Jeremiah 11

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Ο λογος, ο γενομενος προς Ιερεμιαν παρα Κυριου, λεγων,

Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

Ακουσατε τους λογους της διαθηκης ταυτης και λαλησατε προς τους ανδρας Ιουδα και προς τους κατοικους της Ιερουσαλημ

And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,

και ειπε προς αυτους, Ουτω λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος του Ισραηλ. Επικαταρατος ο ανθρωπος, οστις δεν υπακουει εις τους λογους της διαθηκης ταυτης,

Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

την οποιαν προσεταξα εις τους πατερας υμων, καθ ην ημεραν εξηγαγον αυτους εκ γης Αιγυπτου, εκ της καμινου της σιδηρας, λεγων, Ακουσατε της φωνης μου και πραττετε αυτα, κατα παντα οσα προσεταξα εις εσας και θελετε εισθαι λαος μου, και εγω θελω εισθαι Θεος υμων

That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.

δια να εκπληρωσω τον ορκον, τον οποιον ωμοσα προς τους πατερας υμων, να δωσω εις αυτους γην �εουσαν γαλα και μελι, ως εν τη ημερα ταυτη. Τοτε απεκριθην και ειπα, Αμην, Κυριε.

Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

Και ο Κυριος ειπε προς εμε, Διακηρυξον παντας τους λογους τουτους εν ταις πολεσι του Ιουδα και εν ταις οδοις της Ιερουσαλημ, λεγων, Ακουσατε τους λογους της διαθηκης ταυτης και πραττετε αυτους.

For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.

Διοτι �ητως διεμαρτυρηθην προς τους πατερας υμων, καθ ην ημεραν ανεβιβασα αυτους εκ γης Αιγυπτου μεχρι της σημερον, εγειρομενος πρωι και διαμαρτυρομενος, λεγων, Ακουσατε της φωνης μου.

Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not.

Αλλα δεν ηκουσαν και δεν εκλιναν το ωτιον αυτων, αλλα περιεπατησαν εκαστος εν ταις ορεξεσι της πονηρας αυτων καρδιας δια τουτο θελω φερει επ αυτους παντας τους λογους της διαθηκης ταυτης, την οποιαν προσεταξα να πραττωσι, αλλα δεν επραξαν.

And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Και ειπε Κυριος προς εμε, Συνωμοσια ευρεθη μεταξυ των ανδρων Ιουδα και μεταξυ των κατοικων της Ιερουσαλημ.

They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

Επεστρεψαν εις τας αδικιας των προπατορων αυτων, οιτινες δεν ηθελησαν να ακουσωσι τους λογους μου και αυτοι υπηγαν οπισω αλλων θεων, δια να λατρευωσιν αυτους ο οικος Ισραηλ και ο οικος Ιουδα ηθετησαν την διαθηκην μου, την οποιαν εκαμα προς τους πατερας αυτων.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.

Δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος Ιδου, θελω φερει επ αυτους κακον, εκ του οποιου δεν θελουσι δυνηθη να εξελθωσι και θελουσι βοησει προς εμε και δεν θελω εισακουσει αυτους.

Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

Τοτε αι πολεις του Ιουδα και οι κατοικοι της Ιερουσαλημ θελουσιν υπαγει και θελουσι βοησει προς τους θεους, εις τους οποιους θυμιαζουσι πλην δεν θελουσι σωσει εαυτους παντελως εν καιρω της ταλαιπωριας αυτων.

For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.

Διοτι κατα τον αριθμον των πολεων σου ησαν οι θεοι σου, Ιουδα και κατα τον αριθμον των οδων της Ιερουσαλημ ανηγειρατε βωμους εις τα αισχρα, βωμους δια να θυμιαζητε εις τον Βααλ.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

Δια τουτο συ μη προσευχου υπερ του λαου τουτου και μη υψωνε φωνην η δεησιν υπερ αυτων διοτι εγω δεν θελω εισακουσει, οταν κραζωσι προς εμε εν καιρω της ταλαιπωριας αυτων.

What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

Τι εχει να καμη η ηγαπημενη μου εν τω οικω μου, αφου επραξεν ασελγειαν με πολλους, και το κρεας το αγιον αφηρεθη απο σου; οταν πραττης το κακον, τοτε ευφραινεσαι.

The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

Ο Κυριος εκαλεσε το ονομα σου, Ελαιαν αειθαλη, ωραιαν, καλλικαρπον μετ ηχου θορυβου μεγαλου εξηφθη πυρ επ αυτην και οι κλαδοι αυτης συνεθλασθησαν.

For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.

Διοτι ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, οστις σε εφυτευσεν, επροφερε κακον εναντιον σου, δια την κακιαν του οικου Ισραηλ και του οικου Ιουδα, την οποιαν επραξαν καθ εαυτων, ωστε να με παροργισωσι θυμιαζοντες εις τον Βααλ.

And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.

Και ο Κυριος εδωκεν εις εμε γνωσιν και εγνωρισα τοτε εδειξας εις εμε τας πραξεις αυτων.

But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

Αλλ εγω ημην ως αρνιον ακακον φερομενον εις σφαγην και δεν ενοησα οτι συνεβουλευθησαν βουλας εναντιον μου, λεγοντες, Ας καταστρεψωμεν το δενδρον μετα του καρπου αυτου και ας εκκοψωμεν αυτον απο της γης των ζωντων, ωστε το ονομα αυτου να μη μνημονευθη πλεον.

But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

Αλλ ω Κυριε των δυναμεων, ο κρινων δικαιως, ο δοκιμαζων τους νεφρους και την καρδιαν, ας ιδω την εκδικησιν σου επ αυτους, διοτι προς σε εφανερωσα την δικην μου.

Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:

Δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος περι των ανδρων της Αναθωθ, οιτινες ζητουσι την ζωην σου, λεγοντες, Μη προφητευσης εν τω ονοματι του Κυριου, δια να μη αποθανης υπο τας χειρας ημων

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:

δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος των δυναμεων Ιδου, θελω επισκεφθη αυτους οι νεοι θελουσιν αποθανει εν μαχαιρα οι υιοι αυτων αι θυγατερες αυτων θελουσι τελευτησει υπο πεινης

And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.

και δεν θελει μεινει υπολοιπον εξ αυτων διοτι θελω φερει κακον επι τους ανδρας της Αναθωθ, εν τω ενιαυτω της επισκεψεως αυτων.
