Jeremiah 8

At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:

Εν τω καιρω εκεινω, λεγει Κυριος, θελουσιν εκριψει τα οστα των βασιλεων του Ιουδα και τα οστα των αρχοντων αυτου και τα οστα των ιερεων, και τα οστα των προφητων και τα οστα των κατοικων της Ιερουσαλημ, απο των ταφων αυτων

And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

και θελουσιν απλωσει αυτα κατεναντι του ηλιου και της σεληνης και κατεναντι πασης της στρατιας του ουρανου, τα οποια ηγαπησαν και τα οποια ελατρευσαν και οπισω των οποιων περιεπατησαν και τα οποια εξεζητησαν και τα οποια προσεκυνησαν δεν θελουσι συναχθη ουδε ταφη θελουσιν εισθαι δια κοπριαν επι του προσωπου της γης.

And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.

Και ο θανατος θελει εισθαι προτιμοτερος παρα την ζωην εις απαν το υπολοιπον των εναπολειφθεντων απο εκεινης της πονηρας γενεας, οσοι ηθελον μεινει εν πασι τοις τοποις, οπου ηθελον εξωσει αυτους, λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων.

Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?

Και θελεις ειπει προς αυτους, Ουτω λεγει Κυριος Εαν τις πεση, δεν σηκονεται; εαν τις εκκλινη, δεν θελει επιστρεψει;

Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

Δια τι ο λαος ουτος της Ιερουσαλημ εστραφη παντοτεινην στροφην; προσηλονονται εις την απατην, αρνουνται να επιστρεψωσιν.

I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

Ηκροασθην και ηκουσα, αλλα δεν ελαλησαν εν ευθυτητι δεν υπαρχει ουδεις μετανοων απο της κακιας αυτου, λεγων, Τι επραξα; πας τις εστραφη εις την οδον αυτου, ως ιππος εφορμων εις την μαχην.

Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

Και αυτος ο πελαργος εν τω ουρανω γνωριζει τους διωρισμενους καιρους αυτου και η τρυγων και ο γερανος και η χελιδων φυλαττουσι τον καιρον της ελευσεως αυτων ο δε λαος μου δεν γνωριζει την κρισιν του Κυριου.

How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

Πως λεγετε, Ειμεθα σοφοι, και ο νομος του Κυριου ειναι μεθ ημων; ιδου, βεβαιως εις ματην εγεινε τουτο ο καλαμος των γραμματεων ειναι ψευδης.

The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Οι σοφοι κατησχυνθησαν, επτοηθησαν και συνεληφθησαν, διοτι απερριψαν τον λογον του Κυριου και ποια σοφια ειναι εν αυτοις;

Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

Δια τουτο θελω δωσει τας γυναικας αυτων εις αλλους, τους αγρους αυτων εις εκεινους οιτινες θελουσι κληρονομησει αυτους διοτι πας τις απο μικρου εως μεγαλου εδοθη εις πλεονεξιαν απο προφητου εως ιερεως, πας τις πραττει ψευδος.

For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Διοτι ιατρευσαν το συντριμμα της θυγατρος του λαου μου επιπολαιως, λεγοντες, Ειρηνη, ειρηνη και δεν υπαρχει ειρηνη.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

Μηπως ησχυνθησαν οτι επραξαν βδελυγμα; μαλιστα ουδολως δεν ησχυνθησαν ουδε ηρυθριασαν δια τουτο θελουσι πεσει μεταξυ των πιπτοντων εν τω καιρω της επισκεψεως αυτων θελουσιν απολεσθη, ειπε Κυριος.

I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

Εξαπαντος θελω αναλωσει αυτους, λεγει Κυριος δεν θελουσιν εισθαι σταφυλαι εν τη αμπελω ουδε συκα εν τη συκεα και το φυλλον θελει μαρανθη και τα αγαθα, τα οποια εδωκα εις αυτους, θελουσι φυγει απ αυτων.

Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.

Δια τι καθημεθα; συναχθητε και ας εισελθωμεν εις τας οχυρας πολεις και ας κατασιωπησωμεν εκει, διοτι Κυριος ο Θεος ημων κατεσιωπησεν ημας και εποτισεν ημας υδωρ χολης, επειδη ημαρτησαμεν εις τον Κυριον.

We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

Επροσμειναμεν ειρηνην, αλλ ουδεν αγαθον καιρον θεραπειας, αλλ ιδου, ταραχη.

The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.

Το φρυαγμα των ιππων αυτου ηκουσθη απο Δαν πασα η γη εσεισθη απο του ηχου του χρεμετισμου των �ωμαλεων ιππων αυτου διοτι ηλθον και κατεφαγον την γην και το πληρωμα αυτης την πολιν και τους κατοικουντας εν αυτη

For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.

διοτι, ιδου, εγω εξαποστελλω προς εσας οφεις, βασιλισκους, οιτινες δεν θελουσι γοητευεσθαι αλλα θελουσι σας δαγκανει, λεγει Κυριος.

When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

Ηθελησα να παρηγορηθω απο της λυπης, αλλ η καρδια μου ειναι εκλελυμενη εντος μου.

Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?

Ιδου, φωνη κραυγης της θυγατρος του λαου μου απο γης μακρας. Δεν ειναι ο Κυριος εν Σιων; ο βασιλευς αυτης δεν ειναι εν αυτη; Δια τι με παρωργισαν με τα γλυπτα αυτων, με ματαιοτητας ξενας;

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Παρηλθεν ο θερισμος, ετελειωσε το θερος, και ημεις δεν εσωθημεν.

For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.

Δια το συντριμμα της θυγατρος του λαου μου επληγωθην, ειμαι εις πενθος, εκπληξις με κατελαβε.

Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

Δεν ειναι βαλσαμον εν Γαλααδ; δεν ειναι εκει ιατρος; δια τι λοιπον η θυγατηρ του λαου μου δεν ανελαβε την υγειαν αυτης;
