Isaiah 55

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

”کیا تم پیاسے ہو؟ آؤ، سب پانی کے پاس آؤ! کیا تمہارے پاس پیسے نہیں؟ اِدھر آؤ، سودا خرید کر کھانا کھاؤ۔ یہاں کی مَے اور دودھ مفت ہے۔ آؤ، اُسے پیسے دیئے بغیر خریدو۔

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

اُس پر پیسے کیوں خرچ کرتے ہو جو روٹی نہیں ہے؟ جو سیر نہیں کرتا اُس کے لئے محنت مشقت کیوں کرتے ہو؟ سنو، سنو میری بات! پھر تم اچھی خوراک کھاؤ گے، بہترین کھانے سے لطف اندوز ہو گے۔

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

کان لگا کر میرے پاس آؤ! سنو تو جیتے رہو گے۔ مَیں تمہارے ساتھ ابدی عہد باندھوں گا، تمہیں اُن اَن مٹ مہربانیوں سے نوازوں گا جن کا وعدہ داؤد سے کیا تھا۔

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

دیکھ، مَیں نے مقرر کیا کہ وہ اقوام کے سامنے میرا گواہ ہو، کہ اقوام کا رئیس اور حکمران ہو۔

Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

دیکھ، تُو ایسی قوم کو بُلائے گا جسے تُو نہیں جانتا، اور تجھ سے ناواقف قوم رب تیرے خدا کی خاطر تیرے پاس دوڑی چلی آئے گی۔ کیونکہ جو اسرائیل کا قدوس ہے اُس نے تجھے شان و شوکت عطا کی ہے۔“

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

ابھی رب کو تلاش کرو جبکہ اُسے پایا جا سکتا ہے۔ ابھی اُسے پکارو جبکہ وہ قریب ہی ہے۔

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

بےدین اپنی بُری راہ اور شریر اپنے بُرے خیالات چھوڑے۔ وہ رب کے پاس واپس آئے تو وہ اُس پر رحم کرے گا۔ وہ ہمارے خدا کے پاس واپس آئے، کیونکہ وہ فراخ دلی سے معاف کر دیتا ہے۔

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

کیونکہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”میرے خیالات اور تمہارے خیالات میں اور میری راہوں اور تمہاری راہوں میں بڑا فرق ہے۔

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

جتنا آسمان زمین سے اونچا ہے اُتنی ہی میری راہیں تمہاری راہوں اور میرے خیالات تمہارے خیالات سے بلند ہیں۔

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

بارش اور برف پر غور کرو! زمین پر پڑنے کے بعد یہ خالی ہاتھ واپس نہیں آتی بلکہ زمین کو یوں سیراب کرتی ہے کہ پودے پھوٹنے اور پھلنے پھولنے لگتے ہیں بلکہ پکتے پکتے بیج بونے والے کو بیج اور بھوکے کو روٹی مہیا کرتے ہیں۔

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

میرے منہ سے نکلا ہوا کلام بھی ایسا ہی ہے۔ وہ خالی ہاتھ واپس نہیں آئے گا بلکہ میری مرضی پوری کرے گا اور اُس میں کامیاب ہو گا جس کے لئے مَیں نے اُسے بھیجا تھا۔

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

کیونکہ تم خوشی سے نکلو گے، تمہیں سلامتی سے لایا جائے گا۔ پہاڑ اور پہاڑیاں تمہارے آنے پر باغ باغ ہو کر شادیانہ بجائیں گی، اور میدان کے تمام درخت تالیاں بجائیں گے۔

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

کانٹےدار جھاڑی کی بجائے جونیپر کا درخت اُگے گا، اور بچھوبوٹی کی بجائے مہندی پھلے پھولے گی۔ یوں رب کے نام کو جلال ملے گا، اور اُس کی قدرت کا ابدی اور اَن مٹ نشان قائم ہو گا۔“
