Ezekiel 3

Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

اُس نے فرمایا، ”اے آدم زاد، جو کچھ تجھے دیا جا رہا ہے اُسے کھا لے! طومار کو کھا، پھر جا کر اسرائیلی قوم سے مخاطب ہو جا۔“

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

مَیں نے اپنا منہ کھولا تو اُس نے مجھے طومار کھلایا۔

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

ساتھ ساتھ اُس نے فرمایا، ”آدم زاد، جو طومار مَیں تجھے کھلاتا ہوں اُسے کھا، پیٹ بھر کر کھا!“ جب مَیں نے اُسے کھایا تو شہد کی طرح میٹھا لگا۔

And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

تب اللہ مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ”اے آدم زاد، اب جا کر اسرائیلی گھرانے کو میرے پیغامات سنا دے۔

For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

مَیں تجھے ایسی قوم کے پاس نہیں بھیج رہا جس کی اجنبی زبان تجھے سمجھ نہ آئے بلکہ تجھے اسرائیلی قوم کے پاس بھیج رہا ہوں۔

Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

بےشک ایسی بہت سی قومیں ہیں جن کی اجنبی زبانیں تجھے نہیں آتیں، لیکن اُن کے پاس مَیں تجھے نہیں بھیج رہا۔ اگر مَیں تجھے اُن ہی کے پاس بھیجتا تو وہ ضرور تیری سنتیں۔

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

لیکن اسرائیلی گھرانا تیری سننے کے لئے تیار نہیں ہو گا، کیونکہ وہ میری سننے کے لئے تیار ہی نہیں۔ کیونکہ پوری قوم کا ماتھا سخت اور دل اَڑا ہوا ہے۔

Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

لیکن مَیں نے تیرا چہرہ بھی اُن کے چہرے جیسا سخت کر دیا، تیرا ماتھا بھی اُن کے ماتھے جیسا مضبوط کر دیا ہے۔

As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

تُو اُن کا مقابلہ کر سکے گا، کیونکہ مَیں نے تیرے ماتھے کو ہیرے جیسا مضبوط، چقماق جیسا پائے دار کر دیا ہے۔ گو یہ قوم باغی ہے توبھی اُن سے خوف نہ کھا، نہ اُن کے سلوک سے دہشت زدہ ہو۔“

Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

اللہ نے مزید فرمایا، ”اے آدم زاد، میری ہر بات پر دھیان دے کر اُسے ذہن میں بٹھا۔

And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

اب روانہ ہو کر اپنی قوم کے اُن افراد کے پاس جا جو بابل میں جلاوطن ہوئے ہیں۔ اُنہیں وہ کچھ سنا دے جو رب قادرِ مطلق اُنہیں بتانا چاہتا ہے، خواہ وہ سنیں یا نہ سنیں۔“

Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

پھر اللہ کے روح نے مجھے وہاں سے اُٹھایا۔ جب رب کا جلال اپنی جگہ سے اُٹھا تو مَیں نے اپنے پیچھے ایک گڑگڑاتی آواز سنی۔

I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

فضا چاروں جانداروں کے شور سے گونج اُٹھی جب اُن کے پَر ایک دوسرے سے لگنے اور اُن کے پہئے گھومنے لگے۔

So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

اللہ کا روح مجھے اُٹھا کر وہاں سے لے گیا، اور مَیں تلخ مزاجی اور بڑی سرگرمی سے روانہ ہوا۔ کیونکہ رب کا ہاتھ زور سے مجھ پر ٹھہرا ہوا تھا۔

Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel–abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

چلتے چلتے مَیں دریائے کبار کی آبادی تل ابیب میں رہنے والے جلاوطنوں کے پاس پہنچ گیا۔ مَیں اُن کے درمیان بیٹھ گیا۔ سات دن تک میری حالت گم صم رہی۔

And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

سات دن کے بعد رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

”اے آدم زاد، مَیں نے تجھے اسرائیلی قوم پر پہرے دار بنایا، اِس لئے جب بھی تجھے مجھ سے کلام ملے تو اُنہیں میری طرف سے آگاہ کر!

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

مَیں تیرے ذریعے بےدین کو اطلاع دوں گا کہ اُسے مرنا ہی ہے تاکہ وہ اپنی بُری راہ سے ہٹ کر بچ جائے۔ اگر تُو اُسے یہ پیغام نہ پہنچائے، نہ اُسے تنبیہ کرے اور وہ اپنے قصور کے باعث مر جائے تو مَیں تجھے ہی اُس کی موت کا ذمہ دار ٹھہراؤں گا۔

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

لیکن اگر وہ تیری تنبیہ پر اپنی بےدینی اور بُری راہ سے نہ ہٹے تو یہ الگ بات ہے۔ بےشک وہ مرے گا، لیکن تُو ذمہ دار نہیں ٹھہرے گا بلکہ اپنی جان کو چھڑائے گا۔

Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

جب راست باز اپنی راست بازی کو چھوڑ کر بُری راہ پر آ جائے گا تو مَیں تجھے اُسے آگاہ کرنے کی ذمہ داری دوں گا۔ اگر تُو یہ کرنے سے باز رہا تو تُو ہی ذمہ دار ٹھہرے گا جب مَیں اُسے ٹھوکر کھلا کر مار ڈالوں گا۔ اُس وقت اُس کے راست کام یاد نہیں رہیں گے بلکہ وہ اپنے گناہ کے سبب سے مرے گا۔ لیکن تُو ہی اُس کی موت کا ذمہ دار ٹھہرے گا۔

Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

لیکن اگر تُو اُسے تنبیہ کرے اور وہ اپنے گناہ سے باز آئے تو وہ میری تنبیہ کو قبول کرنے کے باعث بچے گا، اور تُو بھی اپنی جان کو چھڑائے گا۔“

And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

وہیں رب کا ہاتھ دوبارہ مجھ پر آ ٹھہرا۔ اُس نے فرمایا، ”اُٹھ، یہاں سے نکل کر وادی کے کھلے میدان میں چلا جا! وہاں مَیں تجھ سے ہم کلام ہوں گا۔“

Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

مَیں اُٹھا اور نکل کر وادی کے کھلے میدان میں چلا گیا۔ جب پہنچا تو کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ رب کا جلال وہاں یوں موجود ہے جس طرح پہلی رویا میں دریائے کبار کے کنارے پر تھا۔ مَیں منہ کے بل گر گیا۔

Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

تب اللہ کے روح نے آ کر مجھے دوبارہ کھڑا کیا اور فرمایا، ”اپنے گھر میں جا کر اپنے پیچھے کنڈی لگا۔

But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

اے آدم زاد، لوگ تجھے رسّیوں میں جکڑ کر بند رکھیں گے تاکہ تُو نکل کر دوسروں میں نہ پھر سکے۔

And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

مَیں ہونے دوں گا کہ تیری زبان تالو سے چپک جائے اور تُو خاموش رہ کر اُنہیں ڈانٹ نہ سکے۔ کیونکہ یہ قوم سرکش ہے۔

But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

لیکن جب بھی مَیں تجھ سے ہم کلام ہوں گا تو تیرے منہ کو کھولوں گا۔ تب تُو میرا کلام سنا کر کہے گا، ’رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے!‘ تب جو سننے کے لئے تیار ہو وہ سنے، اور جو تیار نہ ہو وہ نہ سنے۔ کیونکہ یہ قوم سرکش ہے۔
