Malachi 3

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

رب الافواج جواب میں فرماتا ہے، ”دیکھ، مَیں اپنے پیغمبر کو بھیج دیتا ہوں جو میرے آگے آگے چل کر میرا راستہ تیار کرے گا۔ تب جس رب کو تم تلاش کر رہے ہو وہ اچانک اپنے گھر میں آ موجود ہو گا۔ ہاں، عہد کا پیغمبر جس کی تم شدت سے آرزو کرتے ہو وہ آنے والا ہے!“

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

لیکن جب وہ آئے تو کون یہ برداشت کر سکے گا؟ کون قائم رہ سکے گا جب وہ ہم پر ظاہر ہو جائے گا؟ وہ تو دھات ڈھالنے والے کی آگ یا دھوبی کے تیز صابن کی مانند ہو گا۔

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

وہ بیٹھ کر چاندی کو پگھلا کر پاک صاف کرے گا۔ جس طرح سونے چاندی کو پگھلا کر پاک صاف کیا جاتا ہے اُسی طرح وہ لاوی کے قبیلے کو پاک صاف کرے گا۔ تب وہ رب کو راست قربانیاں پیش کریں گے۔

Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

پھر یہوداہ اور یروشلم کی قربانیاں قدیم زمانے کی طرح دوبارہ رب کو قبول ہوں گی۔

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں تمہاری عدالت کرنے کے لئے تمہارے پاس آؤں گا۔ جلد ہی مَیں اُن کے خلاف گواہی دوں گا جو میرا خوف نہیں مانتے، جو جادوگر اور زناکار ہیں، جو جھوٹی قَسم کھاتے، مزدوروں کا حق مارتے، بیواؤں اور یتیموں پر ظلم کرتے اور اجنبیوں کا حق مارتے ہیں۔

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

مَیں، رب تبدیل نہیں ہوتا، لیکن تم اب تک یعقوب کی اولاد رہے ہو۔

Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?

اپنے باپ دادا کے زمانے سے لے کر آج تک تم نے میرے احکام سے دُور رہ کر اُن پر دھیان نہیں دیا۔ رب الافواج فرماتا ہے کہ میرے پاس واپس آؤ! تب مَیں بھی تمہارے پاس واپس آؤں گا۔ لیکن تم اعتراض کرتے ہو، ’ہم کیوں واپس آئیں، ہم سے کیا سرزد ہوا ہے؟‘

Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

کیا مناسب ہے کہ انسان اللہ کو ٹھگے؟ ہرگز نہیں! لیکن تم لوگ یہی کچھ کر رہے ہو۔ تم پوچھتے ہو، ’ہم کس طرح تجھے ٹھگتے ہیں؟‘ اِس میں کہ تم مجھے اپنی پیداوار کا دسواں حصہ نہیں دیتے۔ نیز، تم اماموں کو قربانیوں کا وہ حصہ نہیں دیتے جو اُن کا حق بنتا ہے۔

Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

پوری قوم مجھے ٹھگتی رہتی ہے، اِس لئے مَیں نے تم پر لعنت بھیجی ہے۔“

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”میرے گھر کے گودام میں اپنی پیداوار کا پورا دسواں حصہ جمع کرو تاکہ اُس میں خوراک دست یاب ہو۔ مجھے اِس میں آزما کر دیکھو کہ مَیں اپنے وعدے کو پورا کرتا ہوں کہ نہیں۔ کیونکہ مَیں تم سے وعدہ کرتا ہوں کہ جواب میں مَیں آسمان کے دریچے کھول کر تم پر حد سے زیادہ برکت برسا دوں گا۔“

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں کیڑوں کو تمہاری فصلوں سے دُور رکھوں گا تاکہ تمہارے کھیتوں کی پیداوار اور تمہارے انگور خراب نہ ہو جائیں بلکہ پک جائیں۔

And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

تب تمہارا ملک اِتنا راحت بخش ہو گا کہ تمام اقوام تمہیں مبارک کہیں گی۔“ یہ رب الافواج کا فرمان ہے۔

Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?

رب فرماتا ہے، ”تم میرے بارے میں کفر بکتے ہو۔ تم کہتے ہو، ’ہم کیونکر کفر بکتے ہیں؟‘

Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

اِس میں کہ تم کہتے ہو، ’اللہ کی خدمت کرنا عبث ہے۔ کیونکہ رب الافواج کی ہدایات پر دھیان دینے اور منہ لٹکا کر اُس کے حضور پھرنے سے ہمیں کیا فائدہ ہوا ہے؟

And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.

چنانچہ گستاخ لوگوں کو مبارک ہو، کیونکہ بےدین پھلتے پھولتے اور اللہ کو آزمانے والے ہی بچے رہتے ہیں‘۔“

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

لیکن پھر رب کا خوف ماننے والے آپس میں بات کرنے لگے، اور رب نے غور سے اُن کی سنی۔ اُس کے حضور یادگاری کی کتاب لکھی گئی جس میں اُن کے نام درج ہیں جو رب کا خوف مانتے اور اُس کے نام کا احترام کرتے ہیں۔

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”جس دن مَیں حرکت میں آؤں گا اُس دن وہ میری خاص ملکیت ہوں گے۔ مَیں اُن پر یوں رحم کروں گا، جس طرح باپ اپنے اُس بیٹے پر ترس کھاتا ہے جو اُس کی خدمت کرتا ہے۔

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

اُس وقت تمہیں راست باز اور بےدین کا فرق دوبارہ نظر آئے گا۔ صاف ظاہر ہو جائے گا کہ اللہ کی خدمت کرنے والوں اور دوسروں میں کیا فرق ہے۔“
