II Kings 9

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth–gilead:

ایک دن الیشع نبی نے نبیوں کے گروہ میں سے ایک کو بُلا کر کہا، ”سفر کے لئے کمربستہ ہو کر رامات جِلعاد کے لئے روانہ ہو جائیں۔ زیتون کے تیل کی یہ کُپّی اپنے ساتھ لے جائیں۔

And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

وہاں پہنچ کر یاہو بن یہوسفط بن نِمسی کو تلاش کریں۔ جب اُس سے ملاقات ہو تو اُسے اُس کے ساتھیوں سے الگ کر کے کسی اندرونی کمرے میں لے جائیں۔

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

وہاں کُپّی لے کر یاہو کے سر پر تیل اُنڈیل دیں اور کہیں، ’رب فرماتا ہے کہ مَیں تجھے تیل سے مسح کر کے اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیتا ہوں۔‘ اِس کے بعد دیر نہ کریں بلکہ فوراً دروازے کو کھول کر بھاگ جائیں!“

So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth–gilead.

چنانچہ جوان نبی رامات جِلعاد کے لئے روانہ ہوا۔

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

جب وہاں پہنچا تو فوجی افسر مل کر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے۔ وہ اُن کے قریب گیا اور بولا، ”میرے پاس کمانڈر کے لئے پیغام ہے۔“ یاہو نے سوال کیا، ”ہم میں سے کس کے لئے؟“ نبی نے جواب دیا، ”آپ ہی کے لئے۔“

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

یاہو کھڑا ہوا اور اُس کے ساتھ گھر میں گیا۔ وہاں نبی نے یاہو کے سر پر تیل اُنڈیل کر کہا، ”رب اسرائیل کا خدا فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں نے تجھے مسح کر کے اپنی قوم کا بادشاہ بنا دیا ہے۔

And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

تجھے اپنے مالک اخی اب کے پورے خاندان کو ہلاک کرنا ہے۔ یوں مَیں اُن نبیوں کا انتقام لوں گا جو میری خدمت کرتے ہوئے شہید ہو گئے ہیں۔ ہاں، مَیں رب کے اُن تمام خادموں کا بدلہ لوں گا جنہیں ایزبل نے قتل کیا ہے۔

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

اخی اب کا پورا گھرانا تباہ ہو جائے گا۔ مَیں اُس کے خاندان کے ہر مرد کو ہلاک کر دوں گا، خواہ وہ بالغ ہو یا بچہ۔

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

میرا اخی اب کے خاندان کے ساتھ وہی سلوک ہو گا جو مَیں نے یرُبعام بن نباط اور بعشا بن اخیاہ کے خاندانوں کے ساتھ کیا۔

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

جہاں تک ایزبل کا تعلق ہے اُسے دفنایا نہیں جائے گا بلکہ کُتے اُسے یزرعیل کی زمین پر کھا جائیں گے‘۔“ یہ کہہ کر نبی دروازہ کھول کر بھاگ گیا۔

Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

جب یاہو نکل کر اپنے ساتھی افسروں کے پاس واپس آیا تو اُنہوں نے پوچھا، ”کیا سب خیریت ہے؟ یہ دیوانہ آپ سے کیا چاہتا تھا؟“ یاہو بولا، ”خیر، آپ تو اِس قسم کے لوگوں کو جانتے ہیں کہ کس طرح کی گپیں ہانکتے ہیں۔“

And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

لیکن اُس کے ساتھی اِس جواب سے مطمئن نہ ہوئے، ”جھوٹ! صحیح بات بتائیں۔“ پھر یاہو نے اُنہیں کھل کر بات بتائی، ”آدمی نے کہا، ’رب فرماتا ہے کہ مَیں نے تجھے مسح کر کے اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیا ہے‘۔“

Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

یہ سن کر افسروں نے جلدی جلدی اپنی چادروں کو اُتار کر اُس کے سامنے سیڑھیوں پر بچھا دیا۔ پھر وہ نرسنگا بجا بجا کر نعرہ لگانے لگے، ”یاہو بادشاہ زندہ باد!“

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth–gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

یاہو بن یہوسفط بن نِمسی فوراً یورام بادشاہ کو تخت سے اُتارنے کے منصوبے باندھنے لگا۔ یورام اُس وقت پوری اسرائیلی فوج سمیت رامات جِلعاد کے قریب دمشق کے بادشاہ حزائیل سے لڑ رہا تھا۔ لیکن شہر کا دفاع کرتے کرتے

But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.

بادشاہ شام کے فوجیوں کے ہاتھوں زخمی ہو گیا تھا اور میدانِ جنگ کو چھوڑ کر یزرعیل واپس آیا تھا تاکہ زخم بھر جائیں۔ اب یاہو نے اپنے ساتھی افسروں سے کہا، ”اگر آپ واقعی میرے ساتھ ہیں تو کسی کو بھی شہر سے نکلنے نہ دیں، ورنہ خطرہ ہے کہ کوئی یزرعیل جا کر بادشاہ کو اطلاع دے دے۔“

So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.

پھر وہ رتھ پر سوار ہو کر یزرعیل چلا گیا جہاں یورام آرام کر رہا تھا۔ اُس وقت یہوداہ کا بادشاہ اخزیاہ بھی یورام سے ملنے کے لئے یزرعیل آیا ہوا تھا۔

And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

جب یزرعیل کے بُرج پر کھڑے پہرے دار نے یاہو کے غول کو شہر کی طرف آتے ہوئے دیکھا تو اُس نے بادشاہ کو اطلاع دی۔ یورام نے حکم دیا، ”ایک گھڑسوار کو اُن کی طرف بھیج کر اُن سے معلوم کریں کہ سب خیریت ہے یا نہیں۔“

So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

گھڑسوار شہر سے نکلا اور یاہو کے پاس آ کر کہا، ”بادشاہ پوچھتے ہیں کہ کیا سب خیریت ہے؟“ یاہو نے جواب دیا، ”اِس سے آپ کا کیا واسطہ؟ آئیں، میرے پیچھے ہو لیں۔“ بُرج پر کے پہرے دار نے بادشاہ کو اطلاع دی، ”قاصد اُن تک پہنچ گیا ہے، لیکن وہ واپس نہیں آ رہا۔“

Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

تب بادشاہ نے ایک اَور گھڑسوار کو بھیج دیا۔ یاہو کے پاس پہنچ کر اُس نے بھی کہا، ”بادشاہ پوچھتے ہیں کہ کیا سب خیریت ہے؟“ یاہو نے جواب دیا، ”اِس سے آپ کا کیا واسطہ؟ میرے پیچھے ہو لیں۔“

And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

بُرج پر کے پہرے دار نے یہ دیکھ کر بادشاہ کو اطلاع دی، ”ہمارا قاصد اُن تک پہنچ گیا ہے، لیکن یہ بھی واپس نہیں آ رہا۔ ایسا لگتا ہے کہ اُن کا راہنما یاہو بن نِمسی ہے، کیونکہ وہ اپنے رتھ کو دیوانے کی طرح چلا رہا ہے۔“

And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

یورام نے حکم دیا، ”میرے رتھ کو تیار کرو!“ پھر وہ اور یہوداہ کا بادشاہ اپنے اپنے رتھ میں سوار ہو کر یاہو سے ملنے کے لئے شہر سے نکلے۔ اُن کی ملاقات اُس باغ کے پاس ہوئی جو نبوت یزرعیلی سے چھین لیا گیا تھا۔

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

یاہو کو پہچان کر یورام نے پوچھا، ”یاہو، کیا سب خیریت ہے؟“ یاہو بولا، ”خیریت کیسے ہو سکتی ہے جب تیری ماں ایزبل کی بُت پرستی اور جادوگری ہر طرف پھیلی ہوئی ہے؟“

And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

یورام بادشاہ چلّا اُٹھا، ”اے اخزیاہ، غداری!“ اور مُڑ کر بھاگنے لگا۔

And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

یاہو نے فوراً اپنی کمان کھینچ کر تیر چلایا جو سیدھا یورام کے کندھوں کے درمیان یوں لگا کہ دل میں سے گزر گیا۔ بادشاہ ایک دم اپنے رتھ میں گر پڑا۔

Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

یاہو نے اپنے ساتھ والے افسر بِدقر سے کہا، ”اِس کی لاش اُٹھا کر اُس باغ میں پھینک دیں جو نبوت یزرعیلی سے چھین لیا گیا تھا۔ کیونکہ وہ دن یاد کریں جب ہم دونوں اپنے رتھوں کو اِس کے باپ اخی اب کے پیچھے چلا رہے تھے اور رب نے اخی اب کے بارے میں اعلان کیا،

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

’یقین جان کہ کل نبوت اور اُس کے بیٹوں کا قتل مجھ سے چھپا نہ رہا۔ اِس کا معاوضہ مَیں تجھے نبوت کی اِسی زمین پر دوں گا۔‘ چنانچہ اب یورام کو اُٹھا کر اُس زمین پر پھینک دیں تاکہ رب کی بات پوری ہو جائے۔“

But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

جب یہوداہ کے بادشاہ اخزیاہ نے یہ دیکھا تو وہ بیت گان کا راستہ لے کر فرار ہو گیا۔ یاہو اُس کا تعاقب کرتے ہوئے چلّایا، ”اُسے بھی مار دو!“ اِبلیعام کے قریب جہاں راستہ جور کی طرف چڑھتا ہے اخزیاہ اپنے رتھ میں چلتے چلتے زخمی ہوا۔ وہ بچ تو نکلا لیکن مجِدّو پہنچ کر مر گیا۔

And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

اُس کے ملازم لاش کو رتھ پر رکھ کر یروشلم لائے۔ وہاں اُسے یروشلم کے اُس حصے میں جو ’داؤد کا شہر‘ کہلاتا ہے خاندانی قبر میں دفنایا گیا۔

And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

اخزیاہ یورام بن اخی اب کی حکومت کے 11ویں سال میں یہوداہ کا بادشاہ بن گیا تھا۔

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

اِس کے بعد یاہو یزرعیل چلا گیا۔ جب ایزبل کو اطلاع ملی تو اُس نے اپنی آنکھوں میں سُرمہ لگا کر اپنے بالوں کو خوب صورتی سے سنوارا اور پھر کھڑکی سے باہر جھانکنے لگی۔

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

جب یاہو محل کے گیٹ میں داخل ہوا تو ایزبل چلّائی، ”اے زِمری جس نے اپنے مالک کو قتل کر دیا ہے، کیا سب خیریت ہے؟“

And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

یاہو نے اوپر دیکھ کر آواز دی، ”کون میرے ساتھ ہے، کون؟“ دو یا تین خواجہ سراؤں نے کھڑکی سے باہر دیکھ کر اُس پر نظر ڈالی

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

تو یاہو نے اُنہیں حکم دیا، ”اُسے نیچے پھینک دو!“ تب اُنہوں نے ملکہ کو نیچے پھینک دیا۔ وہ اِتنے زور سے زمین پر گری کہ خون کے چھینٹے دیوار اور گھوڑوں پر پڑ گئے۔ یاہو اور اُس کے لوگوں نے اپنے رتھوں کو اُس کے اوپر سے گزرنے دیا۔

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.

پھر یاہو محل میں داخل ہوا اور کھایا اور پیا۔ اِس کے بعد اُس نے حکم دیا، ”کوئی جائے اور اُس لعنتی عورت کو دفن کرے، کیونکہ وہ بادشاہ کی بیٹی تھی۔“

And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

لیکن جب ملازم اُسے دفن کرنے کے لئے باہر نکلے تو دیکھا کہ صرف اُس کی کھوپڑی، ہاتھ اور پاؤں باقی رہ گئے ہیں۔

Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

یاہو کے پاس واپس جا کر اُنہوں نے اُسے آگاہ کیا۔ تب اُس نے کہا، ”اب سب کچھ پورا ہوا ہے جو رب نے اپنے خادم الیاس تِشبی کی معرفت فرمایا تھا، ’یزرعیل کی زمین پر کُتے ایزبل کی لاش کھا جائیں گے۔

And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

اُس کی لاش یزرعیل کی زمین پر گوبر کی طرح پڑی رہے گی تاکہ کوئی یقین سے نہ کہہ سکے کہ وہ کہاں ہے‘۔“
