Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

رب قادرِ مطلق کا روح مجھ پر ہے، کیونکہ رب نے مجھے تیل سے مسح کر کے غریبوں کو خوش خبری سنانے کا اختیار دیا ہے۔ اُس نے مجھے شکستہ دلوں کی مرہم پٹی کرنے کے لئے اور یہ اعلان کرنے کے لئے بھیجا ہے کہ قیدیوں کو رِہائی ملے گی اور زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے آزاد ہو جائیں گے،

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

کہ بحالی کا سال اور ہمارے خدا کے انتقام کا دن آ گیا ہے۔ اُس نے مجھے بھیجا ہے کہ مَیں تمام ماتم کرنے والوں کو تسلی دوں

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

اور صیون کے سوگواروں کو دلاسا دے کر راکھ کے بجائے شاندار تاج، ماتم کے بجائے خوشی کا تیل اور شکستہ روح کے بجائے حمد و ثنا کا لباس مہیا کروں۔ تب وہ ’راستی کے درخت‘ کہلائیں گے، ایسے پودے جو رب نے اپنا جلال ظاہر کرنے کے لئے لگائے ہیں۔

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

وہ قدیم کھنڈرات کو از سرِ نو تعمیر کر کے دیر سے برباد ہوئے مقاموں کو بحال کریں گے۔ وہ اُن تباہ شدہ شہروں کو دوبارہ قائم کریں گے جو نسل در نسل ویران و سنسان رہے ہیں۔

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

غیرملکی کھڑے ہو کر تمہاری بھیڑبکریوں کی گلہ بانی کریں گے، پردیسی تمہارے کھیتوں اور باغوں میں کام کریں گے۔

But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

اُس وقت تم ’رب کے امام‘ کہلاؤ گے، لوگ تمہیں ’ہمارے خدا کے خادم‘ قرار دیں گے۔ تم اقوام کی دولت سے لطف اندوز ہو گے، اُن کی شان و شوکت اپنا کر اُس پر فخر کرو گے۔

For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

تمہاری شرمندگی نہیں رہے گی بلکہ تم عزت کا دُگنا حصہ پاؤ گے، تمہاری رُسوائی نہیں رہے گی بلکہ تم شاندار حصہ ملنے کے باعث شادیانہ بجاؤ گے۔ کیونکہ تمہیں وطن میں دُگنا حصہ ملے گا، اور ابدی خوشی تمہاری میراث ہو گی۔

For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

کیونکہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”مجھے انصاف پسند ہے۔ مَیں غارت گری اور کج رَوی سے نفرت رکھتا ہوں۔ مَیں اپنے لوگوں کو وفاداری سے اُن کا اجر دوں گا، مَیں اُن کے ساتھ ابدی عہد باندھوں گا۔

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

اُن کی نسل اقوام میں اور اُن کی اولاد دیگر اُمّتوں میں مشہور ہو گی۔ جو بھی اُنہیں دیکھے وہ جان لے گا کہ رب نے اُنہیں برکت دی ہے۔“

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

مَیں رب سے نہایت ہی شادمان ہوں، میری جان اپنے خدا کی تعریف میں خوشی کے گیت گاتی ہے۔ کیونکہ جس طرح دُولھا اپنا سر امام کی سی پگڑی سے سجاتا اور دُلھن اپنے آپ کو اپنے زیورات سے آراستہ کرتی ہے اُسی طرح اللہ نے مجھے نجات کا لباس پہنا کر راستی کی چادر میں لپیٹا ہے۔

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

کیونکہ جس طرح زمین اپنی ہریالی کو نکلنے دیتی اور باغ اپنے بیجوں کو پھوٹنے دیتا ہے اُسی طرح رب قادرِ مطلق اقوام کے سامنے اپنی راستی اور ستائش پھوٹنے دے گا۔
