Psalms 5

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

خداوندا، دعای مرا بشنو و به زاری من توجّه فرما!

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

ای پادشاه و ای خدای من، به فریاد من گوش فرا ده. من به درگاه تو دعا می‌کنم.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

خداوندا، سحرگاهان آواز زاری مرا می‌شنوی و هر صبح به درگاه تو دعا می‌کنم و انتظار می‌کشم.

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

زیرا تو ای خدا، از شرارت بیزار هستی و گناهکاران به بارگاهت راه ندارند.

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

متکبّران در پیشگاه تو نخواهند ایستاد و از همهٔ شریران نفرت داری.

Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

دروغگویان را نابود می‌سازی، و از مردم قاتل و فریبکار بیزاری.

But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

امّا به‌خاطر محبّت عظیم تو، من می‌توانم به خانهٔ تو داخل شوم و در معبد مقدّست، تو را با احترام پرستش نمایم.

Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

خداوندا، دشمنان بسیار دارم، مرا به راه راستی و عدالت هدایت نما.

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

راستی در دهان ایشان نیست، دلهایشان از شرارت پُر است، گلوی ایشان مانند گور است و زبانی ریاكار دارند.

Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

خدایا، آنها را به سزای كارهایشان برسان و در دام خودشان گرفتارشان کن. به‌خاطر سرپیچی‌های زیادشان آنها را از بارگاه خود بران، زیرا علیه تو شورش نموده‌اند.

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

امّا کسانی را که به تو پناه می‌آورند، شاد گردان تا برای همیشه از خوشی بسرایند. زیرا تو پناهگاه آنان می‌باشی. دلهای آنانی که تو را دوست دارند، از خوشی سرشار ساز.

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

چون تو ای خداوند، راستان را برکت می‌دهی و با سپر محبّت خود از آنان دفاع می‌کنی.
