Ezekiel 31

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

یہویاکین بادشاہ کی جلاوطنی کے گیارھویں سال میں رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا۔ تیسرے مہینے کا پہلا دن تھا۔ اُس نے فرمایا،

Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

”اے آدم زاد، مصری بادشاہ فرعون اور اُس کی شان و شوکت سے کہہ، ’کون تجھ جیسا عظیم تھا؟

Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

تُو سرو کا درخت، لبنان کا دیودار کا درخت تھا، جس کی خوب صورت اور گھنی شاخیں جنگل کو سایہ دیتی تھیں۔ وہ اِتنا بڑا تھا کہ اُس کی چوٹی بادلوں میں اوجھل تھی۔

The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

پانی کی کثرت نے اُسے اِتنی ترقی دی، گہرے چشموں نے اُسے بڑا بنا دیا۔ اُس کی ندیاں تنے کے چاروں طرف بہتی تھیں اور پھر آگے جا کر کھیت کے باقی تمام درختوں کو بھی سیراب کرتی تھیں۔

Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

چنانچہ وہ دیگر درختوں سے کہیں زیادہ بڑا تھا۔ اُس کی شاخیں بڑھتی اور اُس کی ٹہنیاں لمبی ہوتی گئیں۔ وافر پانی کے باعث وہ خوب پھیلتا گیا۔

All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

تمام پرندے اپنے گھونسلے اُس کی شاخوں میں بناتے تھے۔ اُس کی شاخوں کی آڑ میں جنگلی جانوروں کے بچے پیدا ہوتے، اُس کے سائے میں تمام عظیم قومیں بستی تھیں۔

Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

چونکہ درخت کی جڑوں کو پانی کی کثرت ملتی تھی اِس لئے اُس کی لمبائی اور شاخیں قابلِ تعریف اور خوب صورت بن گئیں۔

The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

باغِ خدا کے دیودار کے درخت اُس کے برابر نہیں تھے۔ نہ جونیپر کی ٹہنیاں، نہ چنار کی شاخیں اُس کی شاخوں کے برابر تھیں۔ باغِ خدا میں کوئی بھی درخت اُس کی خوب صورتی کا مقابلہ نہیں کر سکتا تھا۔

I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

مَیں نے خود اُسے متعدد ڈالیاں مہیا کر کے خوب صورت بنایا تھا۔ اللہ کے باغِ عدن کے تمام دیگر درخت اُس سے رشک کھاتے تھے۔

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

لیکن اب رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ جب درخت اِتنا بڑا ہو گیا کہ اُس کی چوٹی بادلوں میں اوجھل ہو گئی تو وہ اپنے قد پر فخر کر کے مغرور ہو گیا۔

I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

یہ دیکھ کر مَیں نے اُسے اقوام کے سب سے بڑے حکمران کے حوالے کر دیا تاکہ وہ اُس کی بےدینی کے مطابق اُس سے نپٹ لے۔ مَیں نے اُسے نکال دیا،

And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

تو اجنبی اقوام کے سب سے ظالم لوگوں نے اُسے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر کے زمین پر چھوڑ دیا۔ تب اُس کی شاخیں پہاڑوں پر اور تمام وادیوں میں گر گئیں، اُس کی ٹہنیاں ٹوٹ کر ملک کی تمام گھاٹیوں میں پڑی رہیں۔ دنیا کی تمام اقوام اُس کے سائے میں سے نکل کر وہاں سے چلی گئیں۔

Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

تمام پرندے اُس کے کٹے ہوئے تنے پر بیٹھ گئے، تمام جنگلی جانور اُس کی سوکھی ہوئی شاخوں پر لیٹ گئے۔

To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

یہ اِس لئے ہوا کہ آئندہ پانی کے کنارے پر لگا کوئی بھی درخت اِتنا بڑا نہ ہو کہ اُس کی چوٹی بادلوں میں اوجھل ہو جائے اور نتیجتاً وہ اپنے آپ کو دوسروں سے برتر سمجھے۔ کیونکہ سب کے لئے موت اور زمین کی گہرائیاں مقرر ہیں، سب کو پاتال میں اُتر کر مُردوں کے درمیان بسنا ہے۔

Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ جس وقت یہ درخت پاتال میں اُتر گیا اُس دن مَیں نے گہرائیوں کے چشموں کو اُس پر ماتم کرنے دیا اور اُن کی ندیوں کو روک دیا تاکہ پانی اِتنی کثرت سے نہ بہے۔ اُس کی خاطر مَیں نے لبنان کو ماتمی لباس پہنائے۔ تب کھلے میدان کے تمام درخت مُرجھا گئے۔

I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.

وہ اِتنے دھڑام سے گر گیا جب مَیں نے اُسے پاتال میں اُن کے پاس اُتار دیا جو گڑھے میں اُتر چکے تھے کہ دیگر اقوام کو دھچکا لگا۔ لیکن باغِ عدن کے باقی تمام درختوں کو تسلی ملی۔ کیونکہ گو لبنان کے اِن چیدہ اور بہترین درختوں کو پانی کی کثرت ملتی رہی تھی تاہم یہ بھی پاتال میں اُتر گئے تھے۔

They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.

گو یہ بڑے درخت کی طاقت رہے تھے اور اقوام کے درمیان رہ کر اُس کے سائے میں اپنا گھر بنا لیا تھا توبھی یہ بڑے درخت کے ساتھ وہاں اُتر گئے جہاں مقتول اُن کے انتظار میں تھے۔

To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

اے مصر، عظمت اور شان کے لحاظ سے باغِ عدن کا کون سا درخت تیرا مقابلہ کر سکتا ہے؟ لیکن تجھے باغِ عدن کے دیگر درختوں کے ساتھ زمین کی گہرائیوں میں اُتارا جائے گا۔ وہاں تُو نامختونوں اور مقتولوں کے درمیان پڑا رہے گا۔ رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ یہی فرعون اور اُس کی شان و شوکت کا انجام ہو گا‘۔“
