Hebrews 9

Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.

Ora, a primeira também tinha ordenanças de serviço sagrado, e um santuário terrestre.

For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.

Pois foi preparado um tabernáculo; o primeiro, no qual estavam o candeeiro, e a mesa, e os pães da proposição, que se chama o santo lugar;

And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;

mas depois do segundo véu estava o tabernáculo que se chama o santo dos santos,

Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

que tinha o incensário de ouro, e a arca da aliança, toda coberta de ouro em redor, na qual estava um vaso de ouro, que continha o maná, a vara de Arão, que floresceu, e as tábuas da aliança;

And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

e sobre a arca, os querubins da glória, que cobriam o propiciatório; das quais não podemos falar agora detalhadamente.

Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.

Ora, quando estas coisas estavam assim preparadas, os sacerdotes entravam sempre no primeiro tabernáculo, para realizar os serviços sagrados;

But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

mas no segundo, o sumo sacerdote sozinho, uma vez por ano, não sem sangue, o qual ele oferecia por si mesmo e pelos erros do povo;

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

dando o Espírito Santo a entender com isso, que o caminho do santuário não estava ainda manifestado, enquanto o primeiro tabernáculo ainda estava em pé,

Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

que é uma parábola para o tempo presente, no qual se ofereciam tanto dons como sacrifícios que, no tocante à consciência, não podiam aperfeiçoar aquele que presta o culto;

Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

sendo somente sobre comidas e bebidas, e diversos enxagues, e ordenanças da carne, impostas até o tempo de reforma.

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Mas Cristo, tendo vindo como sumo sacerdote dos bens vindouros, por meio de um maior e mais perfeito tabernáculo (não feito por mãos, isto é, não desta criação),

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

e não pelo sangue de bodes e novilhos, mas por seu próprio sangue, entrou uma vez por todas no santuário, tendo obtido eterna redenção.

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

Porque, se o sangue de bodes e de touros, e das cinzas duma novilha, aspergidos sobre os contaminados, os santificam, quanto à purificação da carne,

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

quanto mais o sangue de Cristo, que, pelo Espírito eterno, se ofereceu a si mesmo sem mácula a Deus, purificará das obras mortas a vossa consciência, para servirdes ao Deus vivo?

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

E por isso ele é o Mediador da nova aliança, para que, mediante a morte, para remissão das transgressões sob a primeira aliança, os que são chamados possam receber a promessa da herança eterna.

For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Pois onde há testamento, é necessário que ocorra a morte do testador.

For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Porque um testamento só tem força após haver a morte, visto que nunca tem valor enquanto o testador vive.

Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

Pelo que nem a primeira aliança foi consagrada sem sangue;

For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

porque, havendo Moisés falado a todo o povo todos os mandamentos segundo a lei, tomou o sangue dos novilhos e dos bodes, com água, lã purpúrea e hissopo, e aspergiu tanto o próprio livro como todo o povo,

Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

dizendo: este é o sangue da aliança que Deus ordenou para vós.

Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

Semelhantemente aspergiu com sangue também o tabernáculo e todos os vasos do serviço sagrado.

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

E quase todas as coisas, segundo a lei, se purificam com sangue; e sem derramamento de sangue não há remissão.

It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Era necessário, portanto, que as figuras das coisas que estão no céu fossem purificadas com tais sacrifícios, mas as próprias coisas celestiais com sacrifícios superiores a estes.

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Pois Cristo não entrou num santuário feito por mãos, figura do verdadeiro, mas no próprio céu, para agora comparecer por nós diante de Deus;

Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

nem também para se oferecer muitas vezes, como o sumo sacerdote de ano em ano entra no santo lugar com sangue alheio;

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

doutra forma, seria necessário que ele padecesse muitas vezes desde a fundação do mundo; agora, porém, na consumação dos séculos, uma vez se manifestou, para aniquilar o pecado pelo sacrifício de si mesmo.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

E, como aos homens está ordenado morrerem uma só vez, vindo, depois, o juízo,

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

assim também Cristo foi oferecido uma só vez para levar os pecados de muitos; e aos que o esperam, aparecerá segunda vez, sem pecado, para a salvação.
