Psalms 4

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ تاردار سازوں کے ساتھ گانا ہے۔ اے میری راستی کے خدا، میری سن جب مَیں تجھے پکارتا ہوں۔ اے تُو جو مصیبت میں میری مخلصی رہا ہے مجھ پر مہربانی کر کے میری التجا سن!

O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

اے آدم زادو، میری عزت کب تک خاک میں ملائی جاتی رہے گی؟ تم کب تک باطل چیزوں سے لپٹے رہو گے، کب تک جھوٹ کی تلاش میں رہو گے؟ (سِلاہ)

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

جان لو کہ رب نے ایمان دار کو اپنے لئے الگ کر رکھا ہے۔ رب میری سنے گا جب مَیں اُسے پکاروں گا۔

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

غصے میں آتے وقت گناہ مت کرنا۔ اپنے بستر پر لیٹ کر معاملے پر سوچ بچار کرو، لیکن دل میں، خاموشی سے۔ (سِلاہ)

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

راستی کی قربانیاں پیش کرو، اور رب پر بھروسا رکھو۔

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

بہتیرے شک کر رہے ہیں، ”کون ہمارے حالات ٹھیک کرے گا؟“ اے رب، اپنے چہرے کا نور ہم پر چمکا!

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

تُو نے میرے دل کو خوشی سے بھر دیا ہے، ایسی خوشی سے جو اُن کے پاس بھی نہیں ہوتی جن کے پاس کثرت کا اناج اور انگور ہے۔

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

مَیں آرام سے لیٹ کر سو جاتا ہوں، کیونکہ تُو ہی اے رب مجھے حفاظت سے بسنے دیتا ہے۔
