Job 2

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

И пак един ден Божиите синове дойдоха, за да се представят пред ГОСПОДА, и между тях дойде и Сатана, за да се представи пред ГОСПОДА.

And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

И ГОСПОД каза на Сатана: Откъде идваш? А Сатана отговори на ГОСПОДА и каза: От обикаляне нагоре-надолу по земята и от ходене насам-натам по нея.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

И ГОСПОД каза на Сатана: Обърнал ли си внимание на слугата Ми Йов, че няма друг като него на земята — човек непорочен и правдив, който се бои от Бога и отбягва злото? И още държи здраво непорочността си, въпреки че ти Ме подбуди против него, за да го погълна без причина.

And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

А Сатана отговори на ГОСПОДА и каза: Кожа за кожа, да; всичко, което има човек, ще го даде за живота си.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Но простри сега ръката Си и се докосни до костите му и до плътта му — дали няма да Те похули в лице!

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

Тогава ГОСПОД каза на Сатана: Ето, той е в ръката ти; само пощади живота му.

So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

И Сатана излезе от присъствието на ГОСПОДА и порази Йов с лоши язви от стъпалото на крака му до темето му.

And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.

И той си взе парче от глинен съд, за да се чеше с него, и седеше в пепелта.

Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Тогава жена му му каза: Още ли държиш здраво непорочността си? Похули Бога и умри!

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

А той й каза: Ти говориш, както говори една от безумните жени! Само доброто ли да приемаме от Бога, а злото да не приемаме? Във всичко това Йов не съгреши с устните си.

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

И тримата приятели на Йов чуха за цялото това нещастие, което го беше сполетяло, и дойдоха всеки от мястото си — теманецът Елифаз и шуахецът Валдад, и наамецът Софар — и се уговориха да дойдат заедно и да му съчувстват, и да го утешат.

And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

И като повдигнаха очите си отдалеч и не го познаха, те издигнаха глас и заплакаха; и всеки раздра дрехата си и посипаха пръст на главите си към небето.

So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.

И седяха с него на земята седем дни и седем нощи; и никой не му проговори дума, защото виждаха, че болката му беше много голяма.
