II Samuel 6

Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

ایک بار پھر داؤد نے اسرائیل کے چنیدہ آدمیوں کو جمع کیا۔ 30,000 افراد تھے۔

And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

اُن کے ساتھ مل کر وہ یہوداہ کے بعلہ پہنچ گیا تاکہ اللہ کا صندوق اُٹھا کر یروشلم لے جائیں، وہی صندوق جس پر رب الافواج کے نام کا ٹھپا لگا ہے اور جہاں وہ صندوق کے اوپر کروبی فرشتوں کے درمیان تخت نشین ہے۔

And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.

لوگوں نے اللہ کے صندوق کو پہاڑی پر واقع ابی نداب کے گھر سے نکال کر ایک نئی بَیل گاڑی پر رکھ دیا، اور ابی نداب کے دو بیٹے عُزّہ اور اخیو اُسے یروشلم کی طرف لے جانے لگے۔ اخیو گاڑی کے آگے آگے

And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.

لوگوں نے اللہ کے صندوق کو پہاڑی پر واقع ابی نداب کے گھر سے نکال کر ایک نئی بَیل گاڑی پر رکھ دیا، اور ابی نداب کے دو بیٹے عُزّہ اور اخیو اُسے یروشلم کی طرف لے جانے لگے۔ اخیو گاڑی کے آگے آگے

And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

اور داؤد باقی تمام لوگوں کے ساتھ پیچھے چل رہا تھا۔ سب رب کے حضور پورے زور سے خوشی منانے اور گیت گانے لگے۔ مختلف ساز بھی بجائے جا رہے تھے۔ فضا ستاروں، سرودوں، دفوں، خنجریوں اور جھانجھوں کی آوازوں سے گونج اُٹھی۔

And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

وہ گندم گاہنے کی ایک جگہ پر پہنچ گئے جس کے مالک کا نام نکون تھا۔ وہاں بَیل اچانک بےقابو ہو گئے۔ عُزّہ نے جلدی سے اللہ کا صندوق پکڑ لیا تاکہ وہ گر نہ جائے۔

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

اُسی لمحے رب کا غضب اُس پر نازل ہوا، کیونکہ اُس نے اللہ کے صندوق کو چھونے کی جرٲت کی تھی۔ وہیں اللہ کے صندوق کے پاس ہی عُزّہ گر کر ہلاک ہو گیا۔

And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perez–uzzah to this day.

داؤد کو بڑا رنج ہوا کہ رب کا غضب عُزّہ پر یوں ٹوٹ پڑا ہے۔ اُس وقت سے اُس جگہ کا نام پرض عُزّہ یعنی ’عُزّہ پر ٹوٹ پڑنا‘ ہے۔

And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

اُس دن داؤد کو رب سے خوف آیا۔ اُس نے سوچا، ”رب کا صندوق کس طرح میرے پاس پہنچ سکے گا؟“

So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obed–edom the Gittite.

چنانچہ اُس نے فیصلہ کیا کہ ہم رب کا صندوق یروشلم نہیں لے جائیں گے بلکہ اُسے عوبید ادوم جاتی کے گھر میں محفوظ رکھیں گے۔

And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed–edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed–edom, and all his household.

وہاں وہ تین ماہ تک پڑا رہا۔ اِن تین مہینوں کے دوران رب نے عوبید ادوم اور اُس کے پورے گھرانے کو برکت دی۔

And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed–edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed–edom into the city of David with gladness.

ایک دن داؤد کو اطلاع دی گئی، ”جب سے اللہ کا صندوق عوبید ادوم کے گھر میں ہے اُس وقت سے رب نے اُس کے گھرانے اور اُس کی پوری ملکیت کو برکت دی ہے۔“ یہ سن کر داؤد عوبید ادوم کے گھر گیا اور خوشی مناتے ہوئے اللہ کے صندوق کو داؤد کے شہر لے آیا۔

And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

چھ قدموں کے بعد داؤد نے رب کا صندوق اُٹھانے والوں کو روک کر ایک سانڈ اور ایک موٹا تازہ بچھڑا قربان کیا۔

And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

جب جلوس آگے نکلا تو داؤد پورے زور کے ساتھ رب کے حضور ناچنے لگا۔ وہ کتان کا بالاپوش پہنے ہوئے تھا۔

So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

خوشی کے نعرے لگا لگا کر اور نرسنگے پھونک پھونک کر داؤد اور تمام اسرائیلی رب کا صندوق یروشلم لے آئے۔

And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

رب کا صندوق داؤد کے شہر میں داخل ہوا تو داؤد کی بیوی میکل بنت ساؤل کھڑکی میں سے جلوس کو دیکھ رہی تھی۔ جب بادشاہ رب کے حضور کودتا اور ناچتا ہوا نظر آیا تو میکل نے دل میں اُسے حقیر جانا۔

And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

رب کا صندوق اُس تنبو کے درمیان میں رکھا گیا جو داؤد نے اُس کے لئے لگوایا تھا۔ پھر داؤد نے رب کے حضور بھسم ہونے والی اور سلامتی کی قربانیاں پیش کیں۔

And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.

اِس کے بعد اُس نے قوم کو رب الافواج کے نام سے برکت دے کر

And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

ہر اسرائیلی مرد اور عورت کو ایک روٹی، کھجور کی ایک ٹکی اور کشمش کی ایک ٹکی دے دی۔ پھر تمام لوگ اپنے اپنے گھروں کو واپس چلے گئے۔

Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

داؤد بھی اپنے گھر لوٹا تاکہ اپنے خاندان کو برکت دے کر سلام کرے۔ وہ ابھی محل کے اندر نہیں پہنچا تھا کہ میکل نکل کر اُس سے ملنے آئی۔ اُس نے طنزاً کہا، ”واہ جی واہ۔ آج اسرائیل کا بادشاہ کتنی شان کے ساتھ لوگوں کو نظر آیا ہے! اپنے لوگوں کی لونڈیوں کے سامنے ہی اُس نے اپنے کپڑے اُتار دیئے، بالکل اُسی طرح جس طرح گنوار کرتے ہیں۔“

And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

داؤد نے جواب دیا، ”مَیں رب ہی کے حضور ناچ رہا تھا، جس نے آپ کے باپ اور اُس کے خاندان کو ترک کر کے مجھے چن لیا اور اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیا ہے۔ اُسی کی تعظیم میں مَیں آئندہ بھی ناچوں گا۔

And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

ہاں، مَیں اِس سے بھی زیادہ ذلیل ہونے کے لئے تیار ہوں۔ جہاں تک لونڈیوں کا تعلق ہے، وہ ضرور میری عزت کریں گی۔“

Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

جیتے جی میکل بےاولاد رہی۔
