II Timothy 1

یہ خط پولس کی طرف سے ہے جو اللہ کی مرضی سے مسیح عیسیٰ کا رسول ہے تاکہ اُس وعدہ کی ہوئی زندگی کا پیغام سنائے جو ہمیں مسیح عیسیٰ میں حاصل ہوتی ہے۔

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

مَیں اپنے پیارے بیٹے تیمُتھیُس کو لکھ رہا ہوں۔ خدا باپ اور ہمارا خداوند مسیح عیسیٰ آپ کو فضل، رحم اور سلامتی عطا کریں۔

To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

مَیں آپ کے لئے خدا کا شکر کرتا ہوں جس کی خدمت مَیں اپنے باپ دادا کی طرح صاف ضمیر سے کرتا ہوں۔ دن رات مَیں لگاتار آپ کو اپنی دعاؤں میں یاد رکھتا ہوں۔

I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

مجھے آپ کے آنسو یاد آتے ہیں، اور مَیں آپ سے ملنے کا آرزومند ہوں تاکہ خوشی سے بھر جاؤں۔

Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

مجھے خاص کر آپ کا مخلص ایمان یاد ہے جو پہلے آپ کی نانی لوئس اور ماں یوُنیکے رکھتی تھیں۔ اور مجھے یقین ہے کہ آپ بھی یہی ایمان رکھتے ہیں۔

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

یہی وجہ ہے کہ مَیں آپ کو ایک بات یاد دلاتا ہوں۔ اللہ نے آپ کو اُس وقت ایک نعمت سے نوازا جب مَیں نے آپ پر ہاتھ رکھے۔ آپ کو اِس نعمت کی آگ کو نئے سرے سے بھڑکانے کی ضرورت ہے۔

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

کیونکہ جس روح سے اللہ نے ہمیں نوازا ہے وہ ہمیں بزدل نہیں بناتا بلکہ ہمیں قوت، محبت اور نظم و ضبط دلاتا ہے۔

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

اِس لئے ہمارے خداوند کے بارے میں گواہی دینے سے نہ شرمائیں، نہ مجھ سے جو مسیح کی خاطر قیدی ہوں۔ اِس کے بجائے میرے ساتھ اللہ کی قوت سے مدد لے کر اُس کی خوش خبری کی خاطر دُکھ اُٹھائیں۔

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

کیونکہ اُس نے ہمیں نجات دے کر مُقدّس زندگی گزارنے کے لئے بُلایا۔ اور یہ چیزیں ہمیں اپنی محنت سے نہیں ملیں بلکہ اللہ کے ارادے اور فضل سے۔ یہ فضل زمانوں کی ابتدا سے پہلے ہمیں مسیح میں دیا گیا

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

لیکن اب ہمارے نجات دہندہ مسیح عیسیٰ کی آمد سے ظاہر ہوا۔ مسیح ہی نے موت کو نیست کر دیا۔ اُسی نے اپنی خوش خبری کے ذریعے لافانی زندگی روشنی میں لا کر ہم پر ظاہر کر دی ہے۔

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

اللہ نے مجھے یہی خوش خبری سنانے کے لئے مناد، رسول اور اُستاد مقرر کیا ہے۔

Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

اِسی وجہ سے مَیں دُکھ اُٹھا رہا ہوں۔ توبھی مَیں شرماتا نہیں، کیونکہ مَیں اُسے جانتا ہوں جس پر مَیں ایمان لایا ہوں، اور مجھے پورا یقین ہے کہ جو کچھ مَیں نے اُس کے حوالے کر دیا ہے اُسے وہ اپنی آمد کے دن تک محفوظ رکھنے کے قابل ہے۔

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

اُن صحت بخش باتوں کے مطابق چلتے رہیں جو آپ نے مجھ سے سن لی ہیں، اور یوں ایمان اور محبت کے ساتھ مسیح عیسیٰ میں زندگی گزاریں۔

Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

جو بیش قیمت چیز آپ کے حوالے کر دی گئی ہے اُسے روح القدس کی مدد سے جو ہم میں سکونت کرتا ہے محفوظ رکھیں۔

That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

آپ کو معلوم ہے کہ صوبہ آسیہ میں تمام لوگوں نے مجھے ترک کر دیا ہے۔ اِن میں فوگلس اور ہرمگنیس بھی شامل ہیں۔

This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

خداوند اُنیسفرس کے گھرانے پر رحم کرے، کیونکہ اُس نے کئی دفعہ مجھے تر و تازہ کیا۔ ہاں، وہ اِس سے کبھی نہ شرمایا کہ مَیں قیدی ہوں۔

The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

بلکہ جب وہ روم شہر پہنچا تو بڑی کوششوں سے میرا کھوج لگا کر مجھے ملا۔

But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.

خداوند کرے کہ وہ قیامت کے دن خداوند سے رحم پائے۔ آپ خود بہتر جانتے ہیں کہ اُس نے اِفسس میں کتنی خدمت کی۔

The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
