II Kings 15

In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

عُزیّاہ بن اَمصیاہ اسرائیل کے بادشاہ یرُبعام دوم کی حکومت کے 27ویں سال میں یہوداہ کا بادشاہ بنا۔

Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

اُس وقت اُس کی عمر 16 سال تھی، اور وہ یروشلم میں رہ کر 52 سال حکومت کرتا رہا۔ اُس کی ماں یکولیاہ یروشلم کی رہنے والی تھی۔

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

اپنے باپ اَمصیاہ کی طرح اُس کا چال چلن رب کو پسند تھا،

Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

لیکن اونچی جگہوں کو دُور نہ کیا گیا، اور عام لوگ وہاں اپنی قربانیاں چڑھاتے اور بخور جلاتے رہے۔

And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

ایک دن رب نے بادشاہ کو سزا دی کہ اُسے کوڑھ لگ گیا۔ عُزیّاہ جیتے جی اِس بیماری سے شفا نہ پا سکا، اور اُسے علیٰحدہ گھر میں رہنا پڑا۔ اُس کے بیٹے یوتام کو محل پر مقرر کیا گیا، اور وہی اُمّت پر حکومت کرنے لگا۔

And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

باقی جو کچھ عُزیّاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔

So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

جب وہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے یروشلم کے اُس حصے میں جو ’داؤد کا شہر‘ کہلاتا ہے خاندانی قبر میں دفنایا گیا۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا یوتام تخت نشین ہوا۔

In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

زکریاہ بن یرُبعام یہوداہ کے بادشاہ عُزیّاہ کی حکومت کے 38ویں سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ اُس کا دار الحکومت بھی سامریہ تھا، لیکن چھ ماہ کے بعد اُس کی حکومت ختم ہو گئی۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

اپنے باپ دادا کی طرح زکریاہ کا چال چلن بھی رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ وہ اُن گناہوں سے باز نہ آیا جو کرنے پر یرُبعام بن نباط نے اسرائیل کو اُکسایا تھا۔

And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

سلّوم بن یبیس نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کر کے اُسے سب کے سامنے قتل کیا۔ پھر وہ اُس کی جگہ بادشاہ بن گیا۔

And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

باقی جو کچھ زکریاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اُس کا ذکر ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں کیا گیا ہے۔

This was the word of the LORD which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

یوں رب کا وہ وعدہ پورا ہوا جو اُس نے یاہو سے کیا تھا، ”تیری اولاد چوتھی پشت تک اسرائیل پر حکومت کرتی رہے گی۔“

Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

سلّوم بن یبیس یہوداہ کے بادشاہ عُزیّاہ کے 39ویں سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ وہ سامریہ میں رہ کر صرف ایک ماہ تک تخت پر بیٹھ سکا۔

For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

پھر مناحم بن جادی نے تِرضہ سے آ کر سلّوم کو سامریہ میں قتل کر دیا۔ اِس کے بعد وہ خود تخت پر بیٹھ گیا۔

And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

باقی جو کچھ سلّوم کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو سازشیں اُس نے کیں وہ ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں بیان کیا گیا ہے۔

Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

اُس وقت مناحم نے تِرضہ سے آ کر شہر تِفسَح کو اُس کے تمام باشندوں اور گرد و نواح کے علاقے سمیت تباہ کیا۔ وجہ یہ تھی کہ اُس کے باشندے اپنے دروازوں کو کھول کر اُس کے تابع ہو جانے کے لئے تیار نہیں تھے۔ جواب میں مناحم نے اُن کو مارا اور تمام حاملہ عورتوں کے پیٹ چیر ڈالے۔

In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

مناحم بن جادی یہوداہ کے بادشاہ عُزیّاہ کی حکومت کے 39ویں سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ سامریہ اُس کا دار الحکومت تھا، اور اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 10 سال تھا۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

اُس کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا، اور وہ زندگی بھر اُن گناہوں سے باز نہ آیا جو کرنے پر یرُبعام بن نباط نے اسرائیل کو اُکسایا تھا۔

And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

مناحم کے دورِ حکومت میں اسور کا بادشاہ پُول یعنی تِگلت پِل ایسر ملک سے لڑنے آیا۔ مناحم نے اُسے 34,000 کلو گرام چاندی دے دی تاکہ وہ اُس کی حکومت مضبوط کرنے میں مدد کرے۔ تب اسور کا بادشاہ اسرائیل کو چھوڑ کر اپنے ملک واپس چلا گیا۔ چاندی کے یہ پیسے مناحم نے امیر اسرائیلیوں سے جمع کئے۔ ہر ایک کو چاندی کے 50 سِکے ادا کرنے پڑے۔

And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

مناحم کے دورِ حکومت میں اسور کا بادشاہ پُول یعنی تِگلت پِل ایسر ملک سے لڑنے آیا۔ مناحم نے اُسے 34,000 کلو گرام چاندی دے دی تاکہ وہ اُس کی حکومت مضبوط کرنے میں مدد کرے۔ تب اسور کا بادشاہ اسرائیل کو چھوڑ کر اپنے ملک واپس چلا گیا۔ چاندی کے یہ پیسے مناحم نے امیر اسرائیلیوں سے جمع کئے۔ ہر ایک کو چاندی کے 50 سِکے ادا کرنے پڑے۔

باقی جو کچھ مناحم کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔

And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

جب وہ مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُس کا بیٹا فِقَحیاہ تخت پر بیٹھ گیا۔

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.

فِقَحیاہ بن مناحم یہوداہ کے بادشاہ عُزیّاہ کے 50ویں سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ سامریہ میں رہ کر اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ دو سال تھا۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

فِقَحیاہ کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ وہ اُن گناہوں سے باز نہ آیا جو کرنے پر یرُبعام بن نباط نے اسرائیل کو اُکسایا تھا۔

But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

ایک دن فوج کے اعلیٰ افسر فِقَح بن رملیاہ نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کی۔ جِلعاد کے 50 آدمیوں کو اپنے ساتھ لے کر اُس نے فِقَحیاہ کو سامریہ کے محل کے بُرج میں مار ڈالا۔ اُس وقت دو اَور افسر بنام ارجوب اور اریہ بھی اُس کی زد میں آ کر مر گئے۔ اِس کے بعد فِقَح تخت پر بیٹھ گیا۔

And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

باقی جو کچھ فِقَحیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں بیان کیا گیا ہے۔

In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.

فِقَح بن رملیاہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ عُزیّاہ کی حکومت کے 52ویں سال میں اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا۔ سامریہ میں رہ کر وہ 20 سال تک حکومت کرتا رہا۔

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

فِقَح کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ وہ اُن گناہوں سے باز نہ آیا جو کرنے پر یرُبعام بن نباط نے اسرائیل کو اُکسایا تھا۔

In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath–pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel–beth–maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

فِقَح کے دورِ حکومت میں اسور کے بادشاہ تِگلت پِل ایسر نے اسرائیل پر حملہ کیا۔ ذیل کے تمام شہر اُس کے قبضے میں آ گئے: عِیون، ابیل بیت معکہ، یانوح، قادس اور حصور۔ جِلعاد اور گلیل کے علاقے بھی نفتالی کے پورے قبائلی علاقے سمیت اُس کی گرفت میں آ گئے۔ اسور کا بادشاہ اِن تمام جگہوں میں آباد لوگوں کو گرفتار کر کے اپنے ملک اسور لے گیا۔

And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

ایک دن ہوسیع بن ایلہ نے فِقَح کے خلاف سازش کر کے اُسے موت کے گھاٹ اُتار دیا۔ پھر وہ خود تخت پر بیٹھ گیا۔ یہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ یوتام بن عُزیّاہ کی حکومت کے 20ویں سال میں ہوا۔

باقی جو کچھ فِقَح کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔

In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

عُزیّاہ کا بیٹا یوتام اسرائیل کے بادشاہ فِقَح کی حکومت کے دوسرے سال میں یہوداہ کا بادشاہ بنا۔

Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

وہ 25 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا اور یروشلم میں رہ کر 16 سال حکومت کرتا رہا۔ اُس کی ماں یروسہ بنت صدوق تھی۔

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

وہ اپنے باپ عُزیّاہ کی طرح وہ کچھ کرتا رہا جو رب کو پسند تھا۔

Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.

توبھی اونچی جگہوں کے مندر ہٹائے نہ گئے۔ لوگ وہاں اپنی قربانیاں چڑھانے اور بخور جلانے سے باز نہ آئے۔ یوتام نے رب کے گھر کا بالائی دروازہ تعمیر کیا۔

Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

باقی جو کچھ یوتام کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا وہ ’شاہانِ یہوداہ کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں قلم بند ہے۔

In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

اُن دنوں میں رب شام کے بادشاہ رضین اور فِقَح بن رملیاہ کو یہوداہ کے خلاف بھیجنے لگا تاکہ اُس سے لڑیں۔

And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

جب یوتام مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے یروشلم کے اُس حصے میں جو ’داؤد کا شہر‘ کہلاتا ہے خاندانی قبر میں دفنایا گیا۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا آخز تخت پر بیٹھ گیا۔
