Zechariah 3

And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

اِس کے بعد رب نے مجھے رویا میں امامِ اعظم یشوع کو دکھایا۔ وہ رب کے فرشتے کے سامنے کھڑا تھا، اور ابلیس اُس پر الزام لگانے کے لئے اُس کے دائیں ہاتھ کھڑا ہو گیا تھا۔

And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

رب نے ابلیس سے فرمایا، ”اے ابلیس، رب تجھے ملامت کرتا ہے! رب جس نے یروشلم کو چن لیا وہ تجھے ڈانٹتا ہے! یہ آدمی تو بال بال بچ گیا ہے، اُس لکڑی کی طرح جو بھڑکتی آگ میں سے چھین لی گئی ہے۔“

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.

یشوع گندے کپڑے پہنے ہوئے فرشتے کے سامنے کھڑا تھا۔

And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

جو افراد ساتھ کھڑے تھے اُنہیں فرشتے نے حکم دیا، ”اُس کے مَیلے کپڑے اُتار دو۔“ پھر یشوع سے مخاطب ہوا، ”دیکھ، مَیں نے تیرا قصور تجھ سے دُور کر دیا ہے، اور اب مَیں تجھے شاندار سفید کپڑے پہنا دیتا ہوں۔“

And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.

مَیں نے کہا، ”وہ اُس کے سر پر پاک صاف پگڑی باندھیں!“ چنانچہ اُنہوں نے یشوع کے سر پر پاک صاف پگڑی باندھ کر اُسے نئے کپڑے پہنائے۔ رب کا فرشتہ ساتھ کھڑا رہا۔

And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,

یشوع سے اُس نے بڑی سنجیدگی سے کہا،

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.

”رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ’میری راہوں پر چل کر میرے احکام پر عمل کر تو تُو میرے گھر کی راہنمائی اور اُس کی بارگاہوں کی دیکھ بھال کرے گا۔ پھر مَیں تیرے لئے یہاں آنے اور حاضرین میں کھڑے ہونے کا راستہ قائم رکھوں گا۔

Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.

اے امامِ اعظم یشوع، سن! تُو اور تیرے سامنے بیٹھے تیرے امام بھائی مل کر اُس وقت کی طرف اشارہ ہیں جب مَیں اپنے خادم کو جو کونپل کہلاتا ہے آنے دوں گا۔

For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

دیکھو وہ جوہر جو مَیں نے یشوع کے سامنے رکھا ہے۔ اُس ایک ہی پتھر پر سات آنکھیں ہیں۔‘ رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں اُس پر کتبہ کندہ کر کے ایک ہی دن میں اِس ملک کا گناہ مٹا دوں گا۔

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.

اُس دن تم ایک دوسرے کو اپنی انگور کی بیل اور اپنے انجیر کے درخت کے سائے میں بیٹھنے کی دعوت دو گے۔‘ یہ رب الافواج کا فرمان ہے۔“
