I Chronicles 28

And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.

داؤد نے اسرائیل کے تمام بزرگوں کو یروشلم بُلایا۔ اِن میں قبیلوں کے سرپرست، فوجی ڈویژنوں پر مقرر افسر، ہزار ہزار اور سَو سَو فوجیوں پر مقرر افسر، شاہی ملکیت اور ریوڑوں کے انچارج، بادشاہ کے بیٹوں کی تربیت کرنے والے افسر، درباری، ملک کے سورما اور باقی تمام صاحبِ حیثیت شامل تھے۔

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:

داؤد بادشاہ اُن کے سامنے کھڑے ہو کر اُن سے مخاطب ہوا، ”میرے بھائیو اور میری قوم، میری بات پر دھیان دیں! کافی دیر سے مَیں ایک ایسا مکان تعمیر کرنا چاہتا تھا جس میں رب کے عہد کا صندوق مستقل طور پر رکھا جا سکے۔ آخر یہ تو ہمارے خدا کی چوکی ہے۔ اِس مقصد سے مَیں تیاریاں کرنے لگا۔

But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.

لیکن پھر اللہ مجھ سے ہم کلام ہوا، ’میرے نام کے لئے مکان بنانا تیرا کام نہیں ہے، کیونکہ تُو نے جنگجو ہوتے ہوئے بہت خون بہایا ہے۔‘

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:

رب اسرائیل کے خدا نے میرے پورے خاندان میں سے مجھے چن کر ہمیشہ کے لئے اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیا، کیونکہ اُس کی مرضی تھی کہ یہوداہ کا قبیلہ حکومت کرے۔ یہوداہ کے خاندانوں میں سے اُس نے میرے باپ کے خاندان کو چن لیا، اور اِسی خاندان میں سے اُس نے مجھے پسند کر کے پورے اسرائیل کا بادشاہ بنا دیا۔

And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

رب نے مجھے بہت بیٹے عطا کئے ہیں۔ اُن میں سے اُس نے مقرر کیا کہ سلیمان میرے بعد تخت پر بیٹھ کر رب کی اُمّت پر حکومت کرے۔

And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

رب نے مجھے بتایا، ’تیرا بیٹا سلیمان ہی میرا گھر اور اُس کے صحن تعمیر کرے گا۔ کیونکہ مَیں نے اُسے چن کر فرمایا ہے کہ وہ میرا بیٹا ہو گا اور مَیں اُس کا باپ ہوں گا۔

Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.

اگر وہ آج کی طرح آئندہ بھی میرے احکام اور ہدایات پر عمل کرتا رہے تو مَیں اُس کی بادشاہی ابد تک قائم رکھوں گا۔‘

Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

اب میری ہدایت پر دھیان دیں، پورا اسرائیل یعنی رب کی جماعت اور ہمارا خدا اِس کے گواہ ہیں۔ رب اپنے خدا کے تمام احکام کے تابع رہیں! پھر آئندہ بھی یہ اچھا ملک آپ کی ملکیت اور ہمیشہ تک آپ کی اولاد کی موروثی زمین رہے گا۔

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

اے سلیمان میرے بیٹے، اپنے باپ کے خدا کو تسلیم کر کے پورے دل و جان اور خوشی سے اُس کی خدمت کریں۔ کیونکہ رب تمام دلوں کی تحقیق کر لیتا ہے، اور وہ ہمارے خیالوں کے تمام منصوبوں سے واقف ہے۔ اُس کے طالب رہیں تو آپ اُسے پا لیں گے۔ لیکن اگر آپ اُسے ترک کریں تو وہ آپ کو ہمیشہ کے لئے رد کر دے گا۔

Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

یاد رہے، رب نے آپ کو اِس لئے چن لیا ہے کہ آپ اُس کے لئے مُقدّس گھر تعمیر کریں۔ مضبوط رہ کر اِس کام میں لگے رہیں!“

Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,

پھر داؤد نے اپنے بیٹے سلیمان کو رب کے گھر کا نقشہ دے دیا جس میں تمام تفصیلات درج تھیں یعنی اُس کے برآمدے، خزانوں کے کمرے، بالاخانے، اندرونی کمرے، وہ مُقدّس ترین کمرا جس میں عہد کے صندوق کو اُس کے کفارے کے ڈھکنے سمیت رکھنا تھا،

And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:

رب کے گھر کے صحن، اُس کے ارد گرد کے کمرے اور وہ کمرے جن میں رب کے لئے مخصوص کئے گئے سامان کو محفوظ رکھنا تھا۔ داؤد نے روح کی ہدایت سے یہ پورا نقشہ تیار کیا تھا۔

Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD.

اُس نے رب کے گھر کی خدمت کے لئے درکار اماموں اور لاویوں کے گروہوں کو بھی مقرر کیا، اور ساتھ ساتھ رب کے گھر میں باقی تمام ذمہ داریاں بھی۔ اِس کے علاوہ اُس نے رب کے گھر کی خدمت کے لئے درکار تمام سامان کی فہرست بھی تیار کی تھی۔

He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:

اُس نے مقرر کیا کہ مختلف چیزوں کے لئے کتنا سونا اور کتنی چاندی استعمال کرنی ہے۔ اِن میں ذیل کی چیزیں شامل تھیں:

Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.

سونے اور چاندی کے چراغ دان اور اُن کے چراغ (مختلف چراغ دانوں کے وزن فرق تھے، کیونکہ ہر ایک کا وزن اُس کے مقصد پر منحصر تھا)،

And by weight he gave gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:

سونے کی وہ میزیں جن پر رب کے لئے مخصوص روٹیاں رکھنی تھیں، چاندی کی میزیں،

Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of silver:

خالص سونے کے کانٹے، چھڑکاؤ کے کٹورے اور صراحی، سونے چاندی کے پیالے

And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

اور بخور جلانے کی قربان گاہ پر منڈھا ہوا خالص سونا۔ داؤد نے رب کے رتھ کا نقشہ بھی سلیمان کے حوالے کر دیا، یعنی اُن کروبی فرشتوں کا نقشہ جو اپنے پَروں کو پھیلا کر رب کے عہد کے صندوق کو ڈھانپ دیتے ہیں۔

All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.

داؤد نے کہا، ”مَیں نے یہ تمام تفصیلات ویسے ہی قلم بند کر دی ہیں جیسے رب نے مجھے حکمت اور سمجھ عطا کی ہے۔“

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

پھر وہ اپنے بیٹے سلیمان سے مخاطب ہوا، ”مضبوط اور دلیر ہوں! ڈریں مت اور ہمت مت ہارنا، کیونکہ رب خدا میرا خدا آپ کے ساتھ ہے۔ نہ وہ آپ کو چھوڑے گا، نہ ترک کرے گا بلکہ رب کے گھر کی تکمیل تک آپ کی مدد کرتا رہے گا۔

And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

خدمت کے لئے مقرر اماموں اور لاویوں کے گروہ بھی آپ کا سہارا بن کر رب کے گھر میں اپنی خدمت سرانجام دیں گے۔ تعمیر کے لئے جتنے بھی ماہر کاری گروں کی ضرورت ہے وہ خدمت کے لئے تیار کھڑے ہیں۔ بزرگوں سے لے کر عام لوگوں تک سب آپ کی ہر ہدایت کی تعمیل کرنے کے لئے مستعد ہیں۔“
