Zechariah 2

I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.

مَیں نے اپنی نظر دوبارہ اُٹھائی تو ایک آدمی کو دیکھا جس کے ہاتھ میں فیتہ تھا۔

Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

مَیں نے پوچھا، ”آپ کہاں جا رہے ہیں؟“ اُس نے جواب دیا، ”یروشلم کی پیمائش کرنے جا رہا ہوں۔ مَیں معلوم کرنا چاہتا ہوں کہ شہر کی لمبائی اور چوڑائی کتنی ہونی چاہئے۔“

And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

تب وہ فرشتہ روانہ ہوا جو اب تک مجھ سے بات کر رہا تھا۔ لیکن راستے میں ایک اَور فرشتہ اُس سے ملنے آیا۔

And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:

اِس دوسرے فرشتے نے کہا، ”بھاگ کر پیمائش کرنے والے نوجوان کو بتا دے، ’انسان و حیوان کی اِتنی بڑی تعداد ہو گی کہ آئندہ یروشلم کی فصیل نہیں ہو گی۔

For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

رب فرماتا ہے کہ اُس وقت مَیں آگ کی چاردیواری بن کر اُس کی حفاظت کروں گا، مَیں اُس کے درمیان رہ کر اُس کی عزت و جلال کا باعث ہوں گا‘۔“

Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اُٹھو، اُٹھو! شمالی ملک سے بھاگ آؤ۔ کیونکہ مَیں نے خود تمہیں چاروں طرف منتشر کر دیا تھا۔

Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

لیکن اب مَیں فرماتا ہوں کہ وہاں سے نکل آؤ۔ صیون کے جتنے لوگ بابل میں رہتے ہیں وہاں سے بچ نکلیں!“

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

کیونکہ رب الافواج جس نے مجھے بھیجا وہ اُن قوموں کے بارے میں جنہوں نے تمہیں لُوٹ لیا فرماتا ہے، ”جو تمہیں چھیڑے وہ میری آنکھ کی پُتلی کو چھیڑے گا۔

For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

اِس لئے یقین کرو کہ مَیں اپنا ہاتھ اُن کے خلاف اُٹھاؤں گا۔ اُن کے اپنے غلام اُنہیں لُوٹ لیں گے۔“ تب تم جان لو گے کہ رب الافواج نے مجھے بھیجا ہے۔

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اے صیون بیٹی، خوشی کے نعرے لگا! کیونکہ مَیں آ رہا ہوں، مَیں تیرے درمیان سکونت کروں گا۔

And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

اُس دن بہت سی اقوام میرے ساتھ پیوست ہو کر میری قوم کا حصہ بن جائیں گی۔ مَیں خود تیرے درمیان سکونت کروں گا۔“ تب تُو جان لے گی کہ رب الافواج نے مجھے تیرے پاس بھیجا ہے۔

And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

مُقدّس ملک میں یہوداہ رب کی موروثی زمین بنے گا، اور وہ یروشلم کو دوبارہ چن لے گا۔

Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

تمام انسان رب کے سامنے خاموش ہو جائیں، کیونکہ وہ اُٹھ کر اپنی مُقدّس سکونت گاہ سے نکل آیا ہے۔
