II Kings 21

منسّی 12 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 55 سال تھا۔ اُس کی ماں حِفصیباہ تھی۔

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzi–bah.

منسّی کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ اُس نے اُن قوموں کے قابلِ گھن رسم و رواج اپنا لئے جنہیں رب نے اسرائیلیوں کے آگے سے نکال دیا تھا۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

اونچی جگہوں کے جن مندروں کو اُس کے باپ حِزقیاہ نے ڈھا دیا تھا اُنہیں اُس نے نئے سرے سے تعمیر کیا۔ اُس نے بعل دیوتا کی قربان گاہیں بنوائیں اور یسیرت دیوی کا کھمبا کھڑا کیا، بالکل اُسی طرح جس طرح اسرائیل کے بادشاہ اخی اب نے کیا تھا۔ اِن کے علاوہ وہ سورج، چاند بلکہ آسمان کے پورے لشکر کو سجدہ کر کے اُن کی خدمت کرتا تھا۔

For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

اُس نے رب کے گھر میں بھی اپنی قربان گاہیں کھڑی کیں، حالانکہ رب نے اِس مقام کے بارے میں فرمایا تھا، ”مَیں یروشلم میں اپنا نام قائم کروں گا۔“

And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.

لیکن منسّی نے پروا نہ کی بلکہ رب کے گھر کے دونوں صحنوں میں آسمان کے پورے لشکر کے لئے قربان گاہیں بنوائیں۔

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

یہاں تک کہ اُس نے اپنے بیٹے کو بھی قربان کر کے جلا دیا۔ جادوگری اور غیب دانی کرنے کے علاوہ وہ مُردوں کی روحوں سے رابطہ کرنے والوں اور رمّالوں سے بھی مشورہ کرتا تھا۔ غرض اُس نے بہت کچھ کیا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا اور اُسے طیش دلایا۔

And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

یسیرت دیوی کا کھمبا بنوا کر اُس نے اُسے رب کے گھر میں کھڑا کیا، حالانکہ رب نے داؤد اور اُس کے بیٹے سلیمان سے کہا تھا، ”اِس گھر اور اِس شہر یروشلم میں جو مَیں نے تمام اسرائیلی قبیلوں میں سے چن لیا ہے مَیں اپنا نام ابد تک قائم رکھوں گا۔

And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

اگر اسرائیلی احتیاط سے میرے اُن تمام احکام کی پیروی کریں جو موسیٰ نے شریعت میں اُنہیں دیئے تو مَیں کبھی نہیں ہونے دوں گا کہ اسرائیلیوں کو اُس ملک سے جلاوطن کر دیا جائے جو مَیں نے اُن کے باپ دادا کو عطا کیا تھا۔“

Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.

لیکن لوگ رب کے تابع نہ رہے، اور منسّی نے اُنہیں ایسے غلط کام کرنے پر اُکسایا جو اُن قوموں سے بھی سرزد نہیں ہوئے تھے جنہیں رب نے ملک میں داخل ہوتے وقت اُن کے آگے سے تباہ کر دیا تھا۔

But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

آخرکار رب نے اپنے خادموں یعنی نبیوں کی معرفت اعلان کیا،

And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,

”یہوداہ کے بادشاہ منسّی سے قابلِ گھن گناہ سرزد ہوئے ہیں۔ اُس کی حرکتیں ملک میں اسرائیل سے پہلے رہنے والے اموریوں کی نسبت کہیں زیادہ شریر ہیں۔ اپنے بُتوں سے اُس نے یہوداہ کے باشندوں کو گناہ کرنے پر اُکسایا ہے۔

Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:

چنانچہ رب اسرائیل کا خدا فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں یروشلم اور یہوداہ پر ایسی آفت نازل کروں گا کہ جسے بھی اِس کی خبر ملے گی اُس کے کان بجنے لگیں گے۔

Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

مَیں یروشلم کو اُسی ناپ سے ناپوں گا جس سے سامریہ کو ناپ چکا ہوں۔ مَیں اُسے اُس ترازو میں رکھ کر تولوں گا جس میں اخی اب کا گھرانا تول چکا ہوں۔ جس طرح برتن صفائی کرتے وقت پونچھ کر اُلٹے رکھے جاتے ہیں اُسی طرح مَیں یروشلم کا صفایا کر دوں گا۔

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.

اُس وقت مَیں اپنی میراث کا بچا کھچا حصہ بھی ترک کر دوں گا۔ مَیں اُنہیں اُن کے دشمنوں کے حوالے کر دوں گا جو اُن کی لُوٹ مار کریں گے۔

And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;

اور وجہ یہی ہو گی کہ اُن سے ایسی حرکتیں سرزد ہوئی ہیں جو مجھے ناپسند ہیں۔ اُس دن سے لے کر جب اُن کے باپ دادا مصر سے نکل آئے آج تک وہ مجھے طیش دلاتے رہے ہیں‘۔“

Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

لیکن منسّی نے نہ صرف یہوداہ کے باشندوں کو بُت پرستی اور ایسے کام کرنے پر اُکسایا جو رب کو ناپسند تھے بلکہ اُس نے بےشمار بےقصور لوگوں کو قتل بھی کیا۔ اُن کے خون سے یروشلم ایک سرے سے دوسرے سرے تک بھر گیا۔

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

باقی جو کچھ منسّی کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔ اُس میں اُس کے گناہوں کا ذکر بھی کیا گیا ہے۔

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

جب وہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے اُس کے محل کے باغ میں دفنایا گیا جو عُزّا کا باغ کہلاتا ہے۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا امون تخت نشین ہوا۔

And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

امون 22 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا اور دو سال تک یروشلم میں حکومت کرتا رہا۔ اُس کی ماں مسلّمت بنت حروص یُطبہ کی رہنے والی تھی۔

Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

اپنے باپ منسّی کی طرح امون ایسا غلط کام کرتا رہا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.

وہ ہر طرح سے اپنے باپ کے بُرے نمونے پر چل کر اُن بُتوں کی خدمت اور پوجا کرتا رہا جن کی پوجا اُس کا باپ کرتا آیا تھا۔

And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:

رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کو اُس نے ترک کیا، اور وہ اُس کی راہوں پر نہیں چلتا تھا۔

And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.

ایک دن امون کے کچھ افسروں نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کر کے اُسے محل میں قتل کر دیا۔

And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.

لیکن اُمّت نے تمام سازش کرنے والوں کو مار ڈالا اور امون کے بیٹے یوسیاہ کو بادشاہ بنا دیا۔

And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

باقی جو کچھ امون کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں بیان کیا گیا ہے۔

Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

اُسے عُزّا کے باغ میں اُس کی اپنی قبر میں دفن کیا گیا۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا یوسیاہ تخت نشین ہوا۔

And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.
