, Исаак и Израил! Нека днес стане известно, че Ти си Бог в Израил, и че аз съм Твой слуга, и че по Твоето слово направих всичко това!

Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

Отговори ми, ГОСПОДИ! Отговори ми, за да познае този народ, че Ти, ГОСПОДИ, си Богът, и че Ти си обърнал сърцата им обратно към Себе Си!

Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

Тогава падна огън от ГОСПОДА и изгори всеизгарянето и дървата, и камъните, и пръстта, и облиза водата, която беше в рова.

And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

И когато целият народ видя това, всички паднаха по лице и казаха: ГОСПОД, Той е Богът! ГОСПОД, Той е Богът!

And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

Тогава Илия им каза: Хванете пророците на Ваал! Никой от тях да не избяга! И те ги хванаха и Илия ги заведе при потока Кисон, и там ги изкла.

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

Тогава Илия каза на Ахав: Изкачи се, яж и пий; защото се чува звукът на силен дъжд.

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

И Ахав се изкачи да яде и да пие. А Илия се изкачи на върха на Кармил и се наведе до земята, и сложи лицето си между коленете си.

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

И каза на слугата си: Изкачи се и погледни към морето. И той се изкачи и погледна, и каза: Няма нищо. И той каза: Иди пак. И така седем пъти.

And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

И на седмия път каза: Ето, от морето се издига облак, малък колкото човешка длан. И Илия каза: Изкачи се и кажи на Ахав: Впрегни колесницата си и слез, за да не те спре дъждът.

And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

А междувременно небето почерня от облаци и вятър и заваля силен дъжд. И Ахав се качи на колесницата си и отиде в Езраел.

And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Тогава ГОСПОДНАТА ръка беше върху Илия и той препаса слабините си, и изтича пред Ахав до прохода на Езраел.
