II Chronicles 2

And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.

پھر سلیمان نے رب کے لئے گھر اور اپنے لئے شاہی محل بنانے کا حکم دیا۔

And Solomon told out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.

اِس کے لئے اُس نے 1,50,000 آدمیوں کی بھرتی کی۔ 80,000 کو اُس نے پہاڑی کانوں میں لگایا تاکہ وہ پتھر نکالیں جبکہ 70,000 افراد کی ذمہ داری یہ پتھر یروشلم لانا تھی۔ اِن سب پر سلیمان نے 3,600 نگران مقرر کئے۔

And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.

اُس نے صور کے بادشاہ حیرام کو اطلاع دی، ”جس طرح آپ میرے باپ داؤد کو دیودار کی لکڑی بھیجتے رہے جب وہ اپنے لئے محل بنا رہے تھے اُسی طرح مجھے بھی دیودار کی لکڑی بھیجیں۔

Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.

مَیں ایک گھر تعمیر کر کے اُسے رب اپنے خدا کے نام کے لئے مخصوص کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔ کیونکہ ہمیں ایسی جگہ کی ضرورت ہے جس میں اُس کے حضور خوشبودار بخور جلایا جائے، رب کے لئے مخصوص روٹیاں باقاعدگی سے میز پر رکھی جائیں اور خاص موقعوں پر بھسم ہونے والی قربانیاں پیش کی جائیں یعنی ہر صبح و شام، سبت کے دن، نئے چاند کی عیدوں اور رب ہمارے خدا کی دیگر مقررہ عیدوں پر۔ یہ اسرائیل کا دائمی فرض ہے۔

And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods.

جس گھر کو مَیں بنانے کو ہوں وہ نہایت عظیم ہو گا، کیونکہ ہمارا خدا دیگر تمام معبودوں سے کہیں عظیم ہے۔

But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

لیکن کون اُس کے لئے ایسا گھر بنا سکتا ہے جو اُس کے لائق ہو؟ بلندترین آسمان بھی اُس کی رہائش کے لئے چھوٹا ہے۔ تو پھر میری کیا حیثیت ہے کہ اُس کے لئے گھر بناؤں؟ مَیں صرف ایسی جگہ بنا سکتا ہوں جس میں اُس کے لئے قربانیاں چڑھائی جا سکیں۔

Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

چنانچہ میرے پاس کسی ایسے سمجھ دار کاری گر کو بھیج دیں جو مہارت سے سونے چاندی، پیتل اور لوہے کا کام جانتا ہو۔ وہ نیلے، ارغوانی اور قرمزی رنگ کا کپڑا بنانے اور کندہ کاری کا اُستاد بھی ہو۔ ایسا شخص یروشلم اور یہوداہ میں میرے اُن کاری گروں کا انچارج بنے جنہیں میرے باپ داؤد نے کام پر لگایا ہے۔

Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,

اِس کے علاوہ مجھے لبنان سے دیودار، جونیپر اور دیگر قیمتی درختوں کی لکڑی بھیج دیں۔ کیونکہ مَیں جانتا ہوں کہ آپ کے لوگ عمدہ قسم کے لکڑہارے ہیں۔ میرے آدمی آپ کے لوگوں کے ساتھ مل کر کام کریں گے۔

Even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build shall be wonderful great.

ہمیں بہت سی لکڑی کی ضرورت ہو گی، کیونکہ جو گھر مَیں بنانا چاہتا ہوں وہ بڑا اور شاندار ہو گا۔

And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.

آپ کے لکڑہاروں کے کام کے معاوضے میں مَیں 32,75,000 کلو گرام گندم، 27,00,000 کلو گرام جَو، 4,40,000 لٹر مَے اور 4,40,000 لٹر زیتون کا تیل دوں گا۔“

Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved his people, he hath made thee king over them.

صور کے بادشاہ حیرام نے خط لکھ کر سلیمان کو جواب دیا، ”رب اپنی قوم کو پیار کرتا ہے، اِس لئے اُس نے آپ کو اُس کا بادشاہ بنایا ہے۔

Huram said moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.

رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی حمد ہو جس نے آسمان و زمین کو خلق کیا ہے کہ اُس نے داؤد بادشاہ کو اِتنا دانش مند بیٹا عطا کیا ہے۔ اُس کی تمجید ہو کہ یہ عقل مند اور سمجھ دار بیٹا رب کے لئے گھر اور اپنے لئے محل تعمیر کرے گا۔

And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's,

مَیں آپ کے پاس ایک ماہر اور سمجھ دار کاری گر کو بھیج دیتا ہوں جس کا نام حیرام ابی ہے۔

The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.

اُس کی اسرائیلی ماں، دان کے قبیلے کی ہے جبکہ اُس کا باپ صور کا ہے۔ حیرام سونے چاندی، پیتل، لوہے، پتھر اور لکڑی کی چیزیں بنانے میں مہارت رکھتا ہے۔ وہ نیلے، ارغوانی اور قرمزی رنگ کا کپڑا اور کتان کا باریک کپڑا بنا سکتا ہے۔ وہ ہر قسم کی کندہ کاری میں بھی ماہر ہے۔ جو بھی منصوبہ اُسے پیش کیا جائے اُسے وہ پایہ تکمیل تک پہنچا سکتا ہے۔ یہ آدمی آپ کے اور آپ کے معزز باپ داؤد کے کاری گروں کے ساتھ مل کر کام کرے گا۔

Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants:

چنانچہ جس گندم، جَو، زیتون کے تیل اور مَے کا ذکر میرے آقا نے کیا وہ اپنے خادموں کو بھیج دیں۔

And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.

معاوضے میں ہم آپ کے لئے درکار درختوں کو لبنان میں کٹوائیں گے اور اُن کے بیڑے باندھ کر سمندر کے ذریعے یافا شہر تک پہنچا دیں گے۔ وہاں سے آپ اُنہیں یروشلم لے جا سکیں گے۔“

And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.

سلیمان نے اسرائیل میں آباد تمام غیرملکیوں کی مردم شماری کروائی۔ (اُس کے باپ داؤد نے بھی اُن کی مردم شماری کروائی تھی۔) معلوم ہوا کہ اسرائیل میں 1,53,600 غیرملکی رہتے ہیں۔

And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work.

اِن میں سے اُس نے 80,000 کو پہاڑی کانوں میں لگایا تاکہ وہ پتھر نکالیں جبکہ 70,000 افراد کی ذمہ داری یہ پتھر یروشلم لانا تھی۔ اِن سب پر سلیمان نے 3,600 نگران مقرر کئے۔
