Jeremiah 18

Словото, което беше към Еремия от ГОСПОДА и каза:

The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Стани и слез в къщата на грънчаря и там ще ти дам да чуеш думите Ми.

Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

И слязох в къщата на грънчаря, и ето, той работеше изделие на колелата си.

Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.

И съдът, който правеше от глина, се разваляше в ръката на грънчаря и той отново го правеше на друг съд, както на грънчаря му се искаше да го направи.

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

И словото на ГОСПОДА беше към мен и каза:

Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Не мога ли да направя с вас като този грънчар, доме израилев? — заявява ГОСПОД. Ето, както е глината в ръката на грънчаря, така сте и вие в ръката Ми, доме израилев.

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

В един момент говоря за народ или за царство да го изкореня, съсипя и погубя,

At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

но ако онзи народ, за който съм говорил, се отвърне от злото си, и Аз ще се разкая за злото, което съм мислел да му направя.

If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

А в друг момент говоря за народ или за царство да го съградя и насадя,

And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;

но ако извърши това, което е зло в очите Ми, като не слуша гласа Ми, тогава ще се разкая за доброто, което съм казал, че ще му направя.

If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

И сега, говори на юдовите мъже и на ерусалимските жители и кажи: Така казва ГОСПОД: Ето, Аз готвя зло против вас и замислям замисъл против вас. О, върнете се всеки от лошия път и оправете постъпките си и делата си!

Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

А те казват: Напразно е! Защото ще ходим според замислите си и ще постъпваме всеки според упорството на злото си сърце.

And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

Затова, така казва ГОСПОД: О, попитайте между народите — кой е чул такива неща? Израилевата девица извърши нещо много отвратително.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.

Ще изостави ли ливанският сняг скалата на полето? Ще пресъхне ли идващата отдалеч течаща студена вода?

Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?

Защото Моят народ Ме забрави, кади на нищожните идоли; и те ги препънаха в пътищата им, в древните друмища, да ходят по пътеки, по неутъпкан път,

Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;

да направят земята си за ужас и вечно подсвиркване; всеки, който минава през нея, ще се ужаси и ще поклати глава.

To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head.

Като източния вятър ще ги разпръсна пред врага; с гръб, а не с лице ще ги погледна в деня на нещастието им.

I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.

Тогава казаха: Елате, нека скроим замисли против Еремия, защото няма да се изгуби закон от свещеник и съвет от мъдър, и слово от пророк. Елате, нека го поразим с език и нека не внимаваме на нито на една от думите му!

Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

Внимавай на мен, ГОСПОДИ, и чуй гласа на онези, които се карат с мен!

Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.

Ще се отплати ли зло за добро? Защото изкопаха яма за душата ми. Спомни си, че застанах пред Теб, за да говоря добро за тях, за да отвърна яростта Ти от тях!

Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.

Затова предай синовете им на глад и ги предай в ръката на меча! И нека станат жените им обезчадени и вдовици, а мъжете им да бъдат поразени от смърт, младежите — повалени от меч във война.

Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.

Нека се чуе вик от къщите им, когато докараш внезапно войски върху тях, защото изкопаха яма да ме хванат и скриха примки за краката ми.

Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

И Ти, ГОСПОДИ, знаеш целия им план против мен, да ме умъртвят. Не прощавай беззаконието им и не изличавай греха им пред Себе Си! Нека бъдат повалени пред Теб; действай против тях във времето на гнева Си!

Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
