Hosea 2

اُس وقت اپنے بھائیوں کا نام عمی یعنی ’میری قوم‘ اور اپنی بہنوں کا نام رُحامہ یعنی ’جس پر رحم کیا گیا ہو‘ رکھو۔

Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ru–hamah.

اپنی ماں اسرائیل پر الزام لگاؤ، ہاں اُس پر الزام لگاؤ! کیونکہ نہ وہ میری بیوی ہے، نہ مَیں اُس کا شوہر ہوں۔ وہ اپنے چہرے سے اور اپنی چھاتیوں کے درمیان سے زناکاری کے نشان دُور کرے،

Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

ورنہ مَیں اُس کے کپڑے اُتار کر اُسے اُس ننگی حالت میں چھوڑوں گا جس میں وہ پیدا ہوئی۔ مَیں ہونے دوں گا کہ وہ ریگستان اور جُھلستی زمین میں تبدیل ہو جائے، کہ وہ پیاس کے مارے مر جائے۔

Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.

مَیں اُس کے بچوں پر بھی رحم نہیں کروں گا، کیونکہ وہ زناکار بچے ہیں۔

And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.

اُن کی ماں نے زنا کیا، اُنہیں جنم دینے والی نے شرم ناک حرکتیں کی ہیں۔ وہ بولی، ’مَیں اپنے عاشقوں کے پیچھے بھاگ جاؤں گی۔ آخر میری روٹی، پانی، اُون، کتان، تیل اور پینے کی چیزیں وہی مہیا کرتے ہیں۔‘

For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

اِس لئے جہاں بھی وہ چلنا چاہے وہاں مَیں اُسے کانٹےدار جھاڑیوں سے روک دوں گا، مَیں ایسی دیوار کھڑی کروں گا کہ اُسے راستے کا پتا نہ چلے۔

Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.

وہ اپنے عاشقوں کا پیچھا کرتے کرتے تھک جائے گی اور کبھی اُن تک پہنچے گی نہیں، وہ اُن کا کھوج لگاتی رہے گی لیکن اُنہیں پائے گی نہیں۔ پھر وہ بولے گی، ’مَیں اپنے پہلے شوہر کے پاس واپس جاؤں، کیونکہ اُس وقت میرا حال آج کی نسبت کہیں بہتر تھا۔‘

And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

لیکن وہ یہ بات جاننے کے لئے تیار نہیں کہ اُسے اللہ ہی کی طرف سے سب کچھ مہیا ہوا ہے۔ مَیں ہی نے اُسے وہ اناج، مَے، تیل اور کثرت کی سونا چاندی دے دی جو لوگوں نے بعل دیوتا کو پیش کی۔

For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

اِس لئے مَیں اپنے اناج اور اپنے انگور کو فصل کی کٹائی سے پہلے پہلے واپس لوں گا۔ جو اُون اور کتان مَیں اُسے دیتا رہا تاکہ اُس کی برہنگی نظر نہ آئے اُسے مَیں اُس سے چھین لوں گا۔

Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.

اُس کے عاشقوں کے دیکھتے دیکھتے مَیں اُس کے سارے کپڑے اُتاروں گا، اور کوئی اُسے میرے ہاتھ سے نہیں بچائے گا۔

And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.

مَیں اُس کی تمام خوشیاں بند کر دوں گا۔ نہ کوئی عید، نہ نئے چاند کا تہوار، نہ سبت کا دن یا باقی کوئی مقررہ جشن منایا جائے گا۔

I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.

مَیں اُس کے انگور اور انجیر کے باغوں کو تباہ کروں گا، اُن چیزوں کو جن کے بارے میں اُس نے کہا، ’یہ مجھے عاشقوں کی خدمت کرنے کے عوض مل گئی ہیں۔‘ مَیں یہ باغ جنگل بننے دوں گا، اور جنگلی جانور اُن کا پھل کھائیں گے۔

And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.

رب فرماتا ہے کہ مَیں اُسے اُن دنوں کی سزا دوں گا جب اُس نے بعل کے بُتوں کو بخور کی قربانیاں پیش کیں۔ اُس وقت وہ اپنے آپ کو بالیوں اور زیورات سے سجا کر اپنے عاشقوں کے پیچھے بھاگ گئی۔ مجھے وہ بھول گئی۔

And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD.

چنانچہ اب مَیں اُسے منانے کی کوشش کروں گا، اُسے ریگستان میں لے جا کر اُس سے نرمی سے بات کروں گا۔

Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.

پھر مَیں اُسے وہاں سے ہو کر اُس کے انگور کے باغ واپس کروں گا اور وادیِ عکور کو اُمید کے دروازے میں بدل دوں گا۔ اُس وقت وہ خوشی سے میرے پیچھے ہو کر وہاں چلے گی، بالکل اُسی طرح جس طرح جوانی میں کرتی تھی جب میرے پیچھے ہو کر مصر سے نکل آئی۔“

And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اُس دن تُو مجھے پکارتے وقت ’اے میرے بعل ‘ نہیں کہے گی بلکہ ’اے میرے خاوند۔‘

And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.

مَیں بعل دیوتاؤں کے نام تیرے منہ سے نکال دوں گا، اور تُو آئندہ اُن کے ناموں کا ذکر تک نہیں کرے گی۔

For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.

اُس دن مَیں جنگلی جانوروں، پرندوں اور رینگنے والے جانداروں کے ساتھ عہد باندھوں گا تاکہ وہ اسرائیل کو نقصان نہ پہنچائیں۔ کمان اور تلوار کو توڑ کر مَیں جنگ کا خطرہ ملک سے دُور کر دوں گا۔ سب آرام و سکون سے زندگی گزاریں گے۔

And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

مَیں تیرے ساتھ ابدی رشتہ باندھوں گا، ایسا رشتہ جو راستی، انصاف، فضل اور رحم پر مبنی ہو گا۔

And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

ہاں، جو رشتہ مَیں تیرے ساتھ باندھوں گا اُس کی بنیاد وفاداری ہو گی۔ تب تُو رب کو جان لے گی۔“

I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اُس دن مَیں سنوں گا۔ مَیں آسمان کی سن کر بادل پیدا کروں گا، آسمان زمین کی سن کر بارش برسائے گا،

And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;

زمین اناج، انگور اور زیتون کی سن کر اُنہیں تقویت دے گی، اور یہ چیزیں میدانِ یزرعیل کی سن کر کثرت سے پیدا ہو جائیں گی۔

And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

اُس وقت مَیں اپنی خاطر اسرائیل کا بیج ملک میں بو دوں گا۔ ’لورُحامہ ‘ پر مَیں رحم کروں گا، اور ’لوعمی ‘ سے مَیں کہوں گا، ’تُو میری قوم ہے۔‘ جواب میں وہ بولے گی، ’تُو میرا خدا ہے‘۔“

And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
