II Chronicles 30

And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.

حِزقیاہ نے اسرائیل اور یہوداہ کی ہر جگہ اپنے قاصدوں کو بھیج کر لوگوں کو رب کے گھر میں آنے کی دعوت دی، کیونکہ وہ اُن کے ساتھ رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی تعظیم میں فسح کی عید منانا چاہتا تھا۔ اُس نے افرائیم اور منسّی کے قبیلوں کو بھی دعوت نامے بھیجے۔

For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

بادشاہ نے اپنے افسروں اور یروشلم کی پوری جماعت کے ساتھ مل کر فیصلہ کیا کہ ہم یہ عید دوسرے مہینے میں منائیں گے۔

For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

عام طور پر یہ پہلے مہینے میں منائی جاتی تھی، لیکن اُس وقت تک خدمت کے لئے تیار امام کافی نہیں تھے۔ کیونکہ اب تک سب اپنے آپ کو پاک صاف نہ کر سکے۔ دوسری بات یہ تھی کہ لوگ اِتنی جلدی سے یروشلم میں جمع نہ ہو سکے۔

And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

اِن باتوں کے پیشِ نظر بادشاہ اور تمام حاضرین اِس پر متفق ہوئے کہ فسح کی عید ملتوی کی جائے۔

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer–sheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.

اُنہوں نے فیصلہ کیا کہ ہم تمام اسرائیلیوں کو جنوب میں بیرسبع سے لے کر شمال میں دان تک دعوت دیں گے۔ سب یروشلم آئیں تاکہ ہم مل کر رب اسرائیل کے خدا کی تعظیم میں فسح کی عید منائیں۔ اصل میں یہ عید بڑی دیر سے ہدایات کے مطابق نہیں منائی گئی تھی۔

So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

بادشاہ کے حکم پر قاصد اسرائیل اور یہوداہ میں سے گزرے۔ ہر جگہ اُنہوں نے لوگوں کو بادشاہ اور اُس کے افسروں کے خط پہنچا دیئے۔ خط میں لکھا تھا، ”اے اسرائیلیو، رب ابراہیم، اسحاق اور اسرائیل کے خدا کے پاس واپس آئیں! پھر وہ بھی آپ کے پاس جو اسوری بادشاہوں کے ہاتھ سے بچ نکلے ہیں واپس آئے گا۔

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

اپنے باپ دادا اور بھائیوں کی طرح نہ بنیں جو رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا سے بےوفا ہو گئے تھے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ اُس نے اُنہیں ایسی حالت میں چھوڑ دیا کہ جس نے بھی اُنہیں دیکھا اُس کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ آپ خود اِس کے گواہ ہیں۔

Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

اُن کی طرح اَڑے نہ رہیں بلکہ رب کے تابع ہو جائیں۔ اُس کے مقدِس میں آئیں، جو اُس نے ہمیشہ کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس کر دیا ہے۔ رب اپنے خدا کی خدمت کریں تاکہ آپ اُس کے سخت غضب کا نشانہ نہ رہیں۔

For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

اگر آپ رب کے پاس لوٹ آئیں تو جنہوں نے آپ کے بھائیوں اور اُن کے بال بچوں کو قید کر لیا ہے وہ اُن پر رحم کر کے اُنہیں اِس ملک میں واپس آنے دیں گے۔ کیونکہ رب آپ کا خدا مہربان اور رحیم ہے۔ اگر آپ اُس کے پاس واپس آئیں تو وہ اپنا منہ آپ سے نہیں پھیرے گا۔“

So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

قاصد افرائیم اور منسّی کے پورے قبائلی علاقے میں سے گزرے اور ہر شہر کو یہ پیغام پہنچایا۔ پھر چلتے چلتے وہ زبولون تک پہنچ گئے۔ لیکن اکثر لوگ اُن کی بات سن کر ہنس پڑے اور اُن کا مذاق اُڑانے لگے۔

Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

صرف آشر، منسّی اور زبولون کے چند ایک آدمی فروتنی کا اظہار کر کے مان گئے اور یروشلم آئے۔

Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

یہوداہ میں اللہ نے لوگوں کو تحریک دی کہ اُنہوں نے یک دلی سے اُس حکم پر عمل کیا جو بادشاہ اور بزرگوں نے رب کے فرمان کے مطابق دیا تھا۔

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

دوسرے مہینے میں بہت زیادہ لوگ بےخمیری روٹی کی عید منانے کے لئے یروشلم پہنچے۔

And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.

پہلے اُنہوں نے شہر سے بُتوں کی تمام قربان گاہوں کو دُور کر دیا۔ بخور جلانے کی چھوٹی قربان گاہوں کو بھی اُنہوں نے اُٹھا کر وادیِ قدرون میں پھینک دیا۔

Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.

دوسرے مہینے کے 14ویں دن فسح کے لیلوں کو ذبح کیا گیا۔ اماموں اور لاویوں نے شرمندہ ہو کر اپنے آپ کو خدمت کے لئے پاک صاف کر رکھا تھا، اور اب اُنہوں نے بھسم ہونے والی قربانیوں کو رب کے گھر میں پیش کیا۔

And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.

وہ خدمت کے لئے یوں کھڑے ہو گئے جس طرح مردِ خدا موسیٰ کی شریعت میں فرمایا گیا ہے۔ لاوی قربانیوں کا خون اماموں کے پاس لائے جنہوں نے اُسے قربان گاہ پر چھڑکا۔

For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD.

لیکن حاضرین میں سے بہت سے لوگوں نے اپنے آپ کو صحیح طور پر پاک صاف نہیں کیا تھا۔ اُن کے لئے لاویوں نے فسح کے لیلوں کو ذبح کیا تاکہ اُن کی قربانیوں کو بھی رب کے لئے مخصوص کیا جا سکے۔

For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one

خاص کر افرائیم، منسّی، زبولون اور اِشکار کے اکثر لوگوں نے اپنے آپ کو صحیح طور پر پاک صاف نہیں کیا تھا۔ چنانچہ وہ فسح کے کھانے میں اُس حالت میں شریک نہ ہوئے جس کا تقاضا شریعت کرتی ہے۔ لیکن حِزقیاہ نے اُن کی شفاعت کر کے دعا کی، ”رب جو مہربان ہے ہر ایک کو معاف کرے

That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

جو پورے دل سے رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کا طالب رہنے کا ارادہ رکھتا ہے، خواہ اُسے مقدِس کے لئے درکار پاکیزگی حاصل نہ بھی ہو۔“

And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

رب نے حِزقیاہ کی دعا سن کر لوگوں کو بحال کر دیا۔

And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.

یروشلم میں جمع شدہ اسرائیلیوں نے بڑی خوشی سے سات دن تک بےخمیری روٹی کی عید منائی۔ ہر دن لاوی اور امام اپنے ساز بجا کر بلند آواز سے رب کی ستائش کرتے رہے۔

And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.

لاویوں نے رب کی خدمت کرتے وقت بڑی سمجھ داری دکھائی، اور حِزقیاہ نے اِس میں اُن کی حوصلہ افزائی کی۔ پورے ہفتے کے دوران اسرائیلی رب کو سلامتی کی قربانیاں پیش کر کے قربانی کا اپنا حصہ کھاتے اور رب اپنے باپ دادا کے خدا کی تمجید کرتے رہے۔

And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.

اِس ہفتے کے بعد پوری جماعت نے فیصلہ کیا کہ عید کو مزید سات دن منایا جائے۔ چنانچہ اُنہوں نے خوشی سے ایک اَور ہفتے کے دوران عید منائی۔

For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

تب یہوداہ کے بادشاہ حِزقیاہ نے جماعت کے لئے 1,000 بَیل اور 7,000 بھیڑبکریاں پیش کیں جبکہ بزرگوں نے جماعت کے لئے 1,000 بَیل اور 10,000 بھیڑبکریاں چڑھائیں۔ اِتنے میں مزید بہت سے اماموں نے اپنے آپ کو رب کی خدمت کے لئے مخصوص و مُقدّس کر لیا تھا۔

And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

جتنے بھی آئے تھے خوشی منا رہے تھے، خواہ وہ یہوداہ کے باشندے تھے، خواہ امام، لاوی، اسرائیلی یا اسرائیل اور یہوداہ میں رہنے والے پردیسی مہمان۔

So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

یروشلم میں بڑی شادمانی تھی، کیونکہ ایسی عید داؤد بادشاہ کے بیٹے سلیمان کے زمانے سے لے کر اُس وقت تک یروشلم میں منائی نہیں گئی تھی۔

Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

عید کے اختتام پر اماموں اور لاویوں نے کھڑے ہو کر قوم کو برکت دی۔ اور اللہ نے اُن کی سنی، اُن کی دعا آسمان پر اُس کی مُقدّس سکونت گاہ تک پہنچی۔
