Isaiah 23

صور کے بارے میں اللہ کا فرمان: اے ترسیس کے عمدہ جہازو ، واویلا کرو! کیونکہ صور تباہ ہو گیا ہے، وہاں ٹکنے کی جگہ تک نہیں رہی۔ جزیرۂ قبرص سے واپس آتے وقت اُنہیں اطلاع دی گئی۔

The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

اے ساحلی علاقے میں بسنے والو، آہ و زاری کرو! اے صیدا کے تاجرو، ماتم کرو! تیرے قاصد سمندر کو پار کرتے تھے،

Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

وہ گہرے پانی پر سفر کرتے ہوئے مصر کا غلہ تجھ تک پہنچاتے تھے، کیونکہ تُو ہی دریائے نیل کی فصل سے نفع کماتا تھا۔ یوں تُو تمام قوموں کا تجارتی مرکز بنا۔

And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

لیکن اب شرم سار ہو، اے صیدا، کیونکہ سمندر کا قلعہ بند شہر صور کہتا ہے، ”ہائے، سب کچھ تباہ ہو گیا ہے۔ اب ایسا لگتا ہے کہ مَیں نے نہ کبھی دردِ زہ میں مبتلا ہو کر بچے جنم دیئے، نہ کبھی بیٹے بیٹیاں پالے۔“

Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

جب یہ خبر مصر تک پہنچے گی تو وہاں کے باشندے تڑپ اُٹھیں گے۔

As at the report concerning Egypt, so shall they be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.

چنانچہ سمندر کو پار کر کے ترسیس تک پہنچو! اے ساحلی علاقے کے باشندو، گریہ و زاری کرو!

Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.

کیا یہ واقعی تمہارا وہ شہر ہے جس کی رنگ رلیاں مشہور تھیں، وہ قدیم شہر جس کے پاؤں اُسے دُوردراز علاقوں تک لے گئے تاکہ وہاں نئی آبادیاں قائم کرے؟

Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.

کس نے صور کے خلاف یہ منصوبہ باندھا؟ یہ شہر تو پہلے بادشاہوں کو تخت پر بٹھایا کرتا تھا، اور اُس کے سوداگر رئیس تھے، اُس کے تاجر دنیا کے شرفا میں گنے جاتے تھے۔

Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?

رب الافواج نے یہ منصوبہ باندھا تاکہ تمام شان و شوکت کا گھمنڈ پست اور دنیا کے تمام عُہدے دار زیر ہو جائیں۔

The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.

اے ترسیس بیٹی، اب سے اپنی زمین کی کھیتی باڑی کر، اُن کسانوں کی طرح کاشت کاری کر جو دریائے نیل کے کنارے اپنی فصلیں لگاتے ہیں، کیونکہ تیری بندرگاہ جاتی رہی ہے۔

Pass through thy land as a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.

رب نے اپنے ہاتھ کو سمندر کے اوپر اُٹھا کر ممالک کو ہلا دیا۔ اُس نے حکم دیا ہے کہ کنعان کے قلعے برباد ہو جائیں۔

He stretched out his hand over the sea, he shook the kingdoms: the LORD hath given a commandment against the merchant city, to destroy the strong holds thereof.

اُس نے فرمایا، ”اے صیدا بیٹی، اب سے تیری رنگ رلیاں بند رہیں گی۔ اے کنواری جس کی عصمت دری ہوئی ہے، اُٹھ اور سمندر کو پار کر کے قبرص میں پناہ لے۔ لیکن وہاں بھی تُو آرام نہیں کر پائے گی۔“

And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Chittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.

ملکِ بابل پر نظر ڈالو۔ یہ قوم تو نیست و نابود ہو گئی، اُس کا ملک جنگلی جانوروں کا گھر بن گیا ہے۔ اسوریوں نے بُرج بنا کر اُسے گھیر لیا اور اُس کے قلعوں کو ڈھا دیا۔ ملبے کا ڈھیر ہی رہ گیا ہے۔

Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.

اے ترسیس کے عمدہ جہازو، ہائے ہائے کرو، کیونکہ تمہارا قلعہ تباہ ہو گیا ہے!

Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.

تب صور انسان کی یاد سے اُتر جائے گا۔ لیکن 70 سال یعنی ایک بادشاہ کی مدت العمر کے بعد صور اُس طرح بحال ہو جائے گا جس طرح گیت میں کسبی کے بارے میں گایا جاتا ہے،

And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.

”اے فراموش کسبی، چل! اپنا سرود پکڑ کر گلیوں میں پھر! سرود کو خوب بجا، کئی ایک گیت گا تاکہ لوگ تجھے یاد کریں۔“

Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

کیونکہ 70 سال کے بعد رب صور کو بحال کرے گا۔ کسبی دوبارہ پیسے کمائے گی، دنیا کے تمام ممالک اُس کے گاہک بنیں گے۔

And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

لیکن جو پیسے وہ کمائے گی وہ رب کے لئے مخصوص ہوں گے۔ وہ ذخیرہ کرنے کے لئے جمع نہیں ہوں گے بلکہ رب کے حضور ٹھہرنے والوں کو دیئے جائیں گے تاکہ جی بھر کر کھا سکیں اور شاندار کپڑے پہن سکیں۔

And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
