Hosea 9

Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

اے اسرائیل، خوشی نہ منا، دیگر اقوام کی طرح شادیانہ مت بجا۔ کیونکہ تُو زنا کرتے کرتے اپنے خدا سے دُور ہوتا جا رہا ہے۔ جہاں بھی لوگ گندم گاہتے ہیں وہاں تُو جا کر اپنی عصمت فروشی کے پیسے جمع کرتا ہے، یہی کچھ تجھے پیارا ہے۔

The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

اِس لئے آئندہ گندم گاہنے اور انگور کا رس نکالنے کی جگہیں اُنہیں خوراک مہیا نہیں کریں گی، اور انگور کی فصل اُنہیں رس مہیا نہیں کرے گی۔

They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

اسرائیلی رب کے ملک میں نہیں رہیں گے بلکہ اُنہیں مصر واپس جانا پڑے گا، اُنہیں اسور میں ناپاک چیزیں کھانی پڑیں گی۔

They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.

وہاں وہ رب کو نہ مَے کی اور نہ ذبح کی قربانیاں پیش کر سکیں گے۔ اُن کی روٹی ماتم کرنے والوں کی روٹی جیسی ہو گی یعنی جو بھی اُسے کھائے وہ ناپاک ہو جائے گا۔ ہاں، اُن کا کھانا صرف اُن کی اپنی بھوک مٹانے کے لئے ہو گا، اور وہ رب کے گھر میں نہیں آئے گا۔

What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

اُس وقت تم عیدوں پر کیا کرو گے؟ رب کے تہواروں کو تم کیسے مناؤ گے؟

For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.

جو تباہ شدہ ملک سے نکلیں گے اُنہیں مصر اکٹھا کرے گا، اُنہیں میمفِس دفنائے گا۔ خود رَو پودے اُن کی قیمتی چاندی پر قبضہ کریں گے، کانٹےدار جھاڑیاں اُن کے گھروں پر چھا جائیں گی۔

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

سزا کے دن آ گئے ہیں، حساب کتاب کے دن پہنچ گئے ہیں۔ اسرائیل یہ بات جان لے۔ تم کہتے ہو، ”یہ نبی احمق ہے، روح کا یہ بندہ پاگل ہے۔“ کیونکہ جتنا سنگین تمہارا گناہ ہے اُتنے ہی زور سے تم میری مخالفت کرتے ہو۔

The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

نبی میرے خدا کی طرف سے اسرائیل کا پہرے دار بنایا گیا ہے۔ لیکن جہاں بھی وہ جائے وہاں اُسے پھنسانے کے پھندے لگائے گئے ہیں، بلکہ اُسے اُس کے خدا کے گھر میں بھی ستایا جاتا ہے۔

They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

اُن سے نہایت ہی خراب کام سرزد ہوا ہے، ایسا شریر کام جیسا جِبعہ کے باشندوں سے ہوا تھا۔ اللہ اُن کا قصور یاد کر کے اُن کے گناہوں کی مناسب سزا دے گا۔

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal–peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”جب میرا اسرائیل سے پہلا واسطہ پڑا تو ریگستان میں انگور جیسا لگ رہا تھا۔ تمہارے باپ دادا انجیر کے درخت پر لگے پہلے پکنے والے پھل جیسے نظر آئے۔ لیکن بعل فغور کے پاس پہنچتے ہی اُنہوں نے اپنے آپ کو اُس شرم ناک بُت کے لئے مخصوص کر لیا۔ تب وہ اپنے عاشق جیسے مکروہ ہو گئے۔

As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.

اب اسرائیل کی شان و شوکت پرندے کی طرح اُڑ کر غائب ہو جائے گی۔ آئندہ نہ کوئی اُمید سے ہو گی، نہ بچہ جنے گی۔

Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

اگر وہ اپنے بچوں کو پروان چڑھنے تک پالیں بھی توبھی مَیں اُنہیں بےاولاد کر دوں گا۔ ایک بھی نہیں رہے گا۔ اُن پر افسوس جب مَیں اُن سے دُور ہو جاؤں گا۔

Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.

پہلے جب مَیں نے اسرائیل پر نظر ڈالی تو وہ صور کی مانند شاندار تھا، اُسے شاداب جگہ پر پودے کی طرح لگایا گیا تھا۔ لیکن اب اُسے اپنی اولاد کو باہر لا کر قاتل کے حوالے کرنا پڑے گا۔“

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

اے رب، اُنہیں دے! کیا دے؟ ہونے دے کہ اُن کے بچے پیٹ میں ضائع ہو جائیں، کہ عورتیں دودھ نہ پلا سکیں۔

All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”جب اُن کی تمام بےدینی جِلجال میں ظاہر ہوئی تو مَیں نے اُن سے نفرت کی۔ اُن کی بُری حرکتوں کی وجہ سے مَیں اُنہیں اپنے گھر سے نکال دوں گا۔ آئندہ مَیں اُنہیں پیار نہیں کروں گا۔ اُن کے تمام راہنما سرکش ہیں۔

Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.

اسرائیل کو مارا گیا، لوگوں کی جڑ سوکھ گئی ہے، اور وہ پھل نہیں لا سکتے۔ اُن کے بچے پیدا ہو بھی جائیں تو مَیں اُن کی قیمتی اولاد کو مار ڈالوں گا۔“

My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

میرا خدا اُنہیں رد کرے گا، اِس لئے کہ اُنہوں نے اُس کی نہیں سنی۔ چنانچہ اُنہیں دیگر اقوام میں مارے مارے پھرنا پڑے گا۔
