Hosea 1

ذیل میں رب کا وہ کلام درج ہے جو اُن دنوں میں ہوسیع بن بیری پر نازل ہوا جب عُزیّاہ، یوتام، آخز اور حِزقیاہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ اور یرُبعام بن یوآس اسرائیل کا بادشاہ تھا۔

The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

جب رب پہلی بار ہوسیع سے ہم کلام ہوا تو اُس نے حکم دیا، ”جا، زناکار عورت سے شادی کر اور زناکار بچے پیدا کر، کیونکہ ملک رب کی پیروی چھوڑ کر مسلسل زنا کرتا رہتا ہے۔“

The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

چنانچہ ہوسیع کی جُمر بنت دِبلائم سے شادی ہوئی۔ اُس کا پاؤں بھاری ہوا، اور بیٹا پیدا ہوا۔

So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

تب رب نے ہوسیع سے کہا، ”اُس کا نام یزرعیل رکھنا۔ کیونکہ جلد ہی مَیں یاہو کے خاندان کو یزرعیل میں اُس قتل و غارت کی سزا دوں گا جو اُس سے سرزد ہوئی۔ ساتھ ساتھ مَیں اسرائیلی بادشاہی کو بھی ختم کروں گا۔

And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

اُس دن مَیں میدانِ یزرعیل میں اسرائیل کی کمان کو توڑ ڈالوں گا۔“

And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.

اِس کے بعد جُمر دوبارہ اُمید سے ہوئی۔ اِس بار بیٹی پیدا ہوئی۔ رب نے ہوسیع سے کہا، ”اِس کا نام لورُحامہ یعنی ’جس پر رحم نہ ہوا ہو‘ رکھنا، کیونکہ آئندہ مَیں اسرائیلیوں پر رحم نہیں کروں گا بلکہ وہ میرے رحم سے سراسر محروم رہیں گے۔

And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo–ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

لیکن یہوداہ کے باشندوں پر مَیں رحم کر کے اُنہیں چھٹکارا دوں گا۔ مَیں اُنہیں کمان، تلوار، جنگ کے ہتھیاروں، گھوڑوں یا گھڑسواروں کی معرفت چھٹکارا نہیں دوں گا بلکہ مَیں جو رب اُن کا خدا ہوں خود ہی اُنہیں نجات دوں گا۔“

But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

لورُحامہ کا دودھ چھڑانے پر جُمر پھر حاملہ ہوئی۔ اِس مرتبہ بیٹا پیدا ہوا۔

Now when she had weaned Lo–ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

تب رب نے فرمایا، ”اِس کا نام لوعمی یعنی ’میری قوم نہیں‘ رکھنا۔ کیونکہ تم میری قوم نہیں، اور مَیں تمہارا خدا نہیں ہوں گا۔

Then said God, Call his name Lo–ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

لیکن وہ وقت آئے گا جب اسرائیلی سمندر کی ریت جیسے بےشمار ہوں گے۔ نہ اُن کی پیمائش کی جا سکے گی، نہ اُنہیں گنا جا سکے گا۔ تب جہاں اُن سے کہا گیا کہ ’تم میری قوم نہیں‘ وہاں وہ ’زندہ خدا کے فرزند‘ کہلائیں گے۔

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

تب یہوداہ اور اسرائیل کے لوگ متحد ہو جائیں گے اور مل کر ایک راہنما مقرر کریں گے۔ پھر وہ ملک میں سے نکل آئیں گے، کیونکہ یزرعیل کا دن عظیم ہو گا!

Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
