Jeremiah 49

Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

عمونیوں کے بارے میں رب فرماتا ہے، ”کیا اسرائیل کی کوئی اولاد نہیں، کوئی وارث نہیں جو جد کے قبائلی علاقے میں رہ سکے؟ مَلِک دیوتا کے پرستاروں نے اُس پر کیوں قبضہ کیا ہے؟ کیا وجہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ جد کے شہروں میں آباد ہو گئے ہیں؟“

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

چنانچہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”وہ وقت آنے والا ہے کہ میرے حکم پر عمونی دار الحکومت ربّہ کے خلاف جنگ کے نعرے لگائے جائیں گے۔ تب وہ ملبے کا ڈھیر بن جائے گا، اور گرد و نواح کی آبادیاں نذرِ آتش ہو جائیں گی۔ تب اسرائیل اُنہیں ملک بدر کرے گا جنہوں نے اُسے ملک بدر کیا تھا۔“ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.

”اے حسبون، واویلا کر، کیونکہ عَی شہر برباد ہوا ہے۔ اے ربّہ کی بیٹیو، مدد کے لئے چلّاؤ! ٹاٹ اوڑھ کر ماتم کرو! فصیل کے اندر بےچینی سے اِدھر اُدھر پھرو! کیونکہ مَلِک دیوتا اپنے پجاریوں اور بزرگوں سمیت جلاوطن ہو جائے گا۔

Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?

اے بےوفا بیٹی، تُو اپنی زرخیز وادیوں پر اِتنا فخر کیوں کرتی ہے؟ تُو اپنے مال و دولت پر بھروسا کر کے شیخی مارتی ہے کہ اب مجھ پر کوئی حملہ نہیں کرے گا۔“

Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.

قادرِ مطلق رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”مَیں تمام پڑوسیوں کی طرف سے تجھ پر دہشت چھا جانے دوں گا۔ تم سب کو چاروں طرف منتشر کر دیا جائے گا، اور تیرے پناہ گزینوں کو کوئی جمع نہیں کرے گا۔

And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

لیکن بعد میں مَیں عمونیوں کو بحال کروں گا۔“ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

رب الافواج ادوم کے بارے میں فرماتا ہے، ”کیا تیمان میں حکمت کا نام و نشان نہیں رہا؟ کیا دانش مند صحیح مشورہ نہیں دے سکتے؟ کیا اُن کی دانائی بےکار ہو گئی ہے؟

Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.

اے ددان کے باشندو، بھاگ کر ہجرت کرو، زمین کے اندر چھپ جاؤ۔ کیونکہ مَیں عیسَو کی اولاد پر آفت نازل کرتا ہوں، میری سزا کا دن قریب آ گیا ہے۔

If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.

اے ادوم، اگر تُو انگور کا باغ ہوتا اور مزدور فصل چننے کے لئے آتے تو تھوڑا بہت اُن کے پیچھے رہ جاتا۔ اگر ڈاکو رات کے وقت تجھے لُوٹ لیتے تو وہ صرف اُتنا ہی چھین لیتے جتنا اُٹھا کر لے جا سکتے ہیں۔ لیکن تیرا انجام اِس سے کہیں زیادہ بُرا ہو گا۔

But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

کیونکہ مَیں نے عیسَو کو ننگا کر کے اُس کی تمام چھپنے کی جگہیں ڈھونڈ نکالی ہیں۔ وہ کہیں بھی چھپ نہیں سکے گا۔ اُس کی اولاد، بھائی اور ہم سائے ہلاک ہو جائیں گے، ایک بھی باقی نہیں رہے گا۔

Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

اپنے یتیموں کو پیچھے چھوڑ دے، کیونکہ مَیں اُن کی جان کو بچائے رکھوں گا۔ تمہاری بیوائیں بھی مجھ پر بھروسا رکھیں۔“

For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”جنہیں میرے غضب کا پیالہ پینے کا فیصلہ نہیں سنایا گیا تھا اُنہیں بھی پینا پڑا۔ تو پھر تیری جان کس طرح بچے گی؟ نہیں، تُو یقیناً سزا کا پیالہ پی لے گا۔“

For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”میرے نام کی قَسم، بُصرہ شہر گرد و نواح کے تمام شہروں سمیت ابدی کھنڈرات بن جائے گا۔ اُسے دیکھ کر لوگوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو جائیں گے، اور وہ اُسے لعن طعن کریں گے۔ لعنت کرنے والا اپنے دشمن کے لئے بُصرہ ہی کا سا انجام چاہے گا۔“

I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

مَیں نے رب کی طرف سے پیغام سنا ہے، ”ایک قاصد کو اقوام کے پاس بھیجا گیا ہے جو اُنہیں حکم دے، ’جمع ہو کر ادوم پر حملہ کرنے کے لئے نکلو! اُس سے لڑنے کے لئے اُٹھو!‘

For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.

اب مَیں تجھے چھوٹا بنا دوں گا، ایک ایسی قوم جسے دیگر لوگ حقیر جانیں گے۔

Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.

ماضی میں دوسرے تجھ سے دہشت کھاتے تھے، لیکن اِس بات نے اور تیرے غرور نے تجھے فریب دیا ہے۔ بےشک تُو چٹانوں کی دراڑوں میں بسیرا کرتا ہے، اور پہاڑی بلندیاں تیرے قبضے میں ہیں۔ لیکن خواہ تُو اپنا گھونسلا عقاب کی سی اونچی جگہوں پر کیوں نہ بنائے توبھی مَیں تجھے وہاں سے اُتار کر خاک میں ملا دوں گا۔“ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

”ملکِ ادوم یوں برباد ہو جائے گا کہ وہاں سے گزرنے والوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو جائیں گے۔ اُس کے زخموں کو دیکھ کر وہ ’توبہ توبہ‘ کہیں گے۔“

As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اُس کا انجام سدوم، عمورہ اور اُن کے پڑوسی شہروں کی مانند ہو گا جنہیں اللہ نے اُلٹا کر نیست و نابود کر دیا۔ وہاں کوئی نہیں بسے گا۔

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

جس طرح شیرببر یردن کے جنگل سے نکل کر شاداب چراگاہوں میں چرنے والی بھیڑبکریوں پر ٹوٹ پڑتا ہے اُسی طرح مَیں اچانک ادوم پر حملہ کر کے اُسے اُس کے اپنے ملک سے بھگا دوں گا۔ تب وہ جسے مَیں نے مقرر کیا ہے ادوم پر حکومت کرے گا۔ کیونکہ کون میری مانند ہے؟ کون مجھ سے جواب طلب کر سکتا ہے؟ کون سا گلہ بان میرا مقابلہ کر سکتا ہے؟“

Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.

چنانچہ ادوم پر رب کا فیصلہ سنو! تیمان کے باشندوں کے لئے اُس کے منصوبے پر دھیان دو! دشمن پورے ریوڑ کو سب سے ننھے بچوں سے لے کر بڑوں تک گھسیٹ کر لے جائے گا۔ اُس کی چراگاہ ویران و سنسان ہو جائے گی۔

The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.

ادوم اِتنے دھڑام سے گر جائے گا کہ زمین تھرتھرا اُٹھے گی۔ لوگوں کی چیخیں بحرِ قُلزم تک سنائی دیں گی۔

Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

وہ دیکھو! دشمن عقاب کی طرح اُڑ کر ادوم پر جھپٹا مارتا ہے۔ وہ اپنے پَروں کو پھیلا کر بُصرہ پر سایہ ڈالتا ہے۔ اُس دن ادومی سورماؤں کا دل دردِ زہ میں مبتلا عورت کی طرح پیچ و تاب کھائے گا۔

Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

رب دمشق کے بارے میں فرماتا ہے، ”حمات اور ارفاد شرمندہ ہو گئے ہیں۔ بُری خبریں سن کر وہ ہمت ہار گئے ہیں۔ پریشانی نے اُنہیں اُس متلاطم سمندر جیسا بےچین کر دیا ہے جو تھم نہیں سکتا۔

Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

دمشق ہمت ہار کر بھاگنے کے لئے مُڑ گیا ہے۔ دہشت اُس پر چھا گئی ہے، اور وہ دردِ زہ میں مبتلا عورت کی طرح تڑپ رہا ہے۔

How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

ہائے، دمشق کو ترک کیا گیا ہے! جس مشہور شہر سے میرا دل لطف اندوز ہوتا تھا وہ ویران و سنسان ہے۔“

Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”اُس دن اُس کے جوان آدمی گلیوں میں گر کر رہ جائیں گے، اُس کے تمام فوجی ہلاک ہو جائیں گے۔

And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben–hadad.

مَیں دمشق کی فصیل کو آگ لگا دوں گا جو پھیلتے پھیلتے بن ہدد بادشاہ کے محلوں کو بھی اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لے گی۔“

Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

ذیل میں قیدار اور حصور کے بَدُو قبیلوں کے بارے میں کلام درج ہے۔ بعد میں شاہِ بابل نبوکدنضر نے اُنہیں شکست دی۔ رب فرماتا ہے، ”اُٹھو! قیدار پر حملہ کرو! مشرق میں بسنے والے بَدُو قبیلوں کو تباہ کرو!

Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.

تم اُن کے خیموں، بھیڑبکریوں اور اونٹوں کو چھین لو گے، اُن کے خیموں کے پردوں اور باقی سامان کو لُوٹ لو گے۔ چیخیں سنائی دیں گی، ’ہائے، چاروں طرف دہشت ہی دہشت‘!“

Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اے حصور میں بسنے والے قبیلو، جلدی سے بھاگ جاؤ، زمین کی دراڑوں میں چھپ جاؤ! کیونکہ شاہِ بابل نے تم پر حملہ کرنے کا فیصلہ کر کے تمہارے خلاف منصوبہ باندھ لیا ہے۔“

Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اے بابل کے فوجیو، اُٹھ کر اُس قوم پر حملہ کرو جو علیٰحدگی میں پُرسکون اور محفوظ زندگی گزارتی ہے، جس کے نہ دروازے، نہ کنڈے ہیں۔

And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.

اُن کے اونٹ اور بڑے بڑے ریوڑ لُوٹ کا مال بن جائیں گے۔ کیونکہ مَیں ریگستان کے کنارے پر رہنے والے اِن قبیلوں کو چاروں طرف منتشر کر دوں گا۔ اُن پر چاروں طرف سے آفت آئے گی۔“ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.

”حصور ہمیشہ تک ویران و سنسان رہے گا، اُس میں کوئی نہیں بسے گا۔ گیدڑ ہی اُس میں اپنے گھر بنا لیں گے۔“

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

شاہِ یہوداہ صِدقیاہ کی حکومت کے ابتدائی دنوں میں رب یرمیاہ نبی سے ہم کلام ہوا۔ پیغام عیلام کے متعلق تھا۔

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

”رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں عیلام کی کمان کو توڑ ڈالتا ہوں، اُس ہتھیار کو جس پر عیلام کی طاقت مبنی ہے۔

And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

آسمان کی چاروں سمتوں سے مَیں عیلامیوں کے خلاف تیز ہَوائیں چلاؤں گا جو اُنہیں اُڑا کر چاروں طرف منتشر کر دیں گی۔ کوئی ایسا ملک نہیں ہو گا جس تک عیلامی جلاوطن نہیں پہنچیں گے۔‘

For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

رب فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں عیلام کو اُس کے جانی دشمنوں کے سامنے پاش پاش کر دوں گا۔ مَیں اُن پر آفت لاؤں گا، میرا سخت قہر اُن پر نازل ہو گا۔ جب تک وہ نیست نہ ہوں مَیں تلوار کو اُن کے پیچھے چلاتا رہوں گا۔

And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.

تب مَیں عیلام میں اپنا تخت کھڑا کر کے اُس کے بادشاہ اور بزرگوں کو تباہ کر دوں گا۔‘ یہ رب کا فرمان ہے۔

But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.

لیکن رب یہ بھی فرماتا ہے، ’آنے والے دنوں میں مَیں عیلام کو بحال کروں گا‘۔“
