II Kings 20

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

اُن دنوں میں حِزقیاہ اِتنا بیمار ہوا کہ مرنے کی نوبت آ پہنچی۔ آموص کا بیٹا یسعیاہ نبی اُس سے ملنے آیا اور کہا، ”رب فرماتا ہے کہ اپنے گھر کا بندوبست کر لے، کیونکہ تجھے مرنا ہے۔ تُو اِس بیماری سے شفا نہیں پائے گا۔“

Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

یہ سن کر حِزقیاہ نے اپنا منہ دیوار کی طرف پھیر کر دعا کی،

I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

”اے رب، یاد کر کہ مَیں وفاداری اور خلوص دلی سے تیرے سامنے چلتا رہا ہوں، کہ مَیں وہ کچھ کرتا آیا ہوں جو تجھے پسند ہے۔“ پھر وہ پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رونے لگا۔

And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

اِتنے میں یسعیاہ چلا گیا تھا۔ لیکن وہ ابھی اندرونی صحن سے نکلا نہیں تھا کہ اُسے رب کا کلام ملا،

Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

”میری قوم کے راہنما حِزقیاہ کے پاس واپس جا کر اُسے بتا دینا کہ رب تیرے باپ داؤد کا خدا فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں نے تیری دعا سن لی اور تیرے آنسو دیکھے ہیں۔ مَیں تجھے شفا دوں گا۔ پرسوں تُو دوبارہ رب کے گھر میں جائے گا۔

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

مَیں تیری زندگی میں 15 سال کا اضافہ کروں گا۔ ساتھ ساتھ مَیں تجھے اور اِس شہر کو اسور کے بادشاہ سے بچا لوں گا۔ مَیں اپنی اور اپنے خادم داؤد کی خاطر شہر کا دفاع کروں گا‘۔“

And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

پھر یسعیاہ نے حکم دیا، ”انجیر کی ٹکی لا کر بادشاہ کے ناسور پر باندھ دو!“ جب ایسا کیا گیا تو حِزقیاہ کو شفا ملی۔

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

پہلے حِزقیاہ نے یسعیاہ سے پوچھا تھا، ”رب مجھے کون سا نشان دے گا جس سے مجھے یقین آئے کہ وہ مجھے شفا دے گا اور کہ مَیں پرسوں دوبارہ رب کے گھر کی عبادت میں شریک ہوں گا؟“

And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

یسعیاہ نے جواب دیا، ”رب دھوپ گھڑی کا سایہ دس درجے آگے کرے گا یا دس درجے پیچھے۔ اِس سے آپ جان لیں گے کہ وہ اپنا وعدہ پورا کرے گا۔ آپ کیا چاہتے ہیں، کیا سایہ دس درجے آگے چلے یا دس درجے پیچھے؟“

And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

حِزقیاہ نے جواب دیا، ”یہ کروانا کہ سایہ دس درجے آگے چلے آسان کام ہے۔ نہیں، وہ دس درجے پیچھے جائے۔“

And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

تب یسعیاہ نبی نے رب سے دعا کی، اور رب نے آخز کی بنائی ہوئی دھوپ گھڑی کا سایہ دس درجے پیچھے کر دیا۔

At that time Berodach–baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

تھوڑی دیر کے بعد بابل کے بادشاہ مرودک بلَدان بن بلَدان نے حِزقیاہ کی بیماری کی خبر سن کر وفد کے ہاتھ خط اور تحفے بھیجے۔

And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

حِزقیاہ نے وفد کا استقبال کر کے اُسے وہ تمام خزانے دکھائے جو ذخیرہ خانے میں محفوظ رکھے گئے تھے یعنی تمام سونا چاندی، بلسان کا تیل اور باقی قیمتی تیل۔ اُس نے اسلحہ خانہ اور باقی سب کچھ بھی دکھایا جو اُس کے خزانوں میں تھا۔ پورے محل اور پورے ملک میں کوئی خاص چیز نہ رہی جو اُس نے اُنہیں نہ دکھائی۔

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

تب یسعیاہ نبی حِزقیاہ بادشاہ کے پاس آیا اور پوچھا، ”اِن آدمیوں نے کیا کہا؟ کہاں سے آئے ہیں؟“ حِزقیاہ نے جواب دیا، ”دُوردراز ملک بابل سے آئے ہیں۔“

And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

یسعیاہ بولا، ”اُنہوں نے محل میں کیا کچھ دیکھا؟“ حِزقیاہ نے کہا، ”اُنہوں نے محل میں سب کچھ دیکھ لیا ہے۔ میرے خزانوں میں کوئی چیز نہ رہی جو مَیں نے اُنہیں نہیں دکھائی۔“

And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

تب یسعیاہ نے کہا، ”رب کا فرمان سنیں!

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

ایک دن آنے والا ہے کہ تیرے محل کا تمام مال چھین لیا جائے گا۔ جتنے بھی خزانے تُو اور تیرے باپ دادا نے آج تک جمع کئے ہیں اُن سب کو دشمن بابل لے جائے گا۔ رب فرماتا ہے کہ ایک بھی چیز پیچھے نہیں رہے گی۔

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

تیرے بیٹوں میں سے بھی بعض چھین لئے جائیں گے، ایسے جو اب تک پیدا نہیں ہوئے۔ تب وہ خواجہ سرا بن کر شاہِ بابل کے محل میں خدمت کریں گے۔“

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

حِزقیاہ بولا، ”رب کا جو پیغام آپ نے مجھے دیا ہے وہ ٹھیک ہے۔“ کیونکہ اُس نے سوچا، ”بڑی بات یہ ہے کہ میرے جیتے جی امن و امان ہو گا۔“

And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

باقی جو کچھ حِزقیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کامیابیاں اُسے حاصل ہوئیں وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہیں۔ وہاں یہ بھی بیان کیا گیا ہے کہ اُس نے کس طرح تالاب بنوا کر وہ سرنگ کھدوائی جس کے ذریعے چشمے کا پانی شہر تک پہنچتا ہے۔

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

جب حِزقیاہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُس کا بیٹا منسّی تخت نشین ہوا۔
