Deuteronomy 22

اگر تجھے کسی ہم وطن بھائی کا بَیل یا بھیڑبکری بھٹکی ہوئی نظر آئے تو اُسے نظرانداز نہ کرنا بلکہ مالک کے پاس واپس لے جانا۔

Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.

اگر مالک کا گھر قریب نہ ہو یا تجھے معلوم نہ ہو کہ مالک کون ہے تو جانور کو اپنے گھر لا کر اُس وقت تک سنبھالے رکھنا جب تک کہ مالک اُسے ڈھونڈنے نہ آئے۔ پھر جانور کو اُسے واپس کر دینا۔

And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.

یہی کچھ کر اگر تیرے ہم وطن بھائی کا گدھا بھٹکا ہوا نظر آئے یا اُس کا گم شدہ کوٹ یا کوئی اَور چیز کہیں نظر آئے۔ اُسے نظرانداز نہ کرنا۔

In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.

اگر تُو دیکھے کہ کسی ہم وطن کا گدھا یا بَیل راستے میں گر گیا ہے تو اُسے نظرانداز نہ کرنا۔ جانور کو کھڑا کرنے میں اپنے بھائی کی مدد کر۔

Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.

عورت کے لئے مردوں کے کپڑے پہننا منع ہے۔ اِسی طرح مرد کے لئے عورتوں کے کپڑے پہننا بھی منع ہے۔ جو ایسا کرتا ہے اُس سے رب تیرے خدا کو گھن آتی ہے۔

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

اگر تجھے کہیں راستے میں، کسی درخت میں یا زمین پر گھونسلا نظر آئے اور پرندہ اپنے بچوں یا انڈوں پر بیٹھا ہوا ہو تو ماں کو بچوں سمیت نہ پکڑنا۔

If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:

تجھے بچے لے جانے کی اجازت ہے لیکن ماں کو چھوڑ دینا تاکہ تُو خوش حال اور دیر تک جیتا رہے۔

But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.

نیا مکان تعمیر کرتے وقت چھت پر چاروں طرف دیوار بنانا۔ ورنہ تُو اُس شخص کی موت کا ذمہ دار ٹھہرے گا جو تیری چھت پر سے گر جائے۔

When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.

اپنے انگور کے باغ میں دو قسم کے بیج نہ بونا۔ ورنہ سب کچھ مقدِس کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس ہو گا، نہ صرف وہ فصل جو تم نے انگور کے علاوہ لگائی بلکہ انگور بھی۔

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.

بَیل اور گدھے کو جوڑ کر ہل نہ چلانا۔

Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.

ایسے کپڑے نہ پہننا جن میں بنتے وقت اُون اور کتان ملائے گئے ہیں۔

Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

اپنی چادر کے چاروں کونوں پر پُھندنے لگانا۔

Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.

اگر کوئی آدمی شادی کرنے کے تھوڑی دیر بعد اپنی بیوی کو پسند نہ کرے

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

اور پھر اُس کی بدنامی کر کے کہے، ”اِس عورت سے شادی کرنے کے بعد مجھے پتا چلا کہ وہ کنواری نہیں ہے۔“

And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:

جواب میں بیوی کے والدین شہر کے دروازے پر جمع ہونے والے بزرگوں کے پاس ثبوت لے آئیں کہ بیٹی شادی سے پہلے کنواری تھی۔

Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:

بیوی کا باپ بزرگوں سے کہے، ”مَیں نے اپنی بیٹی کی شادی اِس آدمی سے کی ہے، لیکن یہ اُس سے نفرت کرتا ہے۔

And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

اب اِس نے اُس کی بدنامی کر کے کہا ہے، ’مجھے پتا چلا کہ تمہاری بیٹی کنواری نہیں ہے۔‘ لیکن یہاں ثبوت ہے کہ میری بیٹی کنواری تھی۔“ پھر والدین شہر کے بزرگوں کو مذکورہ کپڑا دکھائیں۔

And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

تب بزرگ اُس آدمی کو پکڑ کر سزا دیں،

And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;

کیونکہ اُس نے ایک اسرائیلی کنواری کی بدنامی کی ہے۔ اِس کے علاوہ اُسے جرمانے کے طور پر بیوی کے باپ کو چاندی کے 100 سِکے دینے پڑیں گے۔ لازم ہے کہ وہ شوہر کے فرائض ادا کرتا رہے۔ وہ عمر بھر اُسے طلاق نہیں دے سکے گا۔

And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

لیکن اگر آدمی کی بات درست نکلے اور ثابت نہ ہو سکے کہ بیوی شادی سے پہلے کنواری تھی

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

تو اُسے باپ کے گھر لایا جائے۔ وہاں شہر کے آدمی اُسے سنگسار کر دیں۔ کیونکہ اپنے باپ کے گھر میں رہتے ہوئے بدکاری کرنے سے اُس نے اسرائیل میں ایک احمقانہ اور بےدین حرکت کی ہے۔ یوں تُو اپنے درمیان سے بُرائی مٹا دے گا۔

Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

اگر کوئی آدمی کسی کی بیوی کے ساتھ زنا کرے اور وہ پکڑے جائیں تو دونوں کو سزائے موت دینی ہے۔ یوں تُو اسرائیل سے بُرائی مٹا دے گا۔

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

اگر آبادی میں کسی مرد کی ملاقات کسی ایسی کنواری سے ہو جس کی کسی اَور کے ساتھ منگنی ہوئی ہے اور وہ اُس کے ساتھ ہم بستر ہو جائے

If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

تو لازم ہے کہ تم دونوں کو شہر کے دروازے کے پاس لا کر سنگسار کرو۔ وجہ یہ ہے کہ لڑکی نے مدد کے لئے نہ پکارا اگرچہ اُس جگہ لوگ آباد تھے۔ مرد کا جرم یہ تھا کہ اُس نے کسی اَور کی منگیتر کی عصمت دری کی ہے۔ یوں تُو اپنے درمیان سے بُرائی مٹا دے گا۔

Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

لیکن اگر مرد غیرآباد جگہ میں کسی اَور کی منگیتر کی عصمت دری کرے تو صرف اُسی کو سزائے موت دی جائے۔

But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:

لڑکی کو کوئی سزا نہ دینا، کیونکہ اُس نے کچھ نہیں کیا جو موت کے لائق ہو۔ زیادتی کرنے والے کی حرکت اُس شخص کے برابر ہے جس نے کسی پر حملہ کر کے اُسے قتل کر دیا ہے۔

But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:

چونکہ اُس نے لڑکی کو وہاں پایا جہاں لوگ نہیں رہتے، اِس لئے اگرچہ لڑکی نے مدد کے لئے پکارا توبھی اُسے کوئی نہ بچا سکا۔

For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

ہو سکتا ہے کوئی آدمی کسی لڑکی کی عصمت دری کرے جس کی منگنی نہیں ہوئی ہے۔ اگر اُنہیں پکڑا جائے

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

تو وہ لڑکی کے باپ کو چاندی کے 50 سِکے دے۔ لازم ہے کہ وہ اُسی لڑکی سے شادی کرے، کیونکہ اُس نے اُس کی عصمت دری کی ہے۔ نہ صرف یہ بلکہ وہ عمر بھر اُسے طلاق نہیں دے سکتا۔

Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

اپنے باپ کی بیوی سے شادی کرنا منع ہے۔ جو کوئی یہ کرے وہ اپنے باپ کی بےحرمتی کرتا ہے۔

A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.
