Ezekiel 18

И ГОСПОДНОТО слово беше към мен и каза:

The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,

Какво употребявате вие тази поговорка за израилевата земя, като казвате: Бащите ядоха кисело грозде, а зъбите на синовете скоминясаха?

What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?

Жив съм Аз, заявява Господ БОГ — няма вече да употребявате тази поговорка в Израил.

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.

Ето, всички души са Мои — както душата на бащата, така и душата на сина са Мои. Душата, която е съгрешила, тя ще умре.

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Но ако някой е праведен и постъпва право и праведно,

But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,

не яде по планините и не повдига очите си към идолите на израилевия дом, и не осквернява жената на ближния си, и не се приближава до жена в нечистотата й,

And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,

и не насилва никого, връща на длъжника залога му, не граби грабеж, дава хляба си на гладния и покрива голия с дреха,

And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;

не дава с лихва и не взема печалба, оттегля ръката си от неправда, върши правосъдие според истината между човек и човек,

He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,

ходи в наредбите Ми и пази правилата Ми, за да постъпва според истината — той е праведен, непременно ще живее, заявява Господ БОГ.

Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.

Но ако той роди син разбойник, който пролива кръв и върши някое от тези неща —

If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,

а той самият не е вършил нищо от това — а синът дори яде по планините и осквернява жената на ближния си,

And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,

насилва сиромаха и бедния, граби грабежи, не връща залог и повдига очите си към идолите, върши гнусотии,

Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,

дава с лихва и взема печалба — той ще живее ли? Няма да живее. Извършил е всички тези мерзости — непременно ще умре, кръвта му ще бъде върху него.

Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.

И ето, ако роди син който, като гледа всичките грехове, които баща му върши, и се бои и не върши такива неща,

Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,

не яде по планините и не повдига очите си към идолите на израилевия дом, и не осквернява жената на ближния си,

That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife,

и не насилва никого, не задържа залог, не граби грабеж, дава хляба си на гладния и покрива голия с дреха,

Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,

не посяга на сиромаха, не взема лихва и печалба, върши правилата Ми и ходи в наредбите Ми — той няма да умре за беззаконието на баща си, непременно ще живее.

That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

Баща му, понеже е насилвал жестоко, грабил е грабеж от брат си и е вършил това, което не е добро, сред народа си, ето, той ще умре в беззаконието си.

As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.

Но вие казвате: Защо синът не понася беззаконието на баща си? А синът е постъпвал право и праведно, пазил е всичките Ми наредби и ги е вършил — той непременно ще живее.

Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.

Душата, която греши, тя ще умре; синът няма да понесе беззаконието на баща си и бащата няма да понесе беззаконието на сина си. Правдата на праведния ще бъде за него и безбожието на безбожния ще бъде за него.

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Но ако безбожният се обърне от всичките грехове, които е вършил, и пази всичките Ми наредби и постъпва право и праведно, той непременно ще живее, няма да умре.

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Всичките му престъпления, които е извършил, няма да му се помнят; заради правдата, която е вършил, ще живее.

All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

Имам ли Аз благоволение в смъртта на безбожния? — заявява Господ БОГ. — Не ли по-скоро в това, да се обърне от пътя си и да живее?

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

Но ако праведният се обърне от правдата си и върши беззаконие и постъпва според всичките гнусотии, които върши безбожният, ще живее ли? Всички праведни дела, които е извършил, няма да се помнят; заради престъплението, което е извършил, и заради греха, който е извършил, заради тях ще умре.

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

А вие казвате: Пътят на Господа не е прав. Слушайте сега, доме израилЕв! Моят ли път не е прав? Не са ли криви вашите пътища?

Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

Когато праведният се обърне от правдата си и извърши беззаконие, ще умре за него; заради беззаконието, което е извършил, ще умре.

When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.

А когато безбожният се обърне от безбожието, което е вършил, и постъпва право и праведно, той ще запази жива душата си.

Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

Понеже е видял и се е обърнал от всичките престъпления които е вършил, непременно ще живее, няма да умре.

Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Но израилевият дом казва: Пътят на Господа не е прав. Моите ли пътища не са прави, доме израилев? Не са ли криви вашите пътища?

Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

Затова ще ви съдя всекиго според пътищата му, доме израилев, заявява Господ БОГ. Покайте се и се обърнете от всичките си престъпления, за да не ви стане това препънка за беззаконие.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Отхвърлете от себе си всичките си престъпления, които вършихте, и си направете ново сърце и нов дух! Защо да умрете, доме израилев?

Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Защото Аз нямам благоволение в смъртта на умиращия, заявява Господ БОГ. Затова обърнете се и живейте!

For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
