Psalms 64

Davidin Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle. Kuule, Jumala, ääntäni, minun valituksessani: varjele elämäni vihollisen pelvosta.

Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Peitä minua pahain neuvosta, väärintekiäin metelistä,

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

Jotka kielensä hiovat niinkuin miekan: he ampuvat myrkyllisillä sanoillansa niinkuin nuolilla;

Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

Että he salaisesti ampuisivat viatointa: he ampuvat häntä äkisti ilman pelvota.

That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

He vahvistavat itsensä pahoissa juonissansa ja puhuvat, kuinka he paulat virittäisivät, ja sanovat: kuka taitaa ne nähdä?

They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

He ajattelevat vääryyttä, ja täyttävät sen minkä he ajatelleet ovat; viekkaat ihmiset ja salakavalat sydämet.

They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

Mutta Jumala ampuu heitä; äkillinen nuoli on heidän rangaistuksensa.

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

Heidän oma kielensä pitää heitä langettaman, että jokainen, joka heidät näkee, pakenee heitä.

So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

Ja kaikkein ihmisten pitää pelkäämän, ja Jumalan työtä ilmoittaman, ja hänen työnsä ymmärtämän.

And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

Vanhurskaat pitää Herrassa riemuitseman, ja häneen uskaltaman; ja kaikki vaat sydämet kerskatkoon siitä.

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
