II Chronicles 13

ابیاہ اسرائیل کے بادشاہ یرُبعام اوّل کی حکومت کے 18ویں سال میں یہوداہ کا بادشاہ بنا۔

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

وہ تین سال بادشاہ رہا، اور اُس کا دار الحکومت یروشلم تھا۔ اُس کی ماں معکہ بنت اُوری ایل جِبعہ کی رہنے والی تھی۔ ایک دن ابیاہ اور یرُبعام کے درمیان جنگ چھڑ گئی۔

He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

4,00,000 تجربہ کار فوجیوں کو جمع کر کے ابیاہ یرُبعام سے لڑنے کے لئے نکلا۔ یرُبعام 8,00,000 تجربہ کار فوجیوں کے ساتھ اُس کے مقابل صف آرا ہوا۔

And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.

پھر ابیاہ نے افرائیم کے پہاڑی علاقے کے پہاڑ صمریم پر چڑھ کر بلند آواز سے پکارا، ”یرُبعام اور تمام اسرائیلیو، میری بات سنیں!

And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;

کیا آپ کو نہیں معلوم کہ رب اسرائیل کے خدا نے داؤد سے نمک کا ابدی عہد باندھ کر اُسے اور اُس کی اولاد کو ہمیشہ کے لئے اسرائیل کی سلطنت عطا کی ہے؟

Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

توبھی سلیمان بن داؤد کا ملازم یرُبعام بن نباط اپنے مالک کے خلاف اُٹھ کر باغی ہو گیا۔

Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.

اُس کے ارد گرد کچھ بدمعاش جمع ہوئے اور رحبعام بن سلیمان کی مخالفت کرنے لگے۔ اُس وقت وہ جوان اور ناتجربہ کار تھا، اِس لئے اُن کا صحیح مقابلہ نہ کر سکا۔

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

اور اب آپ واقعی سمجھتے ہیں کہ ہم رب کی بادشاہی پر فتح پا سکتے ہیں، اُسی بادشاہی پر جو داؤد کی اولاد کے ہاتھ میں ہے۔ آپ سمجھتے ہیں کہ آپ کی فوج بہت ہی بڑی ہے، اور کہ سونے کے بچھڑے آپ کے ساتھ ہیں، وہی بُت جو یرُبعام نے آپ کی پوجا کے لئے تیار کر رکھے ہیں۔

And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

لیکن آپ نے رب کے اماموں یعنی ہارون کی اولاد کو لاویوں سمیت ملک سے نکال کر اُن کی جگہ ایسے پجاری خدمت کے لئے مقرر کئے جیسے بُت پرست قوموں میں پائے جاتے ہیں۔ جو بھی چاہتا ہے کہ اُسے مخصوص کر کے امام بنایا جائے اُسے صرف ایک جوان بَیل اور سات مینڈھے پیش کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔ یہ اِن نام نہاد خداؤں کا پجاری بننے کے لئے کافی ہے۔

Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

لیکن جہاں تک ہمارا تعلق ہے رب ہی ہمارا خدا ہے۔ ہم نے اُسے ترک نہیں کیا۔ صرف ہارون کی اولاد ہی ہمارے امام ہیں۔ صرف یہ اور لاوی رب کی خدمت کرتے ہیں۔

But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

یہی صبح شام اُسے بھسم ہونے والی قربانیاں اور خوشبودار بخور پیش کرتے ہیں۔ پاک میز پر رب کے لئے مخصوص روٹیاں رکھنا اور سونے کے شمع دان کے چراغ جلانا اِن ہی کی ذمہ داری رہی ہے۔ غرض، ہم رب اپنے خدا کی ہدایات پر عمل کرتے ہیں جبکہ آپ نے اُسے ترک کر دیا ہے۔

And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.

چنانچہ اللہ ہمارے ساتھ ہے۔ وہی ہمارا راہنما ہے، اور اُس کے امام تُرم بجا کر آپ سے لڑنے کا اعلان کریں گے۔ اسرائیل کے مردو، خبردار! رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا سے مت لڑنا۔ یہ جنگ آپ جیت ہی نہیں سکتے!“

And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

اِتنے میں یرُبعام نے چپکے سے کچھ دستوں کو یہوداہ کی فوج کے پیچھے بھیج دیا تاکہ وہاں تاک میں بیٹھ جائیں۔ یوں اُس کی فوج کا ایک حصہ یہوداہ کی فوج کے سامنے اور دوسرا حصہ اُس کے پیچھے تھا۔

But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.

اچانک یہوداہ کے فوجیوں کو پتا چلا کہ دشمن سامنے اور پیچھے سے ہم پر حملہ کر رہا ہے۔ چیختے چلّاتے ہوئے اُنہوں نے رب سے مدد مانگی۔ اماموں نے اپنے تُرم بجائے

And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

اور یہوداہ کے مردوں نے جنگ کا نعرہ لگایا۔ جب اُن کی آوازیں بلند ہوئیں تو اللہ نے یرُبعام اور تمام اسرائیلیوں کو شکست دے کر ابیاہ اور یہوداہ کی فوج کے سامنے سے بھگا دیا۔

Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

اسرائیلی فرار ہوئے، لیکن اللہ نے اُنہیں یہوداہ کے حوالے کر دیا۔

And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.

ابیاہ اور اُس کے لوگ اُنہیں بڑا نقصان پہنچا سکے۔ اسرائیل کے 5,00,000 تجربہ کار فوجی میدانِ جنگ میں مارے گئے۔

And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.

اُس وقت اسرائیل کی بڑی بےعزتی ہوئی جبکہ یہوداہ کو تقویت ملی۔ کیونکہ وہ رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا پر بھروسا رکھتے تھے۔

Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.

ابیاہ نے یرُبعام کا تعاقب کرتے کرتے اُس سے تین شہر گرد و نواح کی آبادیوں سمیت چھین لئے، بیت ایل، یسانہ اور عِفرون۔

And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth–el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.

ابیاہ کے جیتے جی یرُبعام دوبارہ تقویت نہ پا سکا، اور تھوڑی دیر کے بعد رب نے اُسے مار دیا۔

Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.

اُس کے مقابلے میں ابیاہ کی طاقت بڑھتی گئی۔ اُس کی 14 بیویوں کے 22 بیٹے اور 16 بیٹیاں پیدا ہوئیں۔

But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.

باقی جو کچھ ابیاہ کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا اور جو کچھ اُس نے کیا اور کہا، وہ عِدّو نبی کی کتاب میں بیان کیا گیا ہے۔

And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.
