II Chronicles 27

Jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok.

Giô-tham được hai mươi lăm tuổi khi người lên ngôi làm vua, và người cai trị mười sáu năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; mẹ người tên là Giê-ru-sa, con gái của Xa-đốc.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did: howbeit he entered not into the temple of the LORD. And the people did yet corruptly.

Người làm điều thiện trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, y theo mọi điều Ô-xia, cha người, đã làm; song người không vào đền thờ của Ðức Giê-hô-va; còn dân sự lại càng làm luông tuồng nữa.

He built the high gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.

Người xây cửa trên của đền Ðức Giê-hô-va, và xây nhiều trên tường thành Ô-phên.

Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

Người cũng xây những thành trong miền núi Giu-đa, và đền đài cùng những tháp ở trên rừng.

He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.

Người đánh giặc với vua dân Am-môn, và thắng được chúng. Trong năm đó, dân Am-môn nộp cho người một trăm ta lâng bạc một vạn cô-rơ lúa miến, và một vạn cô-rơ lúc mạch. Trong năm thứ nhì và thứ ba, dân Am-môn cũng tiến cống người số ấy.

So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.

Vậy, Giô-tham trở nên cường thạnh, bởi vì người đi đường chánh đáng trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, là Ðức Chúa Trời mình.

Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

Các công việc khác của Giô-tham, hết thảy những chiến trận và đường lối của người, đều chép trong sách các vua Y-sơ-ra-ên và Giu-đa.

He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

Người được hai mươi lăm tuổi khi lên làm vua, và người cai trị mười sáu năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

Người an giấc cùng tổ tiên mình, người ta chôn người tại trong thành Ða-vít; đoạn A-cha, con trai người, cai trị thế cho người.
