II Chronicles 33

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:

منسّی 12 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا، اور یروشلم میں اُس کی حکومت کا دورانیہ 55 سال تھا۔

But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

منسّی کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ اُس نے اُن قوموں کے قابلِ گھن رسم و رواج اپنا لئے جنہیں رب نے اسرائیلیوں کے آگے سے نکال دیا تھا۔

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

اونچی جگہوں کے جن مندروں کو اُس کے باپ حِزقیاہ نے ڈھا دیا تھا اُنہیں اُس نے نئے سرے سے تعمیر کیا۔ اُس نے بعل دیوتاؤں کی قربان گاہیں بنوائیں اور یسیرت دیوی کے کھمبے کھڑے کئے۔ اِن کے علاوہ وہ سورج، چاند بلکہ آسمان کے پورے لشکر کو سجدہ کر کے اُن کی خدمت کرتا تھا۔

Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

اُس نے رب کے گھر میں بھی اپنی قربان گاہیں کھڑی کیں، حالانکہ رب نے اِس مقام کے بارے میں فرمایا تھا، ”یروشلم میں میرا نام ابد تک قائم رہے گا۔“

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

لیکن منسّی نے پروا نہ کی بلکہ رب کے گھر کے دونوں صحنوں میں آسمان کے پورے لشکر کے لئے قربان گاہیں بنوائیں۔

And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

یہاں تک کہ اُس نے وادیِ بن ہنوم میں اپنے بیٹوں کو بھی قربان کر کے جلا دیا۔ جادوگری، غیب دانی اور افسوں گری کرنے کے علاوہ وہ مُردوں کی روحوں سے رابطہ کرنے والوں اور رمّالوں سے بھی مشورہ کرتا تھا۔ غرض اُس نے بہت کچھ کیا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا اور اُسے طیش دلایا۔

And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

دیوی کا بُت بنوا کر اُس نے اُسے اللہ کے گھر میں کھڑا کیا، حالانکہ رب نے داؤد اور اُس کے بیٹے سلیمان سے کہا تھا، ”اِس گھر اور اِس شہر یروشلم میں جو مَیں نے تمام اسرائیلی قبیلوں میں سے چن لیا ہے مَیں اپنا نام ابد تک قائم رکھوں گا۔

Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.

اگر اسرائیلی احتیاط سے میرے اُن تمام احکام اور ہدایات کی پیروی کریں جو موسیٰ نے شریعت میں اُنہیں دیئے تو مَیں کبھی نہیں ہونے دوں گا کہ اسرائیلیوں کو اُس ملک سے جلاوطن کر دیا جائے جو مَیں نے اُن کے باپ دادا کو عطا کیا تھا۔“

So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

لیکن منسّی نے یہوداہ اور یروشلم کے باشندوں کو ایسے غلط کام کرنے پر اُکسایا جو اُن قوموں سے بھی سرزد نہیں ہوئے تھے جنہیں رب نے ملک میں داخل ہوتے وقت اُن کے آگے سے تباہ کر دیا تھا۔

And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.

گو رب نے منسّی اور اپنی قوم کو سمجھایا، لیکن اُنہوں نے پروا نہ کی۔

Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

تب رب نے اسوری بادشاہ کے کمانڈروں کو یہوداہ پر حملہ کرنے دیا۔ اُنہوں نے منسّی کو پکڑ کر اُس کی ناک میں نکیل ڈالی اور اُسے پیتل کی زنجیروں میں جکڑ کر بابل لے گئے۔

And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

جب وہ یوں مصیبت میں پھنس گیا تو منسّی رب اپنے خدا کا غضب ٹھنڈا کرنے کی کوشش کرنے لگا اور اپنے آپ کو اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کے حضور پست کر دیا۔

And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

اور رب نے اُس کی التماس پر دھیان دے کر اُس کی سنی۔ اُسے یروشلم واپس لا کر اُس نے اُس کی حکومت بحال کر دی۔ تب منسّی نے جان لیا کہ رب ہی خدا ہے۔

Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.

اِس کے بعد اُس نے ’داؤد کے شہر‘ کی بیرونی فصیل نئے سرے سے بنوائی۔ یہ فصیل جیحون چشمے کے مغرب سے شروع ہوئی اور وادیِ قدرون میں سے گزر کر مچھلی کے دروازے تک پہنچ گئی۔ اِس دیوار نے رب کے گھر کی پوری پہاڑی بنام عوفل کا احاطہ کر لیا اور بہت بلند تھی۔ اِس کے علاوہ بادشاہ نے یہوداہ کے تمام قلعہ بند شہروں پر فوجی افسر مقرر کئے۔

And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

اُس نے اجنبی معبودوں کو بُت سمیت رب کے گھر سے نکال دیا۔ جو قربان گاہیں اُس نے رب کے گھر کی پہاڑی اور باقی یروشلم میں کھڑی کی تھیں اُنہیں بھی اُس نے ڈھا کر شہر سے باہر پھینک دیا۔

And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.

پھر اُس نے رب کی قربان گاہ کو نئے سرے سے تعمیر کر کے اُس پر سلامتی اور شکرگزاری کی قربانیاں چڑھائیں۔ ساتھ ساتھ اُس نے یہوداہ کے باشندوں سے کہا کہ رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی خدمت کریں۔

Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.

گو لوگ اِس کے بعد بھی اونچی جگہوں پر اپنی قربانیاں پیش کرتے تھے، لیکن اب سے وہ اِنہیں صرف رب اپنے خدا کو پیش کرتے تھے۔

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.

باقی جو کچھ منسّی کی حکومت کے دوران ہوا وہ ’شاہانِ اسرائیل کی تاریخ‘ کی کتاب میں درج ہے۔ وہاں اُس کی اپنے خدا سے دعا بھی بیان کی گئی ہے اور وہ باتیں بھی جو غیب بینوں نے رب اسرائیل کے خدا کے نام میں اُسے بتائی تھیں۔

His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

غیب بینوں کی کتاب میں بھی منسّی کی دعا بیان کی گئی ہے اور یہ کہ اللہ نے کس طرح اُس کی سنی۔ وہاں اُس کے تمام گناہوں اور بےوفائی کا ذکر ہے، نیز اُن اونچی جگہوں کی فہرست درج ہے جہاں اُس نے اللہ کے تابع ہو جانے سے پہلے مندر بنا کر یسیرت دیوی کے کھمبے اور بُت کھڑے کئے تھے۔

So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

جب منسّی مر کر اپنے باپ دادا سے جا ملا تو اُسے اُس کے محل میں دفن کیا گیا۔ پھر اُس کا بیٹا امون تخت نشین ہوا۔

Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.

امون 22 سال کی عمر میں بادشاہ بنا اور دو سال تک یروشلم میں حکومت کرتا رہا۔

But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;

اپنے باپ منسّی کی طرح وہ ایسا غلط کام کرتا رہا جو رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ جو بُت اُس کے باپ نے بنوائے تھے اُن ہی کی پوجا وہ کرتا اور اُن ہی کو قربانیاں پیش کرتا تھا۔

And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

لیکن اُس میں اور منسّی میں یہ فرق تھا کہ بیٹے نے اپنے آپ کو رب کے سامنے پست نہ کیا بلکہ اُس کا قصور مزید سنگین ہوتا گیا۔

And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.

ایک دن امون کے کچھ افسروں نے اُس کے خلاف سازش کر کے اُسے محل میں قتل کر دیا۔

But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

لیکن اُمّت نے تمام سازش کرنے والوں کو مار ڈالا اور امون کی جگہ اُس کے بیٹے یوسیاہ کو بادشاہ بنا دیا۔
