II Samuel 3

И между Сауловия дом и Давидовия дом имаше дълга война. И Давид ставаше все по-силен и по-силен, а Сауловият дом ставаше все по-слаб и по-слаб.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

И на Давид се родиха синове в Хеврон: първородният му беше Амнон, от езраелката Ахиноама;

And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;

вторият му — Хилеав, от Авигея, жената на кармилеца Навал; третият — Авесалом, син на Мааха, дъщеря на гесурския цар Талмай;

And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

четвъртият — Адония, син на Агита; петият — Сефатия, син на Авитала;

And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

и шестият — Итраам, от Давидовата жена Егла. Тези синове се родиха на Давид в Хеврон.

And the sixth, Ithream, by Eglah David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.

И докато траеше войната между Сауловия дом и Давидовия дом, Авенир беше опората на Сауловия дом.

And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

А Саул имаше наложница на име Ресфа, дъщеря на Аия; и Исвостей каза на Авенир: Ти защо си влязъл при наложницата на баща ми?

And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish–bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father's concubine?

Тогава Авенир се разгневи много на думите на Исвостей и каза: Кучешка глава ли съм аз, която държи страната на Юда? Днес аз оказвам милост на дома на баща ти Саул, на братята му и на приятелите му и не те предадох в ръката на Давид, а днес ти ме обвиняваш в беззаконие заради тази жена!

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish–bosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

Така да направи Бог на Авенир и така да прибави, ако не сторя за Давид така, както ГОСПОД му се е заклел:

So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

да отвърна царството от Сауловия дом и да издигна Давидовия престол над Израил и над Юда, от Дан до Вирсавее!

To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer–sheba.

И Исвостей не можеше вече да отговори на Авенир нито дума, понеже се боеше от него.

And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.

Тогава Авенир изпрати от своя страна пратеници до Давид и каза: Чия е земята? И каза още: Направи договора си с мен, и ето, ръката ми ще бъде с теб, за да обърна целия Израил към теб.

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

И Давид каза: Добре, ще направя договор с теб, но едно нещо искам от теб: няма да видиш лицето ми, ако първо не доведеш Сауловата дъщеря Михала, когато дойдеш да видиш лицето ми.

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

И Давид изпрати пратеници до Исвостей, сина на Саул, да кажат: Дай ми жена ми Михала, за която се сгодих срещу сто филистимски краекожия!

And David sent messengers to Ish–bosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

И Исвостей изпрати и я взе от мъжа й, от Фалтиил, сина на Лаис.

And Ish–bosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

И мъжът й отиде с нея и плачеше, докато вървеше, и я последва до Ваурим. А Авенир му каза: Иди, върни се. И той се върна.

And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.

А Авенир говори с израилевите старейшини и каза: Още отпреди вие искахте Давид за цар над вас.

And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:

Затова сега, направете го! Защото ГОСПОД е говорил за Давид и е казал: Чрез ръката на слугата Си Давид ще избавя народа Си Израил от ръката на филистимците и от ръката на всичките му врагове.

Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.

И Авенир говори и в ушите на Вениамин. Освен това Авенир отиде да говори и в ушите на Давид в Хеврон всичко, което се виждаше добро на Израил и на целия вениаминов дом.

And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

И така, Авенир и двадесет мъже с него дойдоха при Давид в Хеврон; и Давид сложи трапеза за Авенир и за мъжете, които бяха с него.

So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast.

И Авенир каза на Давид: Ще стана и ще отида, и ще събера целия Израил при господаря си царя, за да направят завет с теб и да царуваш над всичко, което душата ти желае. И Давид изпрати Авенир и той си отиде с мир.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

И ето, слугите на Давид и Йоав дойдоха от едно нападение и донесоха със себе си голяма плячка; а Авенир вече не беше с Давид в Хеврон, защото той го беше изпратил, и той си беше отишъл с мир.

And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

Когато Йоав дойде и цялата войска, която беше с него, съобщиха на Йоав и казаха: Авенир, синът на Нир, дойде при царя и той го изпрати, и той си отиде с мир.

When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

Тогава Йоав дойде при царя и каза: Какво си направил? Ето, Авенир е дошъл при теб — защо си го изпратил и той си е отишъл?

Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

Познаваш Авенир, сина на Нир, че е дошъл да те измами и да научи излизането ти и влизането ти, и да разбере всичко, което правиш.

Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

И Йоав излезе от присъствието на Давид и изпрати пратеници след Авенир, и те го върнаха от кладенеца Сира. А Давид не знаеше.

And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.

И когато Авенир се върна в Хеврон, Йоав го отведе настрани в портата, за да му говори тайно, и там го удари в корема и той умря заради кръвта на брат му Асаил.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

А след това Давид чу и каза: Аз и царството ми сме невинни до века пред ГОСПОДА за кръвта на Авенир, сина на Нир!

And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

Нека тя дойде на главата на Йоав и на целия му бащин дом и нека не липсва от дома на Йоав такъв, който има семетечение или е прокажен, или се подпира на тояга, или пада от меч, или е лишен от хляб.

Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

Така Йоав и брат му Ависей убиха Авенир, защото беше убил брат им Асаил в битката при Гаваон.

So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.

И Давид каза на Йоав и на целия народ, който беше с него: Раздерете дрехите си и се препашете с вретище, и плачете пред Авенир! И цар Давид вървеше след носилката.

And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

И погребаха Авенир в Хеврон и царят издигна гласа си и плака при гроба на Авенир, и целият народ плака.

And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

И царят оплака Авенир с тази оплаквателна песен и каза: Трябваше ли Авенир да умре, както умира безбожен?

And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth?

Ръцете ти не бяха вързани, нито краката ти — сложени в бронзови окови; както човек пада пред престъпници, така падна ти! И целият народ плака още над него.

Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

После целият народ дойде, за да накара Давид да яде хляб, докато още беше ден. Но Давид се закле и каза: Така да ми направи Бог и така да прибави, ако вкуся хляб или нещо друго, преди да залезе слънцето!

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

И целият народ видя това и то му се видя добро, както и всичко, което правеше царят, се виждаше добро на целия народ.

And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

Така целият народ и целият Израил разбра в онзи ден, че не беше от царя да бъде убит Авенир, синът на Нир.

For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

Тогава царят каза на слугите си: Не знаете ли, че първенец и велик човек падна днес в Израил?

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

Днес аз съм слаб, макар и да съм помазан за цар; а тези мъже, синовете на Саруя, са много жестоки за мен. ГОСПОД да отплати на злодея според злината му!

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.
