Judges 18

В онЕзи дни нямаше цар в Израил; и в онези дни племето на данците си търсеше наследство, в което да живее, защото до онзи ден не им се беше паднало наследство между израилевите племена.

In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those days the tribe of the Danites sought them an inheritance to dwell in; for unto that day all their inheritance had not fallen unto them among the tribes of Israel.

И синовете на Дан изпратиха от рода си петима мъже от цялата си общност, храбри мъже, от Сараа и от Естаол, за да огледат земята и да я изследват, и им казаха: Идете, изследвайте земята. И те дойдоха до хълмистата земя на Ефрем, до къщата на Михей, и пренощуваха там.

And the children of Dan sent of their family five men from their coasts, men of valour, from Zorah, and from Eshtaol, to spy out the land, and to search it; and they said unto them, Go, search the land: who when they came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, they lodged there.

И когато приближиха къщата на Михей, те познаха гласа на младия левит и се отбиха там, и му казаха: Кой те доведе тук? Какво правиш на това място? И какво имаш тук?

When they were by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young man the Levite: and they turned in thither, and said unto him, Who brought thee hither? and what makest thou in this place? and what hast thou here?

А той им каза: Така и така ми направи Михей и ме нае, и аз му станах свещеник.

And he said unto them, Thus and thus dealeth Micah with me, and hath hired me, and I am his priest.

И те му казаха: Моля те, допитай се до Бога, за да узнаем дали ще бъде благополучен пътят, на който отиваме.

And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.

А свещеникът им каза: Идете с мир. Пред ГОСПОДА е пътят, по който отивате.

And the priest said unto them, Go in peace: before the LORD is your way wherein ye go.

И петимата мъже тръгнаха и дойдоха в Лаис, и видяха народа, който беше в него, че живееше безгрижно, като сидонците, спокойно и безгрижно, защото нямаше в земята властник, който да ги притеснява; и те бяха далеч от сидонците и нямаха връзки с никого.

Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.

И се върнаха при братята си в Сараа и Естаол и братята им им казаха: Какво казвате вие?

And they came unto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol: and their brethren said unto them, What say ye?

И те казаха: Станете и нека се изкачим срещу тях. Защото видяхме земята, и ето, тя е много е добра. А вие още ли седите? Не бъдете лениви да отидете и да влезете, и да завладеете земята.

And they said, Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.

Когато отидете, ще отидете при един безгрижен народ и обширна земя, защото Бог я даде в ръката ви — място, където не липсва нищо, което е на земята.

When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of any thing that is in the earth.

Тогава шестстотин мъже от рода на данците, от Сараа и Естаол, потеглиха, препасани с военни оръжия.

And there went from thence of the family of the Danites, out of Zorah and out of Eshtaol, six hundred men appointed with weapons of war.

И отидоха и се разположиха на стан в Кириат-Иарим в Юда. Затова нарекоха онова място Махане-Дан, както е и до днес. Ето, то се намира зад Кириат-Иарим.

And they went up, and pitched in Kirjath–jearim, in Judah: wherefore they called that place Mahaneh–dan unto this day: behold, it is behind Kirjath–jearim.

А оттам преминаха в хълмистата земя на Ефрем и дойдоха до къщата на Михей.

And they passed thence unto mount Ephraim, and came unto the house of Micah.

Тогава петимата мъже, които бяха ходили да огледат страната Лаис, заговориха и казаха на братята си: Знаете ли, че в тези къщи има ефод и домашни идоли, изваян идол и излят идол? И така, помислете какво трябва да направите.

Then answered the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish, and said unto their brethren, Do ye know that there is in these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image? now therefore consider what ye have to do.

И те се отбиха там и дойдоха в къщата на младия левит, в къщата на Михей, и го поздравиха.

And they turned thitherward, and came to the house of the young man the Levite, even unto the house of Micah, and saluted him.

А шестстотинте мъже, препасани с военните си оръжия, които бяха от синовете на Дан, застанаха при входа на портата.

And the six hundred men appointed with their weapons of war, which were of the children of Dan, stood by the entering of the gate.

Тогава петимата мъже, които бяха отишли да огледат земята, отидоха, влязоха там и взеха изваяния идол и ефода, и домашните идоли, и излетия идол. А свещеникът стоеше при входа на портата с шестстотинте мъже, препасани с военни оръжия.

And the five men that went to spy out the land went up, and came in thither, and took the graven image, and the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image: and the priest stood in the entering of the gate with the six hundred men that were appointed with weapons of war.

И когато те влязоха в къщата на Михей и изнесоха изваяния идол, ефода и домашните идоли, и излетия идол, свещеникът им каза: Какво правите?

And these went into Micah's house, and fetched the carved image, the ephod, and the teraphim, and the molten image. Then said the priest unto them, What do ye?

А те му казаха: Мълчи! Сложи ръката си на устата си и ела с нас, и ни бъди отец и свещеник. По-добре ли е за теб да бъдеш свещеник на дома на един човек, или да бъдеш свещеник на едно племе и на един род в Израил?

And they said unto him, Hold thy peace, lay thine hand upon thy mouth, and go with us, and be to us a father and a priest: is it better for thee to be a priest unto the house of one man, or that thou be a priest unto a tribe and a family in Israel?

И сърцето на свещеника се зарадва и той взе ефода и домашните идоли, и изваяния идол, и отиде сред народа.

And the priest's heart was glad, and he took the ephod, and the teraphim, and the graven image, and went in the midst of the people.

Тогава те се обърнаха и потеглиха и сложиха пред себе си децата и добитъка и ценните неща.

So they turned and departed, and put the little ones and the cattle and the carriage before them.

А когато се бяха отдалечили от къщата на Михей, мъжете от къщите, близки до къщата на Михей, се събраха и настигнаха синовете на Дан.

And when they were a good way from the house of Micah, the men that were in the houses near to Micah's house were gathered together, and overtook the children of Dan.

И извикаха към синовете на Дан и те обърнаха лицата си и казаха на Михей: Какво ти е, че си събрал такова множество?

And they cried unto the children of Dan. And they turned their faces, and said unto Micah, What aileth thee, that thou comest with such a company?

А той каза: Взели сте ми боговете, които си направих, и свещеника и сте тръгнали. И какво повече ми остава? И как ми казвате: Какво ти е?

And he said, Ye have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and ye are gone away: and what have I more? and what is this that ye say unto me, What aileth thee?

А синовете на Дан му казаха: Гласът ти да не се чуе между нас, да не би да ви нападнат разгневени мъже, и да изгубиш живота си, заедно с живота на домашните си!

And the children of Dan said unto him, Let not thy voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows run upon thee, and thou lose thy life, with the lives of thy household.

И синовете на Дан продължиха по пътя си. А когато Михей видя, че са прекалено силни за него, той се обърна и си отиде обратно у дома си.

And the children of Dan went their way: and when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back unto his house.

Така те взеха това, което беше направил Михей, и свещеника, който имаше. И нападнаха Лаис, един спокоен и безгрижен народ, и ги избиха с острието на меча, и изгориха града с огън.

And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire.

И нямаше кой да ги избави, защото беше далеч от Сидон и нямаха връзки с никого, беше в долината към Вет-Реов. И те построиха града и се заселиха в него.

And there was no deliverer, because it was far from Zidon, and they had no business with any man; and it was in the valley that lieth by Beth–rehob. And they built a city, and dwelt therein.

И нарекоха града Дан, на името на баща си Дан, който се беше родил на Израил. А отначало името на града беше Лаис.

And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born unto Israel: howbeit the name of the city was Laish at the first.

И синовете на Дан си изправиха изваяния идол; а Йонатан, синът на Гирсон, син на Мойсей, той и синовете му бяха свещеници на племето на данците до времето, когато земята беше пленена.

And the children of Dan set up the graven image: and Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land.

Така те си поставиха изваяния идол на Михей, който той беше направил, и той стоя там през цялото време, докато Божият дом беше в Сило.

And they set them up Micah's graven image, which he made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.
