Daniel 4

Цар Навуходоносор към всички народи, племена и езици, които живеят по цялата земя: Мир да ви се умножи!

Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Беше ми угодно да оповестя знаменията и чудесата, които Всевишният Бог ми направи.

I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.

Колко велики са знаменията Му и колко могъщи са чудесата Му! Неговото царство е вечно царство и Неговото владичество — от поколение в поколение.

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Аз, Навуходоносор, бях спокоен в дома си и благополучен в двореца си.

I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

Видях сън, който ме уплаши, и размишленията на леглото ми и виденията на главата ми ме уплашиха.

I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

И издадох указ да се въведат пред мен всичките вавилонски мъдреци, за да ми известят тълкуванието на съня.

Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Тогава влязоха книжниците, гадателите, халдейците и гледачите, и аз разказах съня пред тях, но не ми известиха тълкуванието му.

Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

А накрая дойде пред мен Даниил, чието име е Валтасасар, по името на моя бог, и в когото е духът на светите богове; и аз разказах съня пред него:

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

Валтасасаре, началнико на книжниците, понеже зная, че духът на светите богове е в теб и никаква тайна не ти е трудна, обясни ми виденията на съня ми, който видях, и тълкуванието му.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

Ето какви бяха виденията на главата ми и на леглото ми: Гледах, и ето, дърво сред земята, а височината му беше огромна.

Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

Дървото стана голямо и здраво, височината му стигаше до небето и то се виждаше до краищата на цялата земя.

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

Листата му бяха хубави, плодът му — изобилен и на него имаше храна за всички; полските животни намираха сянка под него и небесните птици живееха в клоните му, и от него се хранеше всяко създание.

The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

Видях във виденията на главата си на леглото си, и ето, един свят страж слезе от небето.

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

Той извика силно и каза така: Отсечете дървото и изсечете клоните му; отърсете листата му и разпръснете плода му; нека бягат животните изпод него и птиците от клоните му!

He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

Но пъна с корените му оставете в земята, и то стегнат с обръч от желязо и бронз сред полската зеленина; и нека се мокри от небесната роса и нека участва с животните в тревата на земята.

Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

Нека човешкото му сърце се измени и нека му се даде животинско сърце; и така нека минат над него седем времена.

Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

Чрез решение на стражите е дошло това послание и делото е по думата на светите, за да разберат живите, че Всевишният владее над царството на хората и го дава на когото иска, и поставя над него най-нищожния измежду хората.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Този сън видях аз, цар Навуходоносор, и ти, Валтасасаре, кажи тълкуванието му, защото нито един от мъдреците на царството ми не може да ми извести тълкуванието, а ти можеш, защото духът на светите богове е в теб.

This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

Тогава Даниил, чието име беше Валтасасар, остана смаян за известно време и размислите му го плашеха. Царят проговори и каза: Валтасасаре, сънят и тълкуванието му да не те плашат! Валтасасар каза в отговор: Господарю мой, сънят нека бъде за онези, които те мразят, и тълкуванието му — за враговете ти!

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

Дървото, което си видял, че е станало голямо и здраво, чиято височина е стигала до небето и което се виждало от цялата земя,

The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

чиито листа са били хубави и плодът му — изобилен и на което е имало храна за всички, и под което са живеели полските животни, и по чиито клони са се подслонявали небесните птици —

Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

това си ти, царю, който си станал голям и здрав; защото величието ти е станало голямо и е стигнало до небето и владичеството ти — до края на земята.

It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

А това, че царят е видял един свят страж да слиза от небето и да казва: Отсечете дървото и го унищожете, но пъна с корените му оставете в земята, и то стегнат с обръч от желязо и бронз сред полската зеленина; и нека се мокри от небесната роса и нека участва с полските животни, докато минат над него седем времена! —

And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

това е тълкуването му, царю, и това е решението на Всевишния, което ще постигне господаря ми, царя:

This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:

Ще бъдеш изгонен измежду хората и жилището ти ще бъде с полските животни, ще бъдеш хранен с трева като говедата и ще бъдеш мокрен от небесната роса; и ще минат над теб седем времена, докато познаеш, че Всевишният владее над царството на хората и го дава на когото иска.

That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

А това, че е било казано да се остави пънът с корените на дървото, значи, че царството ще ти остане, щом познаеш, че небесата владеят.

And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

Затова, царю, нека ти бъде угоден моят съвет да оставиш греховете си чрез правда и беззаконията си — чрез милост към бедните, ако искаш да се продължи благоденствието ти.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

Всичко това постигна цар Навуходоносор.

All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

След дванадесет месеца, като ходеше по царския дворец във Вавилон,

At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

царят проговори и каза: Не е ли велик този Вавилон, който аз съградих за седалище на царството с мощната си сила и за славата на великолепието си!

The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

Думата беше още в устата на царя, когато от небесата дойде глас: На теб се казва, царю Навуходоносор: Царството се отне от теб!

While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

И ще бъдеш изгонен измежду хората и жилището ти ще бъде с полските животни, и ще бъдеш хранен с трева като говедата; и ще минат над теб седем времена, докато познаеш, че Всевишният владее над царството на хората и го дава на когото иска.

And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

В същия час това слово се изпълни над Навуходоносор; той беше изгонен измежду хората и ядеше трева като говедата, и тялото му се мокреше от небесната роса, докато космите му пораснаха като орлови пера и ноктите му — като птичи нокти.

The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

А в края на дните аз, Навуходоносор, повдигнах очите си към небесата и разумът ми се възвърна. И аз благослових Всевишния и възхвалих и прославих Вечно Живия, чието владичество е вечно владичество, чието царство е от поколение в поколение.

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

И всичките земни жители се считат като нищо пред Него; по волята Си Той постъпва с небесната войска и със земните жители и никой не може да спре ръката Му или да Му каже: Какво правиш Ти?

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

В същото време, когато разумът ми се възвърна, ми се възвърнаха и великолепието ми и блясъкът ми за славата на царството ми; и съветниците ми и големците ми ме търсеха и аз бях отново утвърден в царството си и ми се добави превъзходно величие.

At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

Сега аз, Навуходоносор, възхвалявам и величая, и прославям небесния Цар, чиито дела всички са истинни и чиито пътища са справедливи, и който може да смири ходещите горделиво.

Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
