Ruth 3

Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

ایک دن نعومی روت سے مخاطب ہوئی، ”بیٹی، مَیں آپ کے لئے گھر کا بندوبست کرنا چاہتی ہوں، ایسی جگہ جہاں آپ کی ضروریات آئندہ بھی پوری ہوتی رہیں گی۔

And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.

اب دیکھیں، جس آدمی کی نوکرانیوں کے ساتھ آپ نے بالیں چنی ہیں وہ ہمارا قریبی رشتے دار ہے۔ آج شام کو بوعز گاہنے کی جگہ پر جَو پھٹکے گا۔

Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

تو سن لیں، اچھی طرح نہا کر خوشبودار تیل لگا لیں اور اپنا سب سے خوب صورت لباس پہن لیں۔ پھر گاہنے کی جگہ جائیں۔ لیکن اُسے پتا نہ چلے کہ آپ آئی ہیں۔ جب وہ کھانے پینے سے فارغ ہو جائیں

And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

تو دیکھ لیں کہ بوعز سونے کے لئے کہاں لیٹ جاتا ہے۔ پھر جب وہ سو جائے گا تو وہاں جائیں اور کمبل کو اُس کے پیروں سے اُتار کر اُن کے پاس لیٹ جائیں۔ باقی جو کچھ کرنا ہے وہ آپ کو اُسی وقت بتائے گا۔“

And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.

روت نے جواب دیا، ”ٹھیک ہے۔ جو کچھ بھی آپ نے کہا ہے مَیں کروں گی۔“

And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.

وہ اپنی ساس کی ہدایت کے مطابق تیار ہوئی اور شام کے وقت گاہنے کی جگہ پر پہنچی۔

And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

وہاں بوعز کھانے پینے اور خوشی منانے کے بعد جَو کے ڈھیر کے پاس لیٹ کر سو گیا۔ پھر روت چپکے سے اُس کے پاس آئی۔ اُس کے پیروں سے کمبل ہٹا کر وہ اُن کے پاس لیٹ گئی۔

And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.

آدھی رات کو بوعز گھبرا گیا۔ ٹٹول ٹٹول کر اُسے پتا چلا کہ پیروں کے پاس عورت پڑی ہے۔

And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.

اُس نے پوچھا، ”کون ہے؟“ روت نے جواب دیا، ”آپ کی خادمہ روت۔ میری ایک گزارش ہے۔ چونکہ آپ میرے قریبی رشتے دار ہیں اِس لئے آپ کا حق ہے کہ میری ضروریات پوری کریں۔ مہربانی کر کے اپنے لباس کا دامن مجھ پر بچھا کر ظاہر کریں کہ میرے ساتھ شادی کریں گے۔“

And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.

بوعز بولا، ”بیٹی، رب آپ کو برکت دے! اب آپ نے اپنے سُسرال سے وفاداری کا پہلے کی نسبت زیادہ اظہار کیا ہے، کیونکہ آپ جوان آدمیوں کے پیچھے نہ لگیں، خواہ غریب ہوں یا امیر۔

And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.

بیٹی، اب فکر نہ کریں۔ مَیں ضرور آپ کی یہ گزارش پوری کروں گا۔ آخر تمام مقامی لوگ جان گئے ہیں کہ آپ شریف عورت ہیں۔

And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.

آپ کی بات سچ ہے کہ مَیں آپ کا قریبی رشتے دار ہوں اور یہ میرا حق ہے کہ آپ کی ضروریات پوری کروں۔ لیکن ایک اَور آدمی ہے جس کا آپ سے زیادہ قریبی رشتہ ہے۔

Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

رات کے لئے یہاں ٹھہریں! کل مَیں اُس آدمی سے بات کروں گا۔ اگر وہ آپ سے شادی کر کے رشتے داری کا حق ادا کرنا چاہے تو ٹھیک ہے۔ اگر نہیں تو رب کی قَسم، مَیں یہ ضرور کروں گا۔ آپ صبح کے وقت تک یہیں لیٹی رہیں۔“

And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.

چنانچہ روت بوعز کے پیروں کے پاس لیٹی رہی۔ لیکن وہ صبح منہ اندھیرے اُٹھ کر چلی گئی تاکہ کوئی اُسے پہچان نہ سکے، کیونکہ بوعز نے کہا تھا، ”کسی کو پتا نہ چلے کہ کوئی عورت یہاں گاہنے کی جگہ پر میرے پاس آئی ہے۔“

Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.

روت کے جانے سے پہلے بوعز بولا، ”اپنی چادر بچھا دیں!“ پھر اُس نے کوئی برتن چھ دفعہ جَو کے دانوں سے بھر کر چادر میں ڈال دیا اور اُسے روت کے سر پر رکھ دیا۔ پھر وہ شہر میں واپس چلا گیا۔

And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.

جب روت گھر پہنچی تو ساس نے پوچھا، ”بیٹی، وقت کیسا رہا؟“ روت نے اُسے سب کچھ سنایا جو بوعز نے جواب میں کیا تھا۔

And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.

روت بولی، ”جَو کے یہ دانے بھی اُس کی طرف سے ہیں۔ وہ نہیں چاہتا تھا کہ مَیں خالی ہاتھ آپ کے پاس واپس آؤں۔“

Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.

یہ سن کر نعومی نے روت کو تسلی دی، ”بیٹی، جب تک کوئی نتیجہ نہ نکلے یہاں ٹھہر جائیں۔ اب یہ آدمی آرام نہیں کرے گا بلکہ آج ہی معاملے کا حل نکالے گا۔“
