Daniel 10

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

فارس کے بادشاہ خورس کی حکومت کے تیسرے سال میں بیل طَشَضَر یعنی دانیال پر ایک بات ظاہر ہوئی جو یقینی ہے اور جس کا تعلق ایک بڑی مصیبت سے ہے۔ اُسے رویا میں اِس پیغام کی سمجھ حاصل ہوئی۔

In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

اُن دنوں میں مَیں، دانیال تین پورے ہفتے ماتم کر رہا تھا۔

I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

نہ مَیں نے عمدہ کھانا کھایا، نہ گوشت یا مَے میرے ہونٹوں تک پہنچی۔ تین پورے ہفتے مَیں نے ہر خوشبودار تیل سے پرہیز کیا۔

And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;

پہلے مہینے کے 24ویں دن مَیں بڑے دریا دِجلہ کے کنارے پر کھڑا تھا۔

Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

مَیں نے نگاہ اُٹھائی تو کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ میرے سامنے کتان سے ملبّس آدمی کھڑا ہے جس کی کمر میں خالص سونے کا پٹکا بندھا ہوا ہے۔

His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

اُس کا جسم پکھراج جیسا تھا، اُس کا چہرہ آسمانی بجلی کی طرح چمک رہا تھا، اور اُس کی آنکھیں بھڑکتی مشعلوں کی مانند تھیں۔ اُس کے بازو اور پاؤں پالش کئے ہوئے پیتل کی طرح دمک رہے تھے۔ بولتے وقت یوں لگ رہا تھا کہ بڑا ہجوم شور مچا رہا ہے۔

And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

صرف مَیں، دانیال نے یہ رویا دیکھی۔ میرے ساتھیوں نے اُسے نہ دیکھا۔ توبھی اچانک اُن پر اِتنی دہشت طاری ہوئی کہ وہ بھاگ کر چھپ گئے۔

Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

چنانچہ مَیں اکیلا ہی رہ گیا۔ لیکن یہ عظیم رویا دیکھ کر میری ساری طاقت جاتی رہی۔ میرے چہرے کا رنگ ماند پڑ گیا اور مَیں بےبس ہوا۔

Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

پھر وہ بولنے لگا۔ اُسے سنتے ہی مَیں منہ کے بل گر کر مدہوش حالت میں زمین پر پڑا رہا۔

And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

تب ایک ہاتھ نے مجھے چھو کر ہلایا۔ اُس کی مدد سے مَیں اپنے ہاتھوں اور گھٹنوں کے بل ہو سکا۔

And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

وہ آدمی بولا، ”اے دانیال، تُو اللہ کے نزدیک بہت گراں قدر ہے! جو باتیں مَیں تجھ سے کروں گا اُن پر غور کر۔ کھڑا ہو جا، کیونکہ اِس وقت مجھے تیرے ہی پاس بھیجا گیا ہے۔“ تب مَیں تھرتھراتے ہوئے کھڑا ہو گیا۔

Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

اُس نے اپنی بات جاری رکھی، ”اے دانیال، مت ڈرنا! جب سے تُو نے سمجھ حاصل کرنے اور اپنے خدا کے سامنے جھکنے کا پورا ارادہ کر رکھا ہے، اُسی دن سے تیری سنی گئی ہے۔ مَیں تیری دعاؤں کے جواب میں آ گیا ہوں۔

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

لیکن فارسی بادشاہی کا سردار 21 دن تک میرے راستے میں کھڑا رہا۔ پھر میکائیل جو اللہ کے سردار فرشتوں میں سے ایک ہے میری مدد کرنے آیا، اور میری جان فارسی بادشاہی کے اُس سردار کے ساتھ لڑنے سے چھوٹ گئی۔

Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

مَیں تجھے وہ کچھ سنانے کو آیا ہوں جو آخری دنوں میں تیری قوم کو پیش آئے گا۔ کیونکہ رویا کا تعلق آنے والے وقت سے ہے۔“

And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

جب وہ میرے ساتھ یہ باتیں کر رہا تھا تو مَیں خاموشی سے نیچے زمین کی طرف دیکھتا رہا۔

And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

پھر جو آدمی سا لگ رہا تھا اُس نے میرے ہونٹوں کو چھو دیا، اور مَیں منہ کھول کر بولنے لگا۔ مَیں نے اپنے سامنے کھڑے فرشتے سے کہا، ”اے میرے آقا، یہ رویا دیکھ کر مَیں دردِ زہ میں مبتلا عورت کی طرح پیچ و تاب کھانے لگا ہوں۔ میری طاقت جاتی رہی ہے۔

For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

اے میرے آقا، آپ کا خادم کس طرح آپ سے بات کر سکتا ہے؟ میری طاقت تو جواب دے گئی ہے، سانس لینا بھی مشکل ہو گیا ہے۔“

Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

جو آدمی سا لگ رہا تھا اُس نے مجھے ایک بار پھر چھو کر تقویت دی

And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

اور بولا، ”اے تُو جو اللہ کی نظر میں گراں قدر ہے، مت ڈرنا! تیری سلامتی ہو۔ حوصلہ رکھ، مضبوط ہو جا!“ جوں ہی اُس نے مجھ سے بات کی مجھے تقویت ملی، اور مَیں بولا، ”اب میرے آقا بات کریں، کیونکہ آپ نے مجھے تقویت دی ہے۔“

Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.

اُس نے کہا، ”کیا تُو میرے آنے کا مقصد جانتا ہے؟ جلد ہی مَیں دوبارہ فارس کے سردار سے لڑنے چلا جاؤں گا۔ اور اُس سے نپٹنے کے بعد یونان کا سردار آئے گا۔

But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

لیکن پہلے مَیں تیرے سامنے وہ کچھ بیان کرتا ہوں جو ’سچائی کی کتاب‘ میں لکھا ہے۔ (اِن سرداروں سے لڑنے میں میری مدد کوئی نہیں کرتا سوائے تمہارے سردار فرشتے میکائیل کے۔
