Ezekiel 24

Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

یہویاکین بادشاہ کی جلاوطنی کے نویں سال میں رب کا کلام مجھ پر نازل ہوا۔ دسویں مہینے کا دسواں دن تھا۔ پیغام یہ تھا،

Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.

”اے آدم زاد، اِسی دن کی تاریخ لکھ لے، کیونکہ اِسی دن شاہِ بابل یروشلم کا محاصرہ کرنے لگا ہے۔

And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

پھر اِس سرکش قوم اسرائیل کو تمثیل پیش کر کے بتا، ’رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ آگ پر دیگ رکھ کر اُس میں پانی ڈال دے۔

Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

پھر اُسے بہترین گوشت سے بھر دے۔ ران اور شانے کے ٹکڑے، نیز بہترین ہڈیاں اُس میں ڈال دے۔

Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.

صرف بہترین بھیڑوں کا گوشت استعمال کر۔ دھیان دے کہ دیگ کے نیچے آگ زور سے بھڑکتی رہے۔ گوشت کو ہڈیوں سمیت خوب پکنے دے۔

Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.

رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ یروشلم پر افسوس جس میں اِتنا خون بہایا گیا ہے! یہ شہر دیگ ہے جس میں زنگ لگا ہے، ایسا زنگ جو اُترتا نہیں۔ اب گوشت کے ٹکڑوں کو یکے بعد دیگرے دیگ سے نکال دے۔ اُنہیں کسی ترتیب سے مت نکالنا بلکہ قرعہ ڈالے بغیر نکال دے۔

For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;

جو خون یروشلم نے بہایا وہ اب تک اُس میں موجود ہے۔ کیونکہ وہ مٹی پر نہ گرا جو اُسے جذب کر سکتی بلکہ ننگی چٹان پر۔

That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.

مَیں نے خود یہ خون ننگی چٹان پر بہنے دیا تاکہ وہ چھپ نہ جائے بلکہ میرا غضب یروشلم پر نازل ہو جائے اور مَیں بدلہ لوں۔

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ یروشلم پر افسوس جس نے اِتنا خون بہایا ہے! مَیں بھی تیرے نیچے لکڑی کا بڑا ڈھیر لگاؤں گا۔

Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.

آ، لکڑی کا بڑا ڈھیر کر کے آگ لگا دے۔ گوشت کو خوب پکا، پھر شوربہ نکال کر ہڈیوں کو بھسم ہونے دے۔

Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

اِس کے بعد خالی دیگ کو جلتے کوئلوں پر رکھ دے تاکہ پیتل گرم ہو کر تمتمانے لگے اور دیگ میں مَیل پگھل جائے، اُس کا زنگ اُتر جائے۔

She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.

لیکن بےفائدہ! اِتنا زنگ لگا ہے کہ وہ آگ میں بھی نہیں اُترتا۔

In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

اے یروشلم، اپنی بےحیا حرکتوں سے تُو نے اپنے آپ کو ناپاک کر دیا ہے۔ اگرچہ مَیں خود تجھے پاک صاف کرنا چاہتا تھا توبھی تُو پاک صاف نہ ہوئی۔ اب تُو اُس وقت تک پاک نہیں ہو گی جب تک مَیں اپنا پورا غصہ تجھ پر اُتار نہ لوں۔

I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.

میرے رب کا یہ فرمان پورا ہونے والا ہے، اور مَیں دھیان سے اُسے عمل میں لاؤں گا۔ نہ مَیں تجھ پر ترس کھاؤں گا، نہ رحم کروں گا۔ مَیں تیرے چال چلن اور اعمال کے مطابق تیری عدالت کروں گا۔‘ یہ رب قادرِ مطلق کا فرمان ہے۔“

Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

رب مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا،

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

”اے آدم زاد، مَیں تجھ سے اچانک تیری آنکھ کا تارا چھین لوں گا۔ لیکن لازم ہے کہ تُو نہ آہ و زاری کرے، نہ آنسو بہائے۔

Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.

بےشک چپکے سے کراہتا رہ، لیکن اپنی عزیزہ کے لئے علانیہ ماتم نہ کر۔ نہ سر سے پگڑی اُتار اور نہ پاؤں سے جوتے۔ نہ داڑھی کو ڈھانپنا، نہ جنازے کا کھانا کھا۔“

So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

صبح کو مَیں نے قوم کو یہ پیغام سنایا، اور شام کو میری بیوی انتقال کر گئی۔ اگلی صبح مَیں نے وہ کچھ کیا جو رب نے مجھے کرنے کو کہا تھا۔

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?

یہ دیکھ کر لوگوں نے مجھ سے پوچھا، ”آپ کے رویے کا ہمارے ساتھ کیا تعلق ہے؟ ذرا ہمیں بتائیں۔“

Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

مَیں نے جواب دیا، ”رب نے مجھے

Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

آپ اسرائیلیوں کو یہ پیغام سنانے کو کہا، ’رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے کہ میرا گھر تمہارے نزدیک پناہ گاہ ہے جس پر تم فخر کرتے ہو۔ لیکن یہ مقدِس جو تمہاری آنکھ کا تارا اور جان کا پیارا ہے تباہ ہونے والا ہے۔ مَیں اُس کی بےحرمتی کرنے کو ہوں۔ اور تمہارے جتنے بیٹے بیٹیاں یروشلم میں پیچھے رہ گئے تھے وہ سب تلوار کی زد میں آ کر مر جائیں گے۔

And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

تب تم وہ کچھ کرو گے جو حزقی ایل اِس وقت کر رہا ہے۔ نہ تم اپنی داڑھیوں کو ڈھانپو گے، نہ جنازے کا کھانا کھاؤ گے۔

And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.

نہ تم سر سے پگڑی، نہ پاؤں سے جوتے اُتارو گے۔ تمہارے ہاں نہ ماتم کا شور، نہ رونے کی آواز سنائی دے گی بلکہ تم اپنے گناہوں کے سبب سے ضائع ہوتے جاؤ گے۔ تم چپکے سے ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ بیٹھ کر کراہتے رہو گے۔

Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

حزقی ایل تمہارے لئے نشان ہے۔ جو کچھ وہ اِس وقت کر رہا ہے وہ تم بھی کرو گے۔ تب تم جان لو گے کہ مَیں رب قادرِ مطلق ہوں‘۔“

Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,

رب مزید مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ”اے آدم زاد، یہ گھر اسرائیلیوں کے نزدیک پناہ گاہ ہے جس کے بارے میں وہ خاص خوشی محسوس کرتے ہیں، جس پر وہ فخر کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن مَیں یہ مقدِس جو اُن کی آنکھ کا تارا اور جان کا پیارا ہے اُن سے چھین لوں گا اور ساتھ ساتھ اُن کے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو بھی۔ جس دن یہ پیش آئے گا

That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?

اُس دن ایک آدمی بچ کر تجھے اِس کی خبر پہنچائے گا۔

In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

اُسی وقت تُو دوبارہ بول سکے گا۔ تُو گونگا نہیں رہے گا بلکہ اُس سے باتیں کرنے لگے گا۔ یوں تُو اسرائیلیوں کے لئے نشان ہو گا۔ تب وہ جان لیں گے کہ مَیں ہی رب ہوں۔“
