Jeremiah 6

O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Beth–haccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.

Υιοι Βενιαμιν, φυγετε μετα σπουδης εκ μεσου της Ιερουσαλημ και ηχησατε σαλπιγγα εν Θεκουε και υψωσατε σημειον εκ πυρος εν Βαιθ−ακκερεμ διοτι κακον προκυπτει απο βορρα και συντριμμος μεγας.

I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.

Παρωμοιασα την θυγατερα της Σιων με χαριεσσαν και τρυφεραν γυναικα.

The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.

Οι ποιμενες και τα ποιμνια αυτων θελουσιν ελθει εις αυτην θελουσι στησει σκηνας κυκλω εναντιον αυτης θελουσι ποιμαινει εκαστος εν τω τοπω αυτου.

Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.

Ετοιμασατε πολεμον κατ αυτης σηκωθητε και ας αναβωμεν εν μεσημβρια. Ουαι εις ημας, διοτι κλινει η ημερα, διοτι εκτεινονται αι σκιαι της εσπερας.

Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

Σηκωθητε και ας αναβωμεν δια νυκτος και ας καταστρεψωμεν τα παλατια αυτης.

For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

Διοτι ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων Κατακοψατε δενδρα και υψωσατε περιχαρακωματα εναντιον της Ιερουσαλημ. Αυτη ειναι η πολις, εφ ην πρεπει να γεινη επισκεψις ειναι ολη καταδυναστεια εν μεσω αυτης.

As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.

Καθως η πηγη αναβρυει τα υδατα αυτης, ουτως αυτη αναβρυει την κακιαν αυτης βια και αρπαγη ακουονται εν αυτη ενωπιον μου ακαταπαυστως ειναι πονος και πληγαι.

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.

Σωφρονισθητι, Ιερουσαλημ, μηποτε αποσυρθη η ψυχη μου απο σου μηποτε σε καταστησω ερημον, γην ακατοικητον.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.

Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων θελουσι σταφυλολογησει ολοτελως ως αμπελον τα υπολοιπα του Ισραηλ επιστρεψον την χειρα σου ως ο τρυγητης εις τα καλαθια.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

Προς τινα θελω λαλησει και διαμαρτυρηθη, δια να ακουσωσιν; ιδου, το ωτιον αυτων ειναι απεριτμητον και δεν δυνανται να ακουσωσιν ιδου, ο λογος του Κυριου ειναι προς αυτους ονειδος δεν ηδυνονται εις αυτον.

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

Δια τουτο ειμαι πληρης απο θυμου του Κυριου απεκαμον κρατων εμαυτον θελω εκχεει αυτον επι τα νηπια εξωθεν και επι την συναξιν των νεων ομου διοτι και ο ανηρ θελει πιασθη μετα της γυναικος και ο ηλικιωμενος μετα του πληρους ημερων.

And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.

Και αι οικιαι αυτων θελουσι περασει εις αλλους, οι αγροι και αι γυναικες ομου, διοτι θελω εκτεινει την χειρα μου επι τους κατοικους της γης, λεγει Κυριος.

For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

Διοτι απο μικρου αυτων εως μεγαλου αυτων πας τις εδοθη εις την πλεονεξιαν και απο προφητου εως ιερεως πας τις πραττει ψευδος.

They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Και ιατρευσαν το συντριμμα της θυγατρος του λαου μου επιπολαιως, λεγοντες, Ειρηνη, ειρηνη και δεν υπαρχει ειρηνη.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

Μηπως ησχυνθησαν, οτε επραξαν βδελυγμα; μαλιστα παντελως δεν ησχυνθησαν ουδε ηρυθριασαν δια τουτο θελουσι πεσει μεταξυ των πιπτοντων οταν επισκεφθω αυτους, θελουσιν απολεσθη, ειπε Κυριος.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Ουτω λεγει Κυριος Στητε επι τας οδους και ιδετε και ερωτησατε περι των αιωνιων τριβων, που ειναι η αγαθη οδος, και περιπατειτε εν αυτη, και θελετε ευρει αναπαυσιν εις τας ψυχας σας. Αλλ αυτοι ειπον, δεν θελομεν περιπατησει εν αυτη.

Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

Και κατεστησα σκοπους εφ υμας, λεγων, Ακουσατε τον ηχον της σαλπιγγος. Αλλ ειπον, δεν θελομεν ακουσει.

Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.

Δια τουτο ακουσατε, εθνη, και συ, συναγωγη, γνωρισον τι ειναι μεταξυ αυτων.

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

Ακουε, γη ιδου, εγω θελω φερει κακον επι τον λαον τουτον, τον καρπον των διαλογισμων αυτων, διοτι δεν επροσεξαν εις τους λογους μου και εις τον νομον μου, αλλ απερριψαν αυτον.

To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.

Τι προς εμε ο φερομενος λιβανος απο Σεβα και το απο γης μακρας ευωδες κινναμωμον; τα ολοκαυτωματα σας δεν ειναι δεκτα ουδε αι θυσιαι σας ευαρεστοι εις εμε.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

Δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος Ιδου, εγω θελω βαλει προσκομματα εμπροσθεν του λαου τουτου και οι πατερες και οι υιοι ομου θελουσι προσκοψει επ αυτα, ο γειτων και ο φιλος αυτου θελουσιν απολεσθη.

Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.

Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος Ιδου, λαος ερχεται απο της γης του βορρα, και εθνος μεγα θελει εγερθη απο των ακρων της γης.

They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.

Τοξον και λογχην θελουσι κρατει ειναι σκληροι και ανιλεοι φωνη αυτων εκει ως θαλασσα, και επιβαινουσιν επι ιππους, παρατεταγμενοι ως ανδρες εις πολεμον εναντιον σου, θυγατηρ της Σιων.

We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

Ηκουσαμεν την φημην αυτων αι χειρες ημων παρελυθησαν στενοχωρια κατελαβεν ημας, ωδινες ως τικτουσης.

Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.

Μη εξελθητε εις τον αγρον και εν οδω μη περιπατειτε διοτι η �ομφαια του εχθρου ειναι τρομος πανταχοθεν.

O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.

Θυγατηρ του λαου μου, περιζωσθητι σακκον και κυλισθητι εις στακτην πενθος μονογενους καμε εις σεαυτην θρηνησον πικρως διοτι ο εξολοθρευτης θελει ελθει εξαιφνης εφ ημας.

I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.

Σε εθεσα σκοπιαν, φρουριον μεταξυ του λαου μου, δια να γνωρισης και να εξερευνησης την οδον αυτων.

They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.

Παντες ειναι ολως απειθεις, περιπατουσι κακολογουντες ειναι χαλκος και σιδηρος παντες ειναι διεφθαρμενοι.

The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

Το φυσητηριον εκαυθη ο μολυβδος κατηναλωθη υπο του πυρος ο χωνευτης διαλυει εις ματην διοτι οι κακοι δεν εχωρισθησαν.

Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.

Αργυριον αποδεδοκιμασμενον θελουσιν ονομασει αυτους, διοτι ο Κυριος απεδοκιμασεν αυτους.
