Psalms 114

Da Israel drog ut av Egypten, Jakobs hus fra et folk med fremmed tungemål,
When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
da blev Juda hans helligdom, Israel hans rike.
Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
Havet så det og flydde, Jordan vendte om og løp tilbake.
The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
Fjellene hoppet som værer, haugene som unge lam.
The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
Hvad har hendt dig, du hav, at du flyr, du Jordan, at du vender om og løper tilbake,
What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
I fjell, at I hopper som værer, I hauger som unge lam?
Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
For Herrens åsyn bev, du jord, for Jakobs Guds åsyn,
Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
han som gjør klippen til en vannrik sjø, den hårde sten til en vannkilde!
Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
