I Kings 3

And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.

И Соломон се сроди с египетския цар, фараона, и взе дъщерята на фараона и я доведе в Давидовия град, докато свърши строежа на къщата си и на ГОСПОДНИЯ дом, и на стената около Ерусалим.

Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.

А народът жертваше по високите места, понеже до онези дни нямаше дом, построен за ГОСПОДНОТО Име.

And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.

И Соломон възлюби ГОСПОДА и ходеше в наредбите на баща си Давид, само че и той жертваше и кадеше по високите места.

And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

И царят отиде в Гаваон, за да жертва там, защото това беше голямото високо място. Соломон принесе хиляда всеизгаряния на онзи олтар.

In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

В Гаваон ГОСПОД се яви на Соломон в сън през нощта и Бог каза: Искай какво да ти дам!

And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

А Соломон каза: Ти си оказал голяма милост на слугата Си, баща ми Давид, понеже той е ходил пред Теб във вярност, в правда и в правота на сърцето с Теб; и Ти си запазил за него тази голяма милост и си му дал син да седи на престола му, както е днес.

And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

И сега, ГОСПОДИ, Боже мой, Ти си направил слугата Си цар вместо баща ми Давид; но аз съм малко момче, не зная как да излизам и да влизам.

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

И слугата Ти е сред Твоя народ, който Ти си избрал — голям народ, който поради множеството си не може нито да се преброи, нито да се пресметне.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

Затова дай на слугата Си слушащо сърце, за да съди народа Ти и да различава между добро и зло, защото кой може да съди този Твой голям народ?

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

И думата се видя добра на Господа, че Соломон беше поискал това нещо.

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

И Бог му каза: Понеже поиска това нещо и не поиска за себе си дълъг живот, нито поиска за себе си богатства, нито поиска живота на враговете си, а поиска за себе си разум, за да разбираш правосъдие,

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

ето, направих според думите ти. Ето, дадох ти мъдро и разумно сърце, така че преди теб не е имало никой като теб и след теб няма да се издигне никой като теб.

And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

Дадох ти също и каквото не поиска — и богатства, и слава — така че между царете няма да има никой като теб през всичките ти дни.

And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

И ако ходиш в Моите пътища, да пазиш наредбите Ми и заповедите Ми, както ходи баща ти Давид, тогава ще продължа дните ти.

And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.

Тогава Соломон се събуди, и ето, беше сън. И той дойде в Ерусалим и застана пред ковчега на ГОСПОДНИЯ завет, и принесе всеизгаряния, и принесе примирителни жертви, и направи угощение за всичките си слуги.

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.

Тогава дойдоха при царя две блудници и застанаха пред него.

And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

И едната жена каза: О, господарю мой, аз и тази жена живеем в една къща; и аз родих при нея в къщата.

And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.

И на третия ден, след като родих, и тази жена роди. И бяхме заедно, нямаше чужд човек с нас в къщата, само ние двете бяхме в къщата.

And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.

И през нощта синът на тази жена умрял, понеже легнала върху него.

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

А тя станала посред нощ и взела сина ми от страната ми, докато слугинята ти спеше, и го сложила на пазвата си, а мъртвия си син сложила на моята пазва.

And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.

И когато станах на сутринта, за да накърмя сина си, ето, той беше мъртъв; но когато го разгледах на сутринта, ето, не беше моят син, когото бях родила.

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.

А другата жена каза: Не! Моят син е живият, а твоят син е мъртвият! А онази каза: Не! Твоят син е мъртвият, а моят син е живият! Така говореха пред царя.

Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.

Тогава царят каза: Едната казва: Този, живият, е моят син, а твоят син е мъртвият. А другата казва: Не! Твоят син е мъртвият, а моят син е живият.

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.

И царят каза: Донесете ми меч. И донесоха меча пред царя.

And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

И царят каза: Разделете на две живото дете и дайте половината на едната и половината на другата.

Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

Тогава жената, чийто син беше живият, говори на царя, понеже сърцето я заболя за сина й, и каза: О, господарю мой, дайте й живото дете, но моля те, не го убивайте! А другата каза: Да не е нито мое, нито твое — разделете го!

Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.

Тогава царят отговори и каза: Дайте на тази живото дете и не го убивайте. Тя е майка му.

And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.

И целият Израил чу за съда, който царят беше отсъдил, и се убояха от царя, защото видяха, че Божията мъдрост беше в него, за да раздава правосъдие.
