Joshua 11

And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

جب حصور کے بادشاہ یابین کو اِن واقعات کی خبر ملی تو اُس نے مدون کے بادشاہ یوباب اور سِمرون اور اَکشاف کے بادشاہوں کو پیغام بھیجے۔

And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,

اِس کے علاوہ اُس نے اُن بادشاہوں کو پیغام بھیجے جو شمال میں تھے یعنی شمالی پہاڑی علاقے میں، وادیِ یردن کے اُس حصے میں جو کِنّرت یعنی گلیل کے جنوب میں ہے، مغرب کے نشیبی پہاڑی علاقے میں، مغرب میں واقع نافت دور میں

And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

اور کنعان کے مشرق اور مغرب میں۔ یابین نے اموریوں، حِتّیوں، فرِزّیوں، پہاڑی علاقے کے یبوسیوں اور حرمون پہاڑ کے دامن میں واقع ملکِ مِصفاہ کے حِوّیوں کو بھی پیغام بھیجے۔

And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

چنانچہ یہ اپنی تمام فوجوں کو لے کر جنگ کے لئے نکلے۔ اُن کے آدمی سمندر کے ساحل کی ریت کی مانند بےشمار تھے۔ اُن کے پاس متعدد گھوڑے اور رتھ بھی تھے۔

And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

اِن تمام بادشاہوں نے اسرائیل سے لڑنے کے لئے متحد ہو کر اپنے خیمے میروم کے چشمے پر لگا دیئے۔

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

رب نے یشوع سے کہا، ”اُن سے مت ڈرنا، کیونکہ کل اِسی وقت تک مَیں نے اُن سب کو ہلاک کر کے اسرائیل کے حوالے کر دیا ہو گا۔ تجھے اُن کے گھوڑوں کی کونچوں کو کاٹنا اور اُن کے رتھوں کو جلا دینا ہے۔“

So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.

چنانچہ یشوع اپنے تمام فوجیوں کو لے کر میروم کے چشمے پر آیا اور اچانک دشمن پر حملہ کیا۔

And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth–maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

اور رب نے دشمنوں کو اسرائیلیوں کے حوالے کر دیا۔ اسرائیلیوں نے اُنہیں شکست دی اور اُن کا تعاقب کرتے کرتے شمال میں بڑے شہر صیدا اور مسرفات مائم تک جا پہنچے۔ اِسی طرح اُنہوں نے مشرق میں وادیِ مِصفاہ تک بھی اُن کا تعاقب کیا۔ آخر میں ایک بھی نہ بچا۔

And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

رب کی ہدایت کے مطابق یشوع نے دشمن کے گھوڑوں کی کونچوں کو کٹوا کر اُس کے رتھوں کو جلا دیا۔

And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.

پھر یشوع واپس آیا اور حصور کو اپنے قبضے میں لے لیا۔ حصور اُن تمام بادشاہتوں کا صدر مقام تھا جنہیں اُنہوں نے شکست دی تھی۔ اسرائیلیوں نے شہر کے بادشاہ کو مار دیا

And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

اور شہر کے ہر جاندار کو اللہ کے حوالے کر کے ہلاک کر دیا۔ ایک بھی نہ بچا۔ پھر یشوع نے شہر کو جلا دیا۔

And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

اِسی طرح یشوع نے اُن باقی بادشاہوں کے شہروں پر بھی قبضہ کر لیا جو اسرائیل کے خلاف متحد ہو گئے تھے۔ ہر شہر کو اُس نے رب کے خادم موسیٰ کے حکم کے مطابق تباہ کر دیا۔ بادشاہوں سمیت سب کچھ نیست کر دیا گیا۔

But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.

لیکن یشوع نے صرف حصور کو جلایا۔ پہاڑیوں پر کے باقی شہروں کو اُس نے رہنے دیا۔

And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

لُوٹ کا جو بھی مال جانوروں سمیت اُن میں پایا گیا اُسے اسرائیلیوں نے اپنے پاس رکھ لیا۔ لیکن تمام باشندوں کو اُنہوں نے مار ڈالا اور ایک بھی نہ بچنے دیا۔

As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

کیونکہ رب نے اپنے خادم موسیٰ کو یہی حکم دیا تھا، اور یشوع نے سب کچھ ویسے ہی کیا جیسے رب نے موسیٰ کو حکم دیا تھا۔

So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;

یوں یشوع نے پورے کنعان پر قبضہ کر لیا۔ اِس میں پہاڑی علاقہ، پورا دشتِ نجب، جشن کا پورا علاقہ، مغرب کا نشیبی پہاڑی علاقہ، وادیِ یردن اور اسرائیل کے پہاڑ اُن کے دامن کی پہاڑیوں سمیت شامل تھے۔

Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal–gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.

اب یشوع کی پہنچ جنوب میں سعیر کی طرف بڑھنے والے پہاڑ خلق سے لے کر لبنان کے میدانی علاقے کے شہر بعل جد تک تھی جو حرمون پہاڑ کے دامن میں تھا۔ یشوع نے اِن علاقوں کے تمام بادشاہوں کو پکڑ کر مار ڈالا۔

Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

لیکن اِن بادشاہوں سے جنگ کرنے میں بہت وقت لگا،

There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

کیونکہ جِبعون میں رہنے والے حِوّیوں کے علاوہ کسی بھی شہر نے اسرائیلیوں سے صلح نہ کی۔ اِس لئے اسرائیل کو اُن سب پر جنگ کر کے ہی قبضہ کرنا پڑا۔

For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

رب ہی نے اُنہیں اکڑنے دیا تھا تاکہ وہ اسرائیل سے جنگ کریں اور اُن پر رحم نہ کیا جائے بلکہ اُنہیں پورے طور پر رب کے حوالے کر کے ہلاک کیا جائے۔ لازم تھا کہ اُنہیں یوں نیست و نابود کیا جائے جس طرح رب نے موسیٰ کو حکم دیا تھا۔

And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

اُس وقت یشوع نے اُن تمام عناقیوں کو ہلاک کر دیا جو حبرون، دبیر، عناب اور اُن تمام جگہوں میں رہتے تھے جو یہوداہ اور اسرائیل کے پہاڑی علاقے میں تھیں۔ اُس نے اُن سب کو اُن کے شہروں سمیت اللہ کے حوالے کر کے تباہ کر دیا۔

There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

اسرائیل کے پورے علاقے میں عناقیوں میں سے ایک بھی نہ بچا۔ صرف غزہ، جات اور اشدود میں کچھ زندہ رہے۔

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

غرض یشوع نے پورے ملک پر یوں قبضہ کیا جس طرح رب نے موسیٰ کو بتایا تھا۔ پھر اُس نے اُسے قبیلوں میں تقسیم کر کے اسرائیل کو میراث میں دے دیا۔ جنگ ختم ہوئی، اور ملک میں امن و امان قائم ہو گیا۔
