Isaiah 60

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

”اُٹھ، کھڑی ہو کر چمک اُٹھ! کیونکہ تیرا نور آ گیا ہے، اور رب کا جلال تجھ پر طلوع ہوا ہے۔

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

کیونکہ گو زمین پر تاریکی چھائی ہوئی ہے اور اقوام گھنے اندھیرے میں رہتی ہیں، لیکن تجھ پر رب کا نور طلوع ہو رہا ہے، اور اُس کا جلال تجھ پر ظاہر ہو رہا ہے۔

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

اقوام تیرے نور کے پاس اور بادشاہ اُس چمکتی دمکتی روشنی کے پاس آئیں گے جو تجھ پر طلوع ہو گی۔

Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

اپنی نظر اُٹھا کر چاروں طرف دیکھ! سب کے سب جمع ہو کر تیرے پاس آ رہے ہیں۔ تیرے بیٹے دُور دُور سے پہنچ ر ہے ہیں، اور تیری بیٹیوں کو گود میں اُٹھا کر قریب لایا جا رہا ہے۔

Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

اُس وقت تُو یہ دیکھ کر چمک اُٹھے گی۔ تیرا دل خوشی کے مارے تیزی سے دھڑکنے لگے گا اور کشادہ ہو جائے گا۔ کیونکہ سمندر کے خزانے تیرے پاس لائے جائیں گے، اقوام کی دولت تیرے پاس پہنچے گی۔

The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

اونٹوں کا غول بلکہ مِدیان اور عیفہ کے جوان اونٹ تیرے ملک کو ڈھانپ دیں گے۔ وہ سونے اور بخور سے لدے ہوئے اور رب کی حمد و ثنا کرتے ہوئے ملکِ سبا سے آئیں گے۔

All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

قیدار کی تمام بھیڑبکریاں تیرے حوالے کی جائیں گی، اور نبایوت کے مینڈھے تیری خدمت کے لئے حاضر ہوں گے۔ اُنہیں میری قربان گاہ پر چڑھایا جائے گا اور مَیں اُنہیں پسند کروں گا۔ یوں مَیں اپنے جلال کے گھر کو شان و شوکت سے آراستہ کروں گا۔

Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

یہ کون ہیں جو بادلوں کی طرح اور کابُک کے پاس واپس آنے والے کبوتروں کی مانند اُڑ کر آ رہے ہیں؟

Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

یہ ترسیس کے زبردست بحری جہاز ہیں جو تیرے پاس پہنچ رہے ہیں۔ کیونکہ جزیرے مجھ سے اُمید رکھتے ہیں۔ یہ جہاز تیرے بیٹوں کو اُن کی سونے چاندی سمیت دُوردراز علاقوں سے لے کر آ رہے ہیں۔ یوں رب تیرے خدا کے نام اور اسرائیل کے قدوس کی تعظیم ہو گی جس نے تجھے شان و شوکت سے نوازا ہے۔

And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

پردیسی تیری دیواریں از سرِ نو تعمیر کریں گے، اور اُن کے بادشاہ تیری خدمت کریں گے۔ کیونکہ گو مَیں نے اپنے غضب میں تجھے سزا دی، لیکن اب مَیں اپنے فضل سے تجھ پر رحم کروں گا۔

Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

تیری فصیل کے دروازے ہمیشہ کھلے رہیں گے۔ اُنہیں نہ دن کو بند کیا جائے گا، نہ رات کو تاکہ اقوام کا مال و دولت اور اُن کے گرفتار کئے گئے بادشاہوں کو شہر کے اندر لایا جا سکے۔

For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

کیونکہ جو قوم یا سلطنت تیری خدمت کرنے سے انکار کرے وہ برباد ہو جائے گی، اُسے پورے طور پر تباہ کیا جائے گا۔

The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

لبنان کی شان و شوکت تیرے سامنے حاضر ہو گی۔ جونیپر، صنوبر اور سرو کے درخت مل کر تیرے پاس آئیں گے تاکہ میرے مقدِس کو آراستہ کریں۔ یوں مَیں اپنے پاؤں کی چوکی کو جلال دوں گا۔

The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

تجھ پر ظلم کرنے والوں کے بیٹے جھک جھک کر تیرے حضور آئیں گے، تیری تحقیر کرنے والے تیرے پاؤں کے سامنے اوندھے منہ ہو جائیں گے۔ وہ تجھے ’رب کا شہر‘ اور ’اسرائیل کے قدوس کا صیون‘ قرار دیں گے۔

Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

پہلے تجھے ترک کیا گیا تھا، لوگ تجھ سے نفرت رکھتے تھے، اور تجھ میں سے کوئی نہیں گزرتا تھا۔ لیکن اب مَیں تجھے ابدی فخر کا باعث بنا دوں گا، اور تمام نسلیں تجھے دیکھ کر خوش ہوں گی۔

Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

تُو اقوام کا دودھ پیئے گی، اور بادشاہ تجھے دودھ پلائیں گے۔ تب تُو جان لے گی کہ مَیں رب تیرا نجات دہندہ ہوں، کہ مَیں جو یعقوب کا زبردست سورما ہوں تیرا چھڑانے والا ہوں۔

For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

مَیں تیرے پیتل کو سونے میں، تیرے لوہے کو چاندی میں، تیری لکڑی کو پیتل میں اور تیرے پتھر کو لوہے میں بدلوں گا۔ مَیں سلامتی کو تیری محافظ اور راستی کو تیری نگران بناؤں گا۔

Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

اب سے تیرے ملک میں نہ تشدد کا ذکر ہو گا، نہ بربادی و تباہی کا۔ اب سے تیری چاردیواری ’نجات‘ اور تیرے دروازے ’حمد و ثنا‘ کہلائیں گے۔

The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

آئندہ تجھے نہ دن کے وقت سورج، نہ رات کے وقت چاند کی ضرورت ہو گی، کیونکہ رب ہی تیری ابدی روشنی ہو گا، تیرا خدا ہی تیری آب و تاب ہو گا۔

Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

آئندہ تیرا سورج کبھی غروب نہیں ہو گا، تیرا چاند کبھی نہیں گھٹے گا۔ کیونکہ رب تیرا ابدی نور ہو گا، اور ماتم کے تیرے دن ختم ہو جائیں گے۔

Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

تب تیری قوم کے تمام افراد راست باز ہوں گے، اور ملک ہمیشہ تک اُن کی ملکیت رہے گا۔ کیونکہ وہ میرے ہاتھ سے لگائی ہوئی پنیری ہوں گے، میرے ہاتھ کا کام جس سے مَیں اپنا جلال ظاہر کروں گا۔

A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

تب سب سے چھوٹے خاندان کی تعداد بڑھ کر ہزار افراد پر مشتمل ہو گی، سب سے کمزور کنبہ طاقت ور قوم بنے گا۔ مقررہ وقت پر مَیں، رب یہ سب کچھ تیزی سے انجام دوں گا۔“
